Cowart’s custom painting

We had our 100-​year-​old Victorian painted last year by Jon’s crew. They did a fantastic job, prepped meticulously, had great attitudes, and cleaned up each day after working. Not sure what the current bad review means, but I wanted to give another viewpoint here.
Jon was definitely not the cheapest bid we got, but we feel confidant that the quality of the work will mean we’ll get longer life from the paint job.

Unprofessional and lack of integrity about sums it up. I spoke to Jon Cowart several weeks ago, we had a detailed discussion on my 100 year old Victorian and we agreed on fixed price to finish painting it, as I was exhausted from painting the front and back myself. When I called to schedule a start date I didn’t get a call back for over a week, I called again and left another message. Again, no call back. On my third attempt to reach him, he picked up the phone and eventually apologized. I had now waited a few weeks between the time we met to agree on a price and the start date. We finally set a start date, he said he would show up with another painter. Well, he showed up but by himself and now he said it would be time and materials not the agreed upon price we had previously discussed. I should have told him to take a walk right then and there but I had waited so long and felt I had no other choice than to agree. He was by himself, as I said and worked for only about 6 hours, we had only 3 days to finish my job as he said he had other jobs waiting so him leaving so early was quite frustrating. He had started scraping and prepping one side of the building and didn’t even lay down a tarp to pick up the paint chips!!! Later that evening I had to go by and spent 3 hours picking the paint chips out of the gravel, unbelievable!!! I called him and asked him to bring tarps to catch them the following day. He said he would show up the next morning with the tarps and the other painter between 8 and 8:30. Well, morning came and went and no painters. I left him a couple of messages and when he called me back, told me that he wouldn’t be finishing the job!!! Probably found something more lucrative. I waited weeks for him to start and now to find another painter at this very busy time is going to be very difficult I am sure. Don’t use this guy, he comes off like a sheep but …

Great communication and follow through. My old worn cabinents went from sad to awesome. If you are thinking about giving your kitchen a face-​lift, I would recommend Cowart’s Custom Painting. Jon offers a wonderful service.
