Horse ‘n Around Stables At Waterloo

Had a nice hour ride on Sonny. Having zero riding experience, I felt very comfortable with our Trail Boss Kaitlyn. She kept a slow pace as I asked and pointed out some wildlife. The horses were well cared for and the scenery is gorgeous at Waterloo Recreation.

This is a review for the Pinckney location. First of all, Sherri is warm, inviting and a genuinely nice person to talk to. I had initially emailed and she recommended I call in to finalize the details. A quick phone call and we were set, we had the date and time ironed out.
Fast forward to the day of the ride, the weather had made a turn for the worse so Sherri had given me a call. She gave me the option of cancelling but when I said I was from out of town and really looking forward to it, she said we would make it work. Luckily, when I did arrive at her Ranch, the rain had cleared up.
Both my girlfriend and I are novice riders. In fact, this was the first time I had even been near a horse. However, she immediately put us at ease and gave us clear instructions and told us how to ride. The horses were extremely well trained and unlike other stables, we actually rode the horses through real trails. I was in full control and was really riding a horse on my own. We were accompanied by Caitlin, who guided us and made sure we were safe at all times. She never rushed us, and was great at conversing with us and answering our questions.
All in all a wonderful expierence, and one I will never forget. We only paid for an hour ride but the entire expierence lasted almost two full hours! Not once did Sherri or Caitlin rush us or push us to go faster. It was a beautiful relaxing riding experience. I seldom meet people who truly love what they do. I highly recommend anyone who wants to ride horses check out Horsenaround. You will not be disappointed and will have a great time. Charged one member of a 13 person prepaid group outing for 4 rides that were not hers, repeatedly. Delayed in giving refunds, promising to call to set up arrangements for the outing — doesn’t do so at appointed time they give you — THEN gets upset when you say how UNPROFESSIONAL they are. Their retort was deadlines that were unreasonable, they didn’t remember THEY set the deadlines. Cancelled a PREPAID group outing 7 days prior to event, and is holding up refunds! WHATEVER YOU DO DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OR ALLOW THEM TO BILL YOUR CARD. Cash only if you must, however there are better facilities in the area, who don’t have the issues this outfit has. Additionally because they are part of the State of Michigan DNR site (private vendor), they think they don’t have to provide quality service or even follow regular financial laws when you handle credit card payments. Sherrie & Coleen need to learn to communicate, if for no other reason so they keep their stories straight!~ Sending all their emails, as well as my responses to the State of Michigan DNR at minimum, BBB for the withholding of refunds repeatedly to at least 2 members of this outing, that they cancelled because we didn’t like our credit card information being mishandled.
