Love this place! Not only of their stir fries amazing, but so is their deep fried Oreos. There’s a couple items that this location doesn’t have that others do, but besides this it’s magnificent!

After my last review I was not a big fan of BD’s, even after eating there many times. I was contacted by the manager Chad who invited us back for dinner on him. We had a wonderful experience and even after I thought I would never return. Oh, and I can’t say enough about our server Madison, she was great !!! A lot of places never would have invited us back but I can see that Chad is really concerned about how customers perceive them. Thanks BD’s !!!

Have been to BDs since the first one opened in Royal Oak and watched that one grow out of the original location. Not sure why the GR location is so dumpy. Have frequented the GR location 10 times on past year and tonight we finally said never again. From the service to the food this location is lacking.

This is probably one of the worst Mongolian grills I’ve been to. The price is entirely too high, regardless of the salad bar. The soups don’t match the rest of the theme, food, or atmosphere, and the ones that were offered were not even that great. The grill, itself, is awful. The stir-fry doesn’t come with rice or noddles, you have to add that to your own food for extra. Really? Really. I’ve never heard of this anywhere. Even Genghis Grill knows better than this, and they’re a franchise. The ingredients you choose to go into your stir-fry looked fine and fresh, albeit frozen. That’s not the problem. The problem is that this place never appears to clean or spray down their grill. There are crusted black flakes from burnt sauces and old vegetable residue on the grill from a customer who-knows-how-long ago, and you can taste it in your food. They also leave your ingredients on for entirely too long without, you know, stirring? They let it sit for a good 2 – 3 minutes, give it a small poke, another 2 – 3 minutes, toss it a little bit, another 2 – 3, then add your sauce… Then give it another 3 – 4 minutes. As one might imagine, this makes the vegetables a bit mushy, the chicken too chewy, and the sauce burnt. It was unappetizing, to be perfectly frank. And at virtually $ 16 a plate, with no option to omit a salad bar I didn’t want… I won’t be back.

I haven’t been to Mongolian BBQ in years. The food taste the same; not the highest quality, but better than some places. What I’m giving 4 stars to(would be 5, but the food…) is the service here. First off, the grillers were so kind. Usually they don’t interact with people much but the men behind the counter today treated my boyfriend, myself and those around us so kindly. Our server, Austin, was one of the best I think I’ve ever had in genetal. He was funny and caring and checked on us just enough without being pushy. He kept a fun conversation going when necessary, and let us eat when appropriate. I was just blown away, how on such a busy day, he made us feel so welcomed, like an old friend invited into his home. I would highly recommend coming by to see him sometime.

Overall this is a unique and good family friendly dining experience. I love all the options and variety for the price. However the open and raw meat next to seafood always makes me a bit nervous. Sometimes the meat doesn’t look too good.

It’s lost a star in the past two years since I was last there — and while it looks the same, it really has changed — and not for the better. The service seemed somewhat lackluster, the food choices were not as varied as they used to be(as others have mentioned — no eggs? Bird flu? Really?!) and the ‘chef’s were curt and not as joyous as you would see at a real hibachi dinner place. Oh and you have to ask for rice, or tortillas.

I went back a second time for lunch hoping somebody… anybody new was on the grill. There was a new person, she was nice and seemed to have somewhat of an idea on how the whole thing works. The food was MUCH better, but still a bit overdone. With a little instruction, this gal at least had me sold she would be an AWESOME Mongolian Grill Master. Just sad, this joint could be a 5 star rating ALL the time.

Great, food and company, got there for a late lunch, our server Madison provided excellent services, but the Mongolian BBQ cook was not very friendly but I still dropped 5 dollar tip for her. I came from Anchorage, AK, 3200 miles and my Boss who use live and worked in the area suggested this establishment.

Love Bd’s and have been to many locations across the country. We have none near our house and make it a point to go when traveling. In fact we had gone to another location a few days before, a few hours away and it was great. This location really left us disappointed. No cilantro for an Asian grill? And no eggs which they say is from supply issues but the previous location(2 hours away) had no problem serving us eggs. They had lots of protein options like crawfish and imitation chicken but were lacking for vegetables in my opinion. Bar with sauces and spices had no lights turned on over it. I mean are ALL the lights burned out? No sample spoons to taste anything. And once we tasted them we realized they have no flavor. We realized the sauces were CLEARLYWATEREDDOWN! The«oyster sauce» was the consistency of water. The«teriyaki sauce» was as thin as soy sauce. So maybe the lights were off for a reason? Guys at grill had to be reminded to mix one of our table’s bowls as it had been sitting on the grill so long it was starting to burn. A minute longer and it would have been black. Every single person’s bowl came out overcooked. Some tasted like dirty grill. The ribeye was chewy and seemed almost sinewy. Gross. Server was rarely by and didn’t bring our table rice until five minutes after we got back from the grill. We had to ask another server for waters to go with our cocktails. After talking to the guy at the grill, our server, and the manager, not one denied that they watered down their sauces. And for all that they only took half off one bowl.

I love a good mongolian grill since you get to pick all of your own items. However, the selection seemed to be a little off at this location. I was disappointed they didn’t have any spinach. I wish they had nutritional information for all of the available sauces. I did enjoy the create your own Coke machine! So many options!

Mediocre Mongolian food at best. I was excited to go for some Mongolian grill, as the place where I previously lived was excellent, and this place was nothing but a let down. They had a limited selection of items for the grill, whereas the salad buffet was adequately stocked. Additionally, the meat that they did have available was more fat than beef. Then when you brought your food to be cooked, you could clearly see that the cooks weren’t concerned about making sure your food was cooked properly, or that they kept most of your food that you gave them. As I watched them cook all of the food that people had handled to them, they managed to knock a decent amount of food on the floor as they moved it around.

I’m a big fan of Mongolian BBQ… But they can be hard to find, sometimes beggers can’t be choosers. With that in mind… The food they have is good, however, options other than meat are rather limited. Lots of protein options, but not many veggies. Additionally, the cooking/finishing options are non-existant. While they do offer consideration for veg/or allergies… They offer your meal no way other than cooked(no mu shu, no soup, no bed of greens etc.) You could get some lettuce from the salad bar I suppose. Lastly, they have you stand up at the grill ad if watch people cook your food which is somehow supposed to be fascinating… Lol. The service– staff very friendly and accomodating when you can find them. I have only been there once, so I don’t know if they were short staffed or if this is typical. If you’re craving M-BBQ, it’s adequate. However, i would not bring someone if this is their first time trying it– a little anticlamactic.

I have always enjoyed the chance to be the creator of my own meal. It really is a fun and innovative way to dine. The grill masters always make the visit enjoyable. I definitely recommend.

It’s been awhile since I was last here so when a friend suggested BD’s as a lunch option, I jumped at the chance to visit again. Walking in around 11:30, I was relieved to see that we beat the lunch rush. The restaurant still looked the same with the several different stations and the large open grill in the middle. My friend reminded me to get my veggies first and then my meats– it’s out of order from how they have the station set up, but you can usually pack more in that way she assured me. I did a seafood creation with calamari, shrimp, scallops and crab with fresh veggies on top. In addition to seafood, they have pork, chicken, breaded chicken bits, duck, prime rib and even meatballs to create with. Some grillers like to engage others just cook up the food. Today we had someone more intent on cooking than chatting which was fine as we caught up. Our food came out hot and fresh without being dry. Upon getting my plate of food back from the grill, I realized I made about 2 dishes worth of stir fry out of my one bowl. Not that’s a value! By the time we left at a quarter after 12, the place was filling up. My advice is to really pack in your meats and veggie if you do the one-bowl lunch option to get your money’s worth. Otherwise, after it’s cooked up, you may end up with a smaller plate than you anticipated and less bang for your buck.

Went there today with a friend and realized that they had changed the menu. You can still get the unlimited stir fry(for $ 17.99) but they’ve added a ton of additional, expensive items to the menu. When our server deduced that we didn’t want any of these upsells, her service went a bit south. I used to enjoy coming to this place, but the price increases will probably keep me away.

Wow — $$$! $ 75 on Saturday for 3 adults and 1 child(4 soft drinks). A bit steep for lunch when I have to prepare half of my food myself! We’ve been there several times before, but don’t remember it being this expensive. Food is ok, but not not worth the price.

They have the Gardein meatless beef and chicken! That’s awesome if you’re vegan or vegetarian, it made my day. I’m going to put MB in to my lunch rotation. They also have a full bar and drink specials. If your meal doesn’t turn out exactly how you want it there’s only one person to blame… ;)

I’m always a fan of Mongolian Grill. The food is delicious, so long as you don’t screw it up. It’s been a while since I’ve been there and I was quite pleasantly surprised with the variety of craft beers available. So long as you either have a basic comprehension of cooking(you know what can or can’t go together in a dish) or are willing to follow a recipe(aka not the average guy) you’ll love BD’s.
