These guys catered our recent company picnic and holy pork ribs they put out a good meal! All the meats were perfectly prepared and delicious and, while they needed no sauce, there were three different flavors available if you wanted to kick things up a notch or two. I was honestly really impressed with the quality and flavors of the food as often times mass production can lead to a generic product. Aside from the ribs, there was chicken available which was tender, juicy, and full of flavor as well as a big pile of brisket that had the exact characteristics and flavors you would want from what is, to me, the number one item that can either make or break a BBQ. The selection of side items included potato salad, corn on the cob, and cornbread(I think that was it) and everything was just as delicious as everything else I’ve described. The crew that was there to set up, prepare, serve, and maintain everything was really great as they kept each item well stocked and made sure not even one napkin was out of place during our time there. I didn’t have a chance to interact with them personally, but they seemed like very friendly people. If you happen to run across Whitey’s BBQ and Catering, definitely give them a try and, if you need a catering job that will impress all of your guests then these are the absolutely the people you want to do business with.

We came across Whitey’s BBQ and Catering first at the Carnation 4th of July Celebration. Even though the line was long they were getting food out fast I had the Beef Brisketwich with Kickin Slaw and Beans and they were the best I have had since I moved here from Texas. They don’t add any sauce to the meat and let you dress it yourself(sign they aren’t hiding poor quality meat). They had 3 choices of sauces Original, Orange Blossom and Spicy. I tried all 3 and though they were all good the Orange Blossom was outstanding with just a hint of sweet and spicy it was a perfect blend to complement the brisket without overpowering the meat. I have never had Cole slaw like theirs, it also has a great balance of sweet(cranberries) and spicy(sauce) I actually asked for a second helping. The beans I understand are a family recipe that is worthy of handing down for generations to come. There were 4 different types of beans along with bacon, onions and celery in a very savory sauce. The prices are good for all the food you get, I recommend asking for a to go box, you’ll have leftovers! After such great food at Carnation we looked for them at Kla Ha Ya days and were not disappointed, right by the beer garden and music stage with the same great food and service. Checked them out on Facebook(their suggestion) and learned they do a dinner in the park every couple of weeks. The parks change as well as the menu but if it’s anything like what I have sampled so far I will be signing up.
