This is the standout location in the town of Granville which boasts a population of 300. It sits in the middle of their main street which looks straight out of an old movie set and is maybe a half a mile long. Many of the store fronts are just part of the historical walking tour, and are set up with mannequins and are not actual stores inside. The General Store is fun and exactly what you’d expect with old time candy and knick knacks for sale with a food and ice cream counter at the back. Upstairs boasts an entire Christmas section as well. We were lucky enough to come for the family-style dinner and live radio-broadcast bluegrass music performance. I would give the food 2-stars, as it was mostly canned vegetables with overly rich mac & cheese and fried chicken, but the music performance was so phenomenal it bumped this review way up there. Plus the store itself is a lovely gem. If you can skip the dinner, please do, but I don’t think there is much else to eat in town and it may be required in order to stay for the bluegrass.

Just a stone’s throw from the banks of the Cumberland River stands the T. B. Sutton General Store. Built in 1800’s, it continuously served the families of the Granville, Tennessee area until the 1970’s. The two story building’s unique style features a balcony with many of the products the store offered for sale during its 90 years of service. The original building has much of the same interior fixtures it had at the turn of the 20th century. The store contains a dining room offering family style dining for groups of 40 by reservation.
