Western Sizzlin Steak House

Wish we had left when we first walked in. The air conditioner and ice cream machine were both broken. At 7pm on a Wednesday night there were only 3 couples in the place. Maybe that is why the food was scarce. Each of the buffet bars had very little of each food. Most of what was available was old. Green beans were mostly brown as was the lettuce. Chicken was cold. Spaghetti was raw — as in the noodles still snapped when you bent them.
The only high note was the server. Mike was great. Just attentive enough without being a bother. Very friendly. It is a shame his skills are not being put to better use where there are more customers.

Tacky pictures on the walls. Promo deals that have probably been up since 1993. Ripped seats in the booths. This is a dive beyond dives. Why do I love it so? Breakfast!
On Saturday and Sunday, they have a breakfast buffet. It’s the normal breakfast items, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, etc. But they have these amazing sausage bites, sausage wrapped in pancake. I clean them out of them every time I go, they don’t leave very many of them out either.
And surprisingly, they have a nice stocked bar full of fruit and puddings etc, which is nice to have something fresh with the normal breakfast fare. It’s normally not too crowded if you get there early, and the waitress we always end up having is AWESOME. She has the greatest personality and knows everyone there by name. She makes sure your drinks are full and you have clean plates for the buffet. She takes time to make sure you have everything you need and is a nice person to talk to!
I would give this place 4.5 stars if I could, because it could use a massive remodel… but the food is what counts and its good!
