Americas Best Value Inn-Land between the Lakes

I’m giving this place one star bc I have to. It’s a crap hole and the people who work here are borderline incapable. The place is absolutely disgusting and the housekeeping is a joke. If you want AIDS stay here. Enjoy your stay!

I believe in giving a business a second chance in the belief that the first bad experience may be an isolated event. With that said, we decided to stay at the ABV on the way to Ohio for my sisters wedding.
I reserved a smoking room online prior to leaving my home and upon arrival a few hours later, the owner (same guy as my last review) was on the phone speaking hindi to someone while trying to get me checked in. This may have been the reason we were placed in a non-​smoking room. We called down to the front desk and asked if there was a mistake… there was. So the owner tells us to meet him at a different room, which we did. This room wasn’t made up, wasn’t even in any condition to be rented out, so he closed the door and we walked to the end of the building to another room.
This room, while ready, was far from clean. There were, like last time, large foreign objects in the corners and along the baseboards. Needless to say, my flip flops never came off my feet. Oh, and get this… the door couldn’t be opened with an electronic key, so we were trapped or at the mercy of the owner if we decided to leave.
The wifi was still abysmal and the tv reception — well, watching netflix on a 3g connection was better, if that gives you any idea.
I won’t be staying here again. Not because of staff issues, but because of property issues. I wish ABV would send inspectors down and get them to clean up a bit. It needs it.

We needed a quick overnight stay on our way home from Florida. We wanted cheap & just needed a few hours of sleep to keep going. Well like they say… you get what you pay for. This is a really cheap place to stay. The outside looks alright, but the inside is another story. There were 2 small double beds that had probably been slept on by thousands of people in the past 25 years. In other words the mattresses were in very poor condition. We had the AC on max & were sweating. I’m not sure if it was actually dirty or just old & worn. I was too tired to care. You could hear everything going on in the neighboring rooms & the night we were there some people were brawling down the way from us. We turned on the TV loud enough to drown out the grinding noise of the AC so we were able to sleep over the noise. It was a bit scary & I was so glad to see daylight & pack it up. Don’t count on getting a good night’s rest here.
