I was recently admitted to Three Rivers hospital for abdominal pain, and the surgeon on call was Dr. Mark Jones, one of the surgeons at GP Surgical. I was admitted late in the evening, so I did not see Dr. Jones until the next morning. When he came into my room, he was extremely curt, nearly to the point of rude. He then tells me there was a mass shown on my CT, but when I ask what it is, he has no idea. I ask about what we should do to check it, he says nothing. If it is of no worry, why mention it to me? He really didn’t answer any of my questions, just saying that they are keeping me another night and he is leaving town… Fast forward to the next morning, and this is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1, Dr. Brett Schulte and his resident, Dr. Mark Thomas came into my room, and while they still did not know what the mass was, he reassured me that it was nothing cancerous, and that he was going to have me follow up with a urologist to further investigate it. In the end, they never did figure out the source of my abdominal pain, and it has not gone away. If you need a surgeon in this community, go to Asante Physician Partners. I switched to Dr. Aaron Martin, who is absolutely wonderful, and has been making sure that everything is checked and wants to find out what is actually wrong.
