We rented kayaks for the 6 miles package on the river. The kayaks seems fairly new and were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great time on the river. The scenery was wonderful and there was a variety of wildlife to view. They will tell you this, but it is best not to wear flip flops. Old tennis shoes or water shoes are the best.

We went to River Lures on the 4th of July and were so pleased with our experience. We were able to be lazy and just coast down the river on the beautiful day, and then call river lures when we were ready to be picked up. It was very fun and so laid back. I would recommend this company to anyone.

While briefly visiting Grand Rapids, OH from MD on our way to MI, we were happy to find out that we could rent canoes and kayaks for use on the canal and the Maumee River. We rented a canoe for $ 10 each and used it for about two hours. Then we decided we wanted to use some kayaks. We traded our canoe for kayaks without having to pay any additional monies and used them for two hours! The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because they didn’t offer instruction. We didn’t need it, but I think it would’ve been nice if they had asked. They do offer drop off and pick up services. They sell kayaks and fishing gear in their store and they have a functional website. They also have stand up paddle boards for rent, which we did see them providing instruction on.
