Mcburney’s Tree Farm

I am surprised to see the recent bad review because my fiancé, his son and I went here yesterday and it was such a great experience! As soon as we got there, we asked a staff member what the process was so that we were knowledgeable about tree availability, etc. I didn’t see any sickly trees (and we walked around the farm for over 45 minutes) and we saw a ton of trees that were 7,8, 9 feet tall. As a matter of fact, we only wanted a 5 foot tall tree and we were hard pressed finding one, most of the trees were taller than that. I will admit, when we first drove up, it looked like a very small amount of tiny trees, but once you get in, the place is huge and the trees are beautiful. I wish I could post my pictures here that shows this. The price was 7 dollars a foot and, included in that price is a member of their extremely friendly staff cutting down the tree for you, carting your tree to the payment area, packaging up the tree and affixing it to the top of your car with their own rope. They had a great campfire going, free coffee and free homemade grape juice. We will recommend this place and we will be gong back next year!

This place is horrible. The trees they have are all small and sickly. We finally found one and the worker said it was reserved. There was no tag On the tree. I guess people come up in September and reserve there tree. every tree that looked good was reserved with a red tag at the top. WHO WANTS TO RESERVE A TREE BEFORE HALLOWEEN? Not me! We drove all the way from Sacramento to get a small Doug fur. that cost me $ 65 .the tree was So small I can wrap my hands around it and touch my fingers. If I didn’t have kids We would have left without getting a tree there. against my better judgement We bought the tree and when we got home we disliked the tree so much we went to a tree lot and got a Normal looking Doug fur. Poor selection and overpriced. they manicure the trees so much they butcher them. I wasn’t the only person that was dissatisfied others were mad as well. Wal-​Mart has better looking trees.

I hesitate to write a review because I don’t want all the good trees to get taken next year.
The place is clean with great service and very manicured. Almost too manicured. The trees are well taken care of and very well trimmed.
We always cut down a tree and typically go to Santa Cruz but this place is more reasonable. 7.5 ft tree for 49 bucks. Awesome.
