Mathnasium of Granger

Mathnasium has helped my son, and our family, so much. Math homework nights used to be really hard on all of us. He didn’t understand the work, I tried, but often wasn’t able to help him partly because I wasn’t taught his way and also because he developed a mental block because he grew to dislike math so much. After our initial assessment at Mathnasium I knew someone like a peer tutor wasn’t going to be able to help him either. We found that there were gaps in his math skills that were a year or two behind his current placement. A tutor would have likely helped with homework, but he still would have had those gaps. Since starting at Mathnasium 2 months ago my son’s confidence has grown, his nervousness about going to school on math days has ended, and he is starting to open up more about his struggles. We are able to have converstaions about math instead of fights about it. He got in the car after a recent session at Mathnasium and said, «that feels so good to finally understand that.» He was afraid to ask for help before because he didn’t want to look ‘dumb’ in front of the other students in his high school honors class. I really cannot say enough about the caring staff and just what a relief it is to have that stress off of our family, but mostly to have my son happier again.
