Really good food. Customer service is great. Food is served quickly. And do you like dip? The jalapeño dip is a must try. Oh and the prices are great. Dinner plates are $ 12

We had my sons 21st birthday here and had an amazing time. We had a buffet style dinner with tacos and tamales. Everything was delicious. The staff there did a great job and kept everything flowing smoothly. We will defiantly be back.

Best Mexican in grants pass, rogue River or Medford!!! Everything I’ve ever ordered has been exceptional. My newest addiction? Their STEAK nachos!!! BOOM. I also love their taco salad, tostadas, taqueria and of course their taco plates!!! They also have the best chili rellanos around. Great staff, great service.

This place is awesome, if you are driving up/down I-5 and don’t stop you have hit your head! Tacos are off the charter, especially the barbacoa, as well as the carnitas. Bean dip is frikkin great, service is excellent and it is within 100 yards of the freeway. Stop here, you won’t be disappointed

What a cool little place! Our son and his girlfriend eat here often so we gave it a try and we’re so glad we did! Their homemade Sangria was the best I’ve ever had! Their food yummy, and our server(who I believe is the Manager) was so friendly and accommodating. We’ll definitely go back!

This is not a fancy restaurant, but the five star rating fits because everything tastes so good and is authentic Mexican. We live a mile away and ate at La Guacamaya when they first opened. They didn’t quite have it together yet. Recently, about a year later. we decided to try again and since then have eaten there about 10 times. Mostly for lunch. The mini tacos carnitas are excellent, and the salsa bar with condiments is a bonus. Watch out for the salsas. When they say«hot» believe it. Have also tried the huevos rancheros breakfast with good results. With Paisano’s Italian restaurant across the river, and this place with Mexican, the little town of Rogue River has it covered.

First time with new owners. I requested Camarones Ranchero very good… Plenty of shrimp tender & not over cooked, lathered in a real tasty green sauce. Going to try seafood enchalida next. A forth star will come.

Don’t let the atmosphere fool you. This place serves amazing, fresh food. The back room is slightly cozier than the front. Great salsa bar.

The best reason to get off I-5 @ Rogue River! I love everything about this place! I come here at least once a week on my way home from a job I do nearby. Everything I have tried so far is excellent, unique but also authentic. The Barbacoa and Elpastor are my favorite. The owners Julio & Laura are always there working alongside one of the friendliest staffs I have ever met. The prices are left over from the eighties. I haven’t had a $ 10 meal this good in a really long time! If you like traditional margaritas you are on luck. A must for anyone in the area that likes traditional authentic Mexican food. They have a fairly extensive menu for a taqueria and a really good salsa bar. I have eaten here five times now and never had one single negative experience! Treat yourself!

My honey is VERY picky(let’s say food snob) and he was purely satisfied with the tacos. A rare thing to see him this happy with food in southern Oregon as there isn’t a great selection. I had the huarache. YUM!

Awesome authentic Mexican food and service! The people were so nice and friendly. Warning: The Torta La Guacamaya is bigger than your head! The Horchata and Sangria were the best we’ve ever had!!!

HOLYMACKEREL — THISPLACEISTHEREALDEAL {Note: address of this restaurant is listed online as the town of Grants Pass but it appears to be in the community of Rogue River, which is JUSTBEFORE Grants Pass if you are heading North on I-5.} we asked the bearded dude at the gas station in Rogue River about the Mexican restaurant nearby — just across the river: Taqueria La Guacamaya… I asked him if it was AUTHENTIC and he said he has burritos there regularly and loved it, so over the bridge we went. we enjoyed an assortment of foods– carnitas taco, carnitas and chicken tamales, chiles rellenos, wow, nothing disappointed. I have never had a ‘huarache’ which turned out to be a large thin, rimmed ‘sandal sole’ made of masa covered with all sorts of great stuff, including what I think was thin strips of pickled serrano, but I’m not sure… whatever it was, it was a great addition. I spent 25 years in san diego, so I know good mexican cuisine and this place serves top notch food. it’s easy to make greasy food within this genre and the chef here has cut no corners the typical way(cheap mexican joints use cheap fryer grease — and don’t change it often –and low grade american cheese). Taqueria La Guacamaya uses quality cheeses including cotija cheese(and it does make a difference!!) and I could tell a lot of extra prep was involved in the creation of each dish. the salsa bar included raw onion, pickled carrots, fresh cilantro, fresh-chopped onion and some fiery salsas. staff was friendly and accommodating. the bathroom was decorated nicely and was rather lovely(and I assure you this is the only time I have used that term to describe a bathroom in a Mexican restaurant!) we took some tamales and I’m so glad I did.(I would have kicked myself all the way to Portland if I hadn’t…) if you are on a road trip, starve yourself and head in to Rogue River, you will love it. dannyZ

The best mexican food in the Rogue Valley. If you are a chorizo lover, it is the best. I always order the mini tacos and used to get a variety, but their homemade chorizo has me not wanting any other variety! I live in Portland area and am compelled to go there every time I’m in town. On my last trip, I discovered their tamales, which are loaded with shredded pork and extremely moist. The salsa bar has something for everyone with homemade selections that range from mild to hot. I personally love the avocado salsa and a mix of others. If you haven’t been here yet, you are truly missing out!!!

Came here with the Moon Glo bunch and we had a great time! My husband and I LOVED their salsa bar with fresh condiments of pickled veggies, cilantro, onions, etc. Their bean dip is also fantastic. Their salsa was so good. My husband got their 4 tacos plate with carnitas, carne asada, and barbacoa. The barbacoa was both of our favorites. I had the Chille Relleno with rice and beans. They have a choice of refried, black beans, or whole pinto beans. Everything on my plate was delicious. No one was disappointed with what they got. Thanks for a good time!

Informal and clean. Great flavors, low prices, and just good food. Homemade tortillas! Perfect for a good lunch — we’ll go back for dinner soon.
