Nice coffee shop. Got some reading in. Staff was very nice. The nut/fruit/candy shop is great as well. The kids will love it.

There is a lot of choices for great coffee Grand Rapids. But Ferris is a special place. Their prices and atmosphere blows everyone else out of the water. You can get an amazing cup of coffee for $ 2.50($ 1.50 if you are a member of their mug club). Plus, they host great special events. The only knock is that it is a little out of the way and their food options are pretty limited. There isn’t much nearby. So bring a sandwich if you intend to stay for a while.

Ferris Coffee is such an excellent addition to the neighborhood! OK, they’ve been here for decades with their roasted nuts, dried fruit and candies — the shop is full of delicious things that are perfect for gifts, especially if you want to give something local from Grand Rapids. But a year or so ago, they renovated the whole place. It used to be a store with a tiny, mediocre coffee bar in a corner. Now it’s half shop, half amazing coffee shop. The coffeeshop is a really comfortable place to work, talk, of just sip a coffee or tea — yes, it looks good with the sleek coffee counter, wood tables, Edison lamps, and armchairs, but there are also plenty of outlets and a big high table where you can work standing or sitting. Ferris has always roasted coffee, but along with the renovation they started to focus on excellence… and succeeded! We’re lucky to have some world-class coffee roasters in town, and Ferris is getting there. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable, the drinks are awesome and range from cold brew to perfect espresso drinks to pour-over coffee to batch brew ‘ordinary coffee’ to teas and seasonal specials. There’s even a ‘Brew Crew’ club for regular customers with discounts and gifts. Highly recommended!

Not open until 9? Really? This is a coffee shop, right? That’s at least a one-star demotion in my book.

I came to Ferris Coffee & Nut for a specific reason, to purchase melting chocolate. Many years ago, we would have to purchase such items by going to the warehouse door and you could only purchase them in a specific size, well all that has changed! You now buy them in the retail side in the main store, but you need to pre-order them(no more on the spot purchasing), and you can order them by how many pounds you would like. The prices are good and if the chocolate taste the same, I will be happy(I haven’t received my melting chocolate yet)! There are now 2 companies you can order from that they offer. They have many other candy treats to purchase as well. There is also a coffee shop side, which has a wifi station I guess you would call it! Location is very easy to find, parking is not the easiest if they are busy due to the lack of parking. Staff is friendly and really does their best to get you information you are requesting(I was asking for the cocoa % of dark chocolate). Overall a great place.

I was drawn by their commercials as I had not been there in over 20 years. WOW, great coffee bar and fresh nuts. Friendly staff and easy parking. I have a new regular stop.

I come to Ferris for their incredible whole bean and ground coffee as well as their delectable sweets. They sell individual sample packs of ground coffee that make cool gift basket stuffers. The double-dipped chocolate peanuts, peanut butter chocolate malt balls, truffles, and sea salt caramels are out of this world. Ferris has a cute coffee and espresso bar with seating if want to sip or snack on premises. They also sell gift baskets that are great for hosts/hostesses.

My dad and I have been hitting up all the coffee places in Grand Rapids and this was the first time we’ve been to Ferris Coffee. The two guys there were so incredibly nice and gave us free coffee because it was their opening day. Had it been crappy free coffee, we still would’ve been happy, but the coffee was actually really flavorful and unique. Definitely up there with the other specialty coffee houses. Will be back for sure.

I cannot think of one negative thing to say about Ferris. Many of my snacks are Ferrris staples: chocolate covered peanuts, dried fruits, and the trail mix. Ferris coffee is on our regular rotation at work. Just as important as their quality of goodies, their customer service is the best. Being a customer privately and professionally, I am 100% satisfied with their friendly, qualified employees.

Ferris coffee is awesome. They have fast, efficient, friendly service. I also like that I can take my own cup in and for a small fee of $.75 fill it with fresh coffee of their many daily features. They have a solid selection of varied nuts as well, from trail mixes, to candied, to Raw or Salted. Overall Ferris is a fast, convenient, friendly stop on my way to work.

Excellent spot for getting your coffee beans. Great candy and nuts. They also have cups of coffee, lattes, etc. A great spot for last minute holiday shopping when you can’t think of anything else. I like better than Koezes.
