Prosperity Lanes

I called ahead in an attempt to reserve a lane and was told it was not allowed but that there would be no problem getting a lane at the time we needed one. However, when we arrived we were told there were no lanes available due to the league starting soon after we arrived. We waited for a lane and paid for 2 games ea for 5 boys. The boys put their names in themselves and mistakenly put in two extra names. I am still not sure how this happened since the bowling alley should have only allowed slots for 5 names. Then, about half way through the 1^st game, the bowling alley employee approached us accusing us of trying to steal extra games and informed us that the game was going to shut off early.
After talking with the boys, we explained to the employee that since it was possible to add extra names, the boys had thought we had paid per hour not per game. We explained that the boys should not be penalized for this misunderstanding, however, the man was extremely harsh and was not willing to budge. We explained that 3 of the boys who had paid for 2 games, were only able to play 1 ½ but again they were unwilling to make any accommodations. We had each paid for our own games and the alley should not have shut off 3 players games to accommodate the 2 players who had put their name in twice. We left extremely unhappy. We will be heading into Auburn or Rocklin from here on out.

I went here for the 3^rd (and final) time today with my 4 and 5 year old kids. I believe in giving businesses more than one chance to win me over. All they did today was confirm my previous opinion… NOT kid-​friendly. NOT adult-​friendly, for that matter. I don’t care if you’re the «only show in town,» BE NICE TO PEOPLE SPENDING MONEY IN YOUR ESTABLISHMENT! I won’t go back. (P.S. — I’m not a «negative Unilocaler» as you can see in my profile — I like giving kudos where they’re due… definitely not due here…)

My family has been here many times together. My wife and I have also been on a bunch of date nights.
The staff is so so. Some nights they appear in VERY bad mood. Others times they are ok, but generally pretty rude if you’re not in a league or a regular.
Its hard to find a good family place to go, that is priced reasonably and can make us want to come back…
Prosperity Lanes is none of these things. This bowling alley, unfortunately, is the only one in town, and we can’t drive down the hill to Roseville any time we want to go bowling. If some HUGE changes were made, including employees who appear like they are happy to be working, maybe the rating will go up.
They don’t seem to realize that to go bowling for our family, it is 20 for the lane for an hour. Then 2.50 per shoe rental. That’s 5 of us, and 12.50. One hour is barely enough time for one game. So if we do 2 hours, and shoes, it ends up being 52.50! For bowling maybe 2 and a half games! Families can’t really do this too often up here, and they don’t seem to think about that.
I hope they will make some big changes soon!

solid alley. clean, fast service, good people, nothing too fancy. the way it should be.

I’ve been here twice. Both times I’ve sucked at bowling, so I don’t really go for fun. Haha. First time I was with friends and everyone was friendly and ready to help!
Second time I ended up going with my friend Shawn and a bowling tournament was going on. I watched instead of bowled and Mr. Terry Kennedy was a fantastic help! He’s an older gentleman and he may not look the nicest, but he sure is one extremely nice person! (Kinda reminds me of a teddy bear)

Went on a rainy day. It wasnt too busy except for the senior bowlers who took up 4 lanes. The snack bar was good. The man who helped us was very UNfriendly. He looked bored and just gave attitude. He must have been is his 50−60s not a teenager giving attitude. But we had fun. Stayed 2 hrs. Only place in the area with a bowling alley. Could definitely use a more attractive building… it appears to be an old abandoned supermarket.

It’s about as close to a «standard issue bowling alley» as you can get — except cleaner. Family-​friendly environment and fairly priced.
If you want to bowl and you’re in GV/​NC, this is your only choice… and it’s a good one.

Spent one of our rainy camping days bowling instead. What a great place! Somewhat crowded due to the rain, but fantastic in many ways. They were able to accommodate our large group (6 kids, 8 adults) very quickly. The women working the front counter was very nice and even came to assist us in getting all the names in right. We will definitely return to this place!

Like others have said, it looks like an abandoned super market from the outside. On the inside, the equipment appears fairly new and well maintained. I really liked the automatic bumpers. We were able to share one lane with my 5 year old grand daughter. The system worked perfectly. All in all, a very cheap way to spend quality time with the family.

This establishment wins for most discreet bowling alley in the world. From the street it appears as an abandoned IGA supermarket. And as it turns out, they actually built a bowling alley in an abandoned IGA supermarket. I’m very intuitive. Anyways, if you can figure out how to get in, after that it’s not so bad. I see on other reviews that the staff is «unfriendly»… I’ve been on a couple of occasions and have never had a problem, then again, I can’t really foresee a situation in which much assistance would be required in a bowling setting. Give money, take shoes and your set. Right? Right.
Plus I love that they have the bumpers that go up and down automatically for my bowling extraordinaire 2 year old… no separate lane required. Bonus.
It’s never been too crowded, no crazy lines and no creepies lurking about apart from the young tweaker on the pay phone with an unfortunate twitch.
All in all, not too bad for a bowling alley.

My mom and I came to bowl here the other day and we had a great time. Granted it was a Sunday, and mid-​day so we didn’t have to worry about getting a lane. The staff wasn’t overtly unfriendly, but they really didn’t go out of their way to accommodate us either (although I haven’t found a bowling alley that does… so I didn’t think this was out of the norm).
The snack bar was great, and offered a wide variety of grill food. I got the nacho supreme, and my mom got two tacos. Pretty standard, but I didn’t go there to eat, so I didn’t really care about their culinary delights all that much.
They have a full bar, all I got was a diet coke, so I can’t rate the bartender.
The wall decoration is extremely lacking and is full of poster board ads from local businesses… I feel like there could be a better way of displaying advertisements without looking so tacky, but I haven’t given it too much thought.
Either way, I had a great time here, and killed my mom at bowling, so three stars for you Prosperity!

This is an unfriendly bowling alley, unless you are a member of one of their leagues. I think their problem is lack of local competition. I blame management for not training their employees to be courteous and accommodating.
