China West of Grayling

As this is Northern Michigan and we are in Bellaire, we don’t get a lot of choices for asian food. My mother & step-​father were coming to visit and offered to pick up some food.
I really wish more places up here had their menus online, as it took some searching to find some badly taken photos of their menu on TripAdvisor.
The menu didn’t have nay of their Thai options, but I read they had Pad Thai and my wife ordered Pork with Garlic sauce.
My Pad Thai was not terrible, but I have had better. The food was till fairly warm when they got here, so I don’t think anything changed in flavor between when they picked it up and when they arrived. The tofu was overcooked for my preference, but the noodles were spot on.
My wife ate a bunch of my pad thai as her pork with garlic sauce was only OK, the pork was a little tough and the sauce IMHO could have used a bit more garlic.
The sides of fried rice were fine, though there had been verbal mention of egg when my mom asked what was in it, and there was no egg, so slight disappointment.
My mother and step-​father seemed to enjoy their curry dishes, so I lament not having seen a menu as to be able to order some more Thai than just Pad Thai.
I would likely get food from there again, but change up the selection.

Excellent food, good portions & gluten free/​vegetarian options. Good place to stop while traveling on 75.

Best Chinese food in a 30 mile radius. Big portions, had the moo shoo pork it was excellent. Most places give you 4 pancakes this place gives you 8. Had to take more than half of it home. Hot and sour soup is yummy. If you want real Chinese food this is the place to go.

Why is great Chinese food always an hour and a half away from my house?! Stopped here on the way back from Alpena and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality and freshness of our food. They were very busy since its mother’s day, we choose to order off the menu instead of the buffet. Had fried potstickers the sauce was delish and gingery. I ordered beef and pea pods, hubby got a thai dish. Both were excellent. Didn’t get the 5^th star because I’ve had better soups and there could have been a little more meat in the dishes. Service was great and they even gave me a little complimentary parfait dessert for mother’s day. Definitely will stop again if we are in the area.

I love this place. The wait staff are so nice and sweet. They go out of the way to make sure your dining experience is A1!
The food is always piping hot and full of flavor. If you go to this restaurant you have to have the egg drop soup. It’s not your typical egg drop soup. The flavor is one of a kind
They have some Thai food on the menu also!

Great Food! Good portions! I ordered there pad Thai noodles and paisue i think and it tasted perfect. Would definitely recommend this place. The hostess/​waitress was super nice and friendly. I will definitely be going there again.

As a Grayling native and a vegan, I must say that this place is the best in town. My family are all omnivores, so being the only one who doesn’t eat meat makes going out to eat together in Grayling a challenge. Thankfully, everyone in my family LOVES eating here. It’s a beautiful restaurant, clean, and beautiful inside. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about diet restrictions. I’ve lived in LA, Houston, and traveled all over the US and I must say that this is one of my favorite restaurants ever. The veggies are fresh, sauce is authentic and delicious tasting, and there is something for everyone. Love China West!

Its good for grayling considering theres no other asian resturants in the area. I will continue to eat there when I have the erge for asian food. But if I were down state I would probably pass it over.

Very good food for the price, large portions too! I had the princess chicken and loved it’s spicy kick, lots of great veggies, and all white cuts of chicken.
We visited at dinner time and there was about 70% of the tables filled plus a steady stream of people coming in for carry out orders. Nice family run place and I will be back for sure.
