I purchased a couch and a love seat from Ashley furniture. At the same time Ashley sold me a warranty on the furniture through guardsman a local insurance co. The first time I had a problem I contacted the insurance company and was told they didn’t cover the type of damage I experienced. Contacted my family attorney and he read the policy. WEWERECOVERED! My attorney further told me that guardsman had been the subject of a «tv consumer investigation» and was alleged to be fraudulent in their claims handling. I will be contacting the attorney generals office, the bbb, the insurance regulating board and filing a case in small claims court. And last but not least, the tv channel that ran the scam story on tv. I will make guardsman famous or shall I say«infamous» in the tri state area! Do not buy one of these scam polices from Ashley(no matter how they represent their value) they just want your money. THEYWON’t PAY!!! … We have contacted the«attorneys generals office» and they have opened a case.

I knew it wasn’t just me. I did all they asked, waited for at least two weeks. just for them to say no. I knew in my gut that I shouldn’t have purchased this warranty but I did anyways based on how much I paid for the furniture. SUPERMISTAKE! I read before that they find any reason to deny honoring your warranty. They didn’t even send anyone out to check the furniture, just a hard NO. Never ever again will I purchase their warranty for anything. Shady business characters.

I have a service repair contract. Did everything that was asked. And they still won’t honor warranty request. Don’t buy service from them or Lazy Boy. Whom sells it neither will help you.

They do not honor legitimate claims if you are a few days late getting in the necessary paperwork. Then they will not let you resubmit a new claim. So even if the damages would normally be covered they will use this technicality to get out of making the repairs. They are not customer service oriented and not professional on the phone. I spent a few hundred dollars for the warranty and will never buy again from Guardsman. Don’t waste your money.

Wasted time and money with this«service» provider. After speaking with someone on the phone regarding renewal of my quality kitchen cabinets, I was given a price range for this work that I considered acceptable so I agreed to pay $ 60+tax for a specific estimate by one of their technicians. Following the technician;s visit, I got a call announcing that the starting price for what I wanted done was 3 times the max amount quoted originally. I will never ever recommend these people to anyone. Major waste of my time!

Lead to believe by Ashley that Guardsman would clean /maintain furniture as part of their service. Untrue. Claim process ridiculous. Sale order: 810257810. Item ID: APK-68404−3L. Purchased 3 pc LAF sectional Vista Chocolate on 9÷25÷12 with Aaron Morales. Protection plan recommended«They will come out & clean your couch whenever it gets dirty!» Delivered 10÷2÷12 by Ignacio & Juan who repeated same statement about having the«great» protection plan & being able to have it cleaned«whenever!» Fast forward to now, I opened a claim to have couch cleaned. I did not list stains as I acknowledge they are part of normal wear and tear due to having 2 boys and 2 dogs. Representative who took original call made no mention of this plan not covering general cleaning. Thanks for wasting my time. Anyway, claim process is inconvenient, outdated, and takes a ridiculous amount of time. No option to submit copies of receipts/forms online. Submitted my claim to which it was denied. Claim # 11158154. I called today and spoke to another representative. I mentioned the stains to which I now have to open a NEW claim. At the time I made the claim, she asked, did you read your service contract? I’m not sure what she was alluding to. Bottom line, I just went in to Ashley the other day to pick out a dining room table. We came home to measure and ensure it would look great in our new home. Upon response of this most recent claim, if it is denied, be sure I will never purchase from this company again and will be sure that none of my friends and family do either. What is covered in the brochure is 1⁄8 of what is not covered. This company is committing robbery. You cover basically nothing and make it so extremely difficult to utilize the service consumers pay for that I hope enough people report you and you eventually get shut down. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
