Rolling Greens Golf Course

Golfing on sun. What could be better. This place is 15 bucks each an 15 for the cart. 9 hole course. It’s 5 more bucks to play 9 more though. The greens are 3 quarters sand. But the beers are 2 bucks a piece on sundays. There are no reservations. First come first serve. Plenty of parking. It’s mostly par 3s so you don’t really even need a cart. 18 holes for 20 bucks. That’s what I’m talking about.

This is a fun little course nestled out on Eureka Rd. it is best to leave your woods in the car as the course doesn’t have a lot of distance. But there is elevation changes on many holes and 3 has a massive tree that blocks the green and makes for an interesting shot. Good value and a fun course.

As a beginner/​low intermediate golfer, I rate this a 5 star experience. Is it pebble beach? Obviously not, but it’s not meant to be, either. If you want to work on your skills in a low key environment where you won’t get judged for shanking the ball — this is your place.
Let’s face it, if you aren’t very good at golf and play at a prestigious course — it can easily be uncomfortable and intimidating. No one wants to look stupid, or hold up those playing behind them. Rolling Greens is the exact opposite of that.
Evidently they are under new ownership since July of 2015, and the gentlemen in the shop was very friendly and adamant about some of the improvements coming in the near future.
Conclusion: If you are just learning the sport, or getting back into it, or a little rusty — this is the spot for you. If you want immaculately manicured greens, go somewhere else.

I really enjoy this course. There are new owners, and they are doing a great job of fixing up the course. It is a nice course for a beginner, but intermediate players will enjoy it as well. Thete are some challenging holes. A few tricky sand traps are around. The third hole is particularly challenging with a big oak to the left, a pond in between and a large sand trap just below the green. I hope they start offering league play.

Bring your kids, a soccer ball, a pitching wedge, a few balls and have fun! Foot Golf is available here and is a blast. Come with low expectations. They have a nice deck and a TV with the Golf Channel. They serve adult drinks as well as kid friendly drinks and have a lunch menu. Good times here as long as you don’t take yourself to serious. Have fun!

My wife and I just played this course for the first time. Perfect for re-​beginners like us. Neither of us lost a golf ball which is the only good thing about our game– sure isn’t what we shoot. Provided the extra iron practice we need. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. No pressure for those of us who are ‘golf score challenged’. The best part was Ruben who was most gracious and patient when we signed in with him and after we finished and ordered the $ 5 combo with a great hot dog, chips and drink. The course is fortunate to have Ruben and he is a wonderful ambassador for Rolling Greens. I will continue to be challenged by this course even as I improve. For the expert golfer this isn’t probably the best place to go so I don’t understand the negative reviews for someone who plays well– what did they expect? Where else can one go for 9 holes for $ 13 and enjoy the experience like we did.

I struggled with whether I wanted to write this review since I have golfed here for over 15 years. I like the course for a cheap walk around the block, but I left yesterday feeling a bit irritated. My group happened to come on a day when the «golf pro» was running a camp for kids. He was following my group around the course with 12 to 15 school aged golf campers who were running around, talking, standing near the front of tee boxes, noisily washing golf balls no more than 10 feet from my back swing, etc… they were not playing golf, but working on etiquette. Hilarious… When I finally said something about the fact that was you know… uncool, he proceeded to tell me that I was in the wrong and that it didn’t matter that kids were talking through my back swing because it wasn’t tournament play. Seriously??? I later apologized to him because I kinda raised my voice and said if I were working with those kids I’d have them way the hell back there, 200 yards away near the 5^th tee. My bad I was kinda pissed. These kids were literally, and I’m not exaggerating, 10 feet from me on the 6^th hole tee box. He told me to watch my language, again, my bad. I clammed up, made my way to the green, oh yeah, hit the tee shot pin high… nice…maybe I should have kids around my tee shot more often. I later apologized to this clueless «golf pro» and left. The rest of my group thought I was nuts. They wanted their green fees back. I told them you can’t change stupid. I’ll be back for another cheap round one day. Lame…

The Tee Greens need work, had to drive from about 50 feet from the first tee spot to get a hit from a decent spot because the grass is so poorly spotted. The fairways are nice as are the greens.

I am a senior and am playing golf after a 14 year hiatus because my 12 year old grandson is taking an interest in this sport. After lessions and some driving and putting practice, we went to Rolling Greens for our first golf course experience together. What a blast. We both played pretty well and enjoyed the «Executive» 9-​hole experience. We were greeted in a friendly manner on arrival and found the course to be in good enough shape to thoroughly enjoy the game. Next time we will keep score. Great fun.

This is a shitty golf course. The entire course is playable in about an hour (9 holes) and has no real par 4 holes. The fairway is in decent shape — when you’re not standing in a puddle, but the greens were all sand. The green fee — $ 12 for 9 — is not worth it, when you could play other — better kept — courses in the area for just a tad more.
Plus, the guy at the counter was a dick.

Tee boxes need work. Would be nice if sand and grass seed mix were available to fill in the divots on the tee boxes. Greens were not mowed. Upgrades made to the clubhouse is a plus.

New ownership (grounds keepers) are the reason I after learning to play golf at Rolling Greens, I stopped going! Bill was a weird guy but the greens could battle any course in Sacramento! I have gone a few times since the new ownership and I cant stand the conditions!!! The front desk girl is very nice but that’s about it! From 4 STARS TO 1!

The four stars is my future prediction. This course was poor because of poor ownership and a horrible and lazy greens keeper. The old staff is gone and a new owner is ready to make it great. New everythiing is in the works. Can’t wait…

I like to call this place TPC Granite Bay North Golf Club. Well, that’s what my friends and I like to call it. I organize a little tournament with a bunch of guys from work where we are only able to bring and use 3 clubs. It makes for quite an interesting and challenging game, not that golf wasn’t tough enough to begin with.
As for the course, it’s great if you want to practice your short game. The longest hole measures at a whopping 237 yards and the shortest playing 131 yards. You can’t be expecting too much out of this place. Although a short course, it does have it’s hazards finely placed. There’s plenty of sand traps and there is definitely water hazards throughout the course. Overall, fairly challenging course, especially if you are shotgunning a beer every hole.
There isn’t a driving range, but there is a net that you can slap the ball into to warm up. There is also a little putting green. The course overall, being a muni course in the middle of granite bay is taking care of fairly well. Not Granite Bay standards, but for $ 12 for 9 holes, that’s tough to beat. There isn’t too much to swoon about in the clubhouse. They have your ordinary clubhouse buys with balls, tees, drinks, and some snacks. I’ve seen a smoker/​bar-​b-​q in the back, but have never seen food cooked. There’s enough parking for maybe 40 cars. Don’t drive too fast on Eureka Blvd., you might just pass it. Overall, inexpensive little place to play.

This is a nice little course nestled down Eureka Road in Roseville/​Granite Bay, they have made a lot of changes to it since the lasrt time I played it in 2009… you have to walk because the course is pretty short (even for a 9 hole, in my opinion)…but its cheap, you don’t need to make a tee time and if you are in need of some iron work this is the place for you! only problem I’ve found is the course is a little narrow, if you don’t hit it completely straight (which be honest, you don’t) you could lose a lot of balls… but it’s a fun course none the less!

This isn’t the prettiest course you will ever play but it’s a great 9 hole par 3 for beginners. I had never been on a golf course before this and was pretty nervous about my first time out but this was very low key. Not too crowded and the fairways aren’t horribly long and complicated.
We were there on a Saturday and it was $ 12 per person and $ 3 for a pull cart. They also have $ 3 beers and they will put a couple in a bag with some ice for the walk. :-)
Overall — this is a good place for beginners trying to get comfortable on the course and it’s a pretty good time. I’ll definitely be back.

I went yesterday for the first time ever. I had been to the driving range before, but never a golf course so I didn’t know what to really expect nor do I have any other courses to compare this to. We went to this one because its a 3 par course.
I thought the place was decent, a bit run down, but clean and good service. We went on a Saturday and the cost was $ 12 per person, $ 3 for the push cart to put your clubs on. There was no wait. They have beer for sale (cash only). Cheaper beer like Bud/​Miller $ 2.50/bottle, Hefeweizen $ 3/​bottle. I will come back!

Pretty fun little dive. They have Sierra Nevada in the bottle in the combination pro shop /​bar… I recommend that you grab about three of these per player per nine holes before heading down the hill. Smokes might also be good. It’s a nine hole muni, I think all par threes, with a few fairly long holes. Par is a very good score. But this place is really for getting in a quick hike, maybe a couple beers, and some laughs with your buddies. Good times.

This little walk on 9 hole was a good surprise for me. Being a new golfer this course made me feel right at home. The longest hole from tee is around 240 which helped me concentrate more with my short game.
