My girlfriend and I ate here with our daughter earlier. We ate during happy hour. Grabbed a couple roles off of the happy hour. One was the Volcano, I don’t recommend it, it sounded good but wasn’t what i expected. The cilantro was overpowering. We got the roliepolie and another role but I can’t remember the name. Overall it was good. Nice and quiet at first and as we finished up business started picking up. Thanks, we will be back.

The workers welcome you when you walk in. We went in when it wasn’t too too busy– still a good handful of groups and couples eating. The menu had a good amount of rolls. Not too overwhelming where you don’t even know where to decide and where things are all filled with the same stuff. Their rolls are all different. We got a sashimi plate and rolls and the fish was sooooo fresh! Generous chunks of fish and tasty rolls! Each one actually tasted different! Good spacious restaurant and delicious sushi. Will be back and highly highly recommend. Wish I was closer!

This place is simply amazing! We took our dear friend there for her birthday(she always raves about the joint) so we decided to surprise her. I showed up with a cake and they were more than gracious about it. The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal, which was reasonably priced. The service was stellar — without being overbearing. We could not have been more pleased with everything. I highly suggest going here if you are looking for a great sushi bar(and more)!

The service leaves a lot to be desired. The place was empty and we had to flag down help. The food was honestly not that good. Everything tasted fishy. With the rolls we ordered all you could taste was cream cheese. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our visit.

I was quickly seated. The food was excellent. I was so close to giving this place 5 stars. However, 5 stars is when there is no room to improve.

The sushi is great and always tastes fresh. My only gripe is that within a relatively short drive there are other options that are running 50% off specials and thus lower prices for similar quality. When I’m eating by myself this place isn’t too bad, but when I bring the whole family it can get quite expensive. Still, a great place with a agreeable atmosphere and high quality food.

This place rocks! The atmosphere is nice, the service is great and the sushi bar is awesome! We’ve lived down the street for 5 years and just now discovered our neighborhood sushi bar!

Impressed with the great service and really good food! Not necessarily authentic Japanese food, but it was good nonetheless and we will definitely be back. Our 4-year-old liked it too and they were particularly friendly to her!

My daughter and I have been regular customers here for awhile and we are treated like family. Food is fresh, prepared with love and always delicious. Anything you order will be great-but a few favorites: the Nori«chip and dip» — they fry seaweed strips in tempura and you scoop out spicy seafood… super yum! Also, try the garlic tuna(it’s on the special board) my 11 year old will eat the whole plate! Special place, wonderful staff, fantastic food!!!

Went here on a whim because the kids wanted Sushi but it was prime time and we didn’t want to brave the dinner hour at Mikuni or Kaizen with hungry kiddos. So this was our first time and we loved it. They were friendly, quick, accommodating(with my specific kid approved miso with extra tofu and rice). The best part was that their fish was super fresh and they have a big selection of rolls and appetizers. Also, they had a chalkboard with all the seasonal specialty fish including Toro and King Salmon when we were there. Great neighborhood sushi restaurant!

If you don’t like the food, you must have ordered it wrong. Ask questions and you will enjoy every bite and the sake is soothingly good. Bring a friend or a group

HIDDENGEM! Very clean, very tasty, very authentic, and very awesome customer service! The sushi chef was a woman too which was super rad. Our server was also very kind and professional. Food tasted great, miso soup is not from a packet.

I am really quite torn on Hazumi — formerly known as Haruka Sushi. The sushi is really good as is the service, but I get hung up on the cost. The other night I went there and got four rolls and some seaweed salad — two of the rolls had fish /seafood, two just vegetables and the cost was over $ 46. I can tell you that we can go to Arigato Sushi in Roseville and order the same types of rolls and spend $ 13. I understand that $ 13 is ridiculously inexpensive, but in comparison, it makes Hazumi seem REALLY expensive… like three and a half times as expensive. The problem is that the sushi is not three and a half times better. Their happy hour only goes till 5 or 5:30, so I cannot take advantage of that. The food — really good! I really do love their sushi, but in this area, if you don’t have a 50% off sushi menu, then you are kind of pricing yourself out of the game, because I WILL travel 15 minutes to save $ 30.

Granite Bay’s best kept secret! We decided to give this place another chance after hearing that it is under new ownership. So glad we did! They gave it a little cosmetic facelift inside, and the food is up to par with Mikuni and Blue Nami! The lady owner, Yee, is obsessed with the art of sushi, and you can watch her as she personally creates everything with care and a quick hand. It’s nice to see a small business owner take such pride in her work. If you love sushi, and want a quiet and intimate setting to enjoy it, give this place a try! This will be a regular spot for us for now on.

3 stars for the service, which was very fast, friendly, and they didn’t put anything in my toddler’s reach, which is a big big plus as a mom with a quick child. The food was okay for a standard sushi place in this area. Our calamari were rings which came from a bag/box(I know because a previous place I worked at used the same kind) and the tempura oysters I would definitely not recommend. The oysters themselves were very small and each bite consisted of mostly tempura batter, which made up for lack in size. The oysters would be better in a lighter panko breading. We also had a dynamite roll which came out and it was hot(it was a baked roll), had double shrimp in it, though the tempura breading around the shrimp was incredibly doughy, and there was no crispness to it(usually means that tempura shrimp was maybe prepared before hand and possibly just sitting for awhile). Also, it was $ 14 which is really pricey for the roll considering that they used imitation crab. I work at place right now which uses only real crab and we don’t have anything priced that high as far as rolls go. I may be spoiled. Like I said, service was great, but a no go for me as far as food.

I rarely give 5 stars. But this restaurant w the excellent sushi chef Yee always slices the fish to what my taste buds desire! She knows I only eat fresh fish and always accommodates me with what I love to eat. Tonight I asked her to make whatever she wants and surprise me. She knows I hate cream cheese in my sushi(yuck why do people eat cream cheese w rice anyway? lol) so she made me something so tasty. I have no idea what it’s called but it’s buttery and with a kick of spice topped it off for me. Great job Yee! :)

We eat here frequently and love this place. The food is always fresh and the place is clean. Everything I have ever ordered is great, from the bento boxes to nigiri sushi, etc. The meat is always tender and there is never any fat on it. The chicken is always moist and cooked perfectly. The service is great. There restaurant staff is very nice and always accommodating. My husband likes to customize his bento box and they always do whatever he wants without question. It’s kid friendly and they have kids meals. The kids love the marble sodas they have. There is always an abundance of food on the plate and we always have leftovers for the next day. The plates are beautifully made and very pretty. I will say it is a bit pricy, but to me, worth every penny. I noticed one reviewer stated that they violated ADA regulations in not wanting to seat her. I am disabled and at times I have gone there in a wheel chair or a scooter and even crutches. Never once have I had an issue with them seating me. They are more than accommodating and in fact most of he time, they ask me where would be most comfortable. So I am surprised to hear that. I think they had a full house on Valentines Day and being fairly new they had over what they had probably expected, so I don’t think this was really an ADA issue, but I wasn’t there… it’s just my opinion. She also stated that the place was filthy and I find that hard to believe. We eat here all the time and it has never been filthy, even during rush times. Again, just my opinion from my experiences there.

The sushi is amazing, pleasing to both the eyes and the taste bud. They are not stingy about the sushi topping at all and their sushi rice is really good. Everything is fresh. They also serve nice vegetarian sushi rolls here.

Very good sushi, superior to Akebono that it replaced in that location. Décor is better and seems to be well run. Fish is fresh and presented nicely with good service. Many unique items on the menu. Been there four times. Not 5 stars mainly because of the price and occasionally slow service. It is not cheap and they don’t appear to offer coupons or other deals. Guess you get what you pay for. Very minor nit, but their menus are shiny and black, so they are fingerprint magnets, so that is a bit unappetizing. We ate there on Valentine’s Day with a reservation and while the food did come out quite slowly that night, it was high quality and we had no issues with cleanliness or getting seated, nor did we see anyone else with issues. So, our experience was different than the other customer on Valentine’s Day. Probably would be a good idea to get reservations on days like Valentine’s Day. Really hope they survive. It’s a bit of a tough location with many prior failed restaurants there.

You can’t afforded to eat here. $ 55 lunch for two people, two rolls apiece and a two piece nigiri special, no drinks, just water.

Haruka has cemented itself as our new go-to sushi spot. We’ve been here about 6 times so far, and every time the food has been fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The shinobi roll is my personal favorite, but everything we’ve ever gotten off of the specials menu has been awesome. We now make it a point to pick something new, nearly at random, from the specials each time, just to try something different.

I had been here a couple times before. Why oh why did I wait so long before visits? They are fantastic. Everything is fresh. The bento box is beautifully done. Looks too good to even eat. If you are not a huge fan of sushi, they have many traditional Japanese foods to choose from. The menu is very extensive. I liked the fact that they had an entire page go Veggie meals. The service was great too. Very nice guy helping us. I had a Tempura Cheesecake for desert that was off the charts and vowed to workout the next day(which I did). Pricing is very fair and it’s a comfortable casual atmosphere. Worth doing !

We were gleefully surprised when our food arrived so beautifully plated We ordered tempera prawns and a «cocktail glass» serving of assorted fish to be scooped up with tempera chips of seaweed all mildly, but adequately seasoned. The giant mushroom bombs, tempera mushrooms stuffed with fish, were delicious and for dessert, tempera dipped Oreo cookies accompanied by slices of strawberries. It was all so scrumptious, served with a smile, and reasonably priced. The restaurant is comfortable, stylish, and void of that fishy smell! At last, fine sushi dining has arrived in Granite Bay.

Finally, an authentic sushi restaurant in the area! We ordered several nigiri items and two rolls. Everything was so fresh and beautifully prepared. No gimmicks here, just fantastic sushi. We hope to be eating here at least every other week. so glad this place has come to the area. The restaurant décor is very nice as well as the service.

Food was ok. Expensive, the salmon teriyaki was good. Service was slow, the sushi came out the same time as our entrees. Miso soup was salty, edamame was average. Salad dressing was sugary. Sushi rice texture felt as if it was broken pieces of rice. At these prices it hard to see if it would survive even in Granite Bay. They are going to need coupons like its predessor Akebono. It worth another try.
