Flying Bridge Fish Market

I had the sea perch with onion rings. The onion rings were super good, the breading stuck to the onion really well so the onion didn’t slip out like most do. The fish was good, I would have liked it to be a bit more crispy but that could be because it was in my car 15 minutes or so before I got it home. It came with a side of potato salad which was interesting. It’s very sweet and very mustard-​y, it was different but quite good!
The man working was super nice!

This place has pretty good fried fish. Its a tad expensive but I guess that’s par for the course with seafood. 4.5.

This place reminds me of fried fish from the east coast the breading is really light and not a thick beer batter breading like Michigan often serves. we got the cod and the tilapia basket and both were super hot, since it’s made fresh to order and not from frozen fish, and really good. I never feel sick eating here like other fried food places, so that’s a huge plus as sometimes i feel these fried food places never change their oil. The coleslaw was okay but nothing special. I wish they had real lemons to offer me instead of packets, since i normally don’t use tartar sauce. Since the packets of lemon juice looked worse than their homemade tartar i gave it a shot and was happy to find it was actually awesome, i ate it with my fries and everything. It was super light on relish if there was any at all and was made with some paprika, i think, i was skeptical too, but it was extremely good.
the parking lot is tiny and there is no where to sit, but i don’t rate a place on it’s amenities. the service was friendly enough but they’re fairly quiet and cut and dry and watched the television while they cooked our food.

I tried the fish & chips special and when I got home I discovered the fish is just deep fried plain without batter. I’ve never even heard of a fish fry that wasn’t beer battered or breaded. It was horrible! The cod was tasteless and without any batter to keep the fish moist and tender it had been deep fried to the point of shoe leather consistency. Both the fries and O-​rings were solid. The slaw smelled and tasted foul, maybe because they keep it in the same cooler as the raw fish!

Great place for take out deep fried fish. They have Bluegill, Smelt, Cod, Catfish, and some others. Get a basket (It’s all To Go) & you can get fries & cole slaw. Get orders for groups too.
