Robins Is a fun old candy shop. I go here after skiing. I get the black licorice wheels and I pull the wheels apart to eat them. I also like the fruit salad. The jelly bean dispenser is very cool. The giant gummy snake is awesome. I really like the section of all licorice in different shapes and sizes. The staff is very friendly. They help you when you need help They have great mochi. A lot of candy. Chocolate covered pretzels and candy . I will come back soon

If I could give zero stars to this candy shop, I would. This store may look cute, but prices are outrageous($ 19.95 per pound of candy) and the staff is unkind and outright rude. If you don’t want to leave feeling overcharged and verbally abused, stay away and visit the many other shops in Great Barrington instead. Soco creamery down the street is a good alternative!

Love this place! Great selection of licorice from around the world. Robin was friendly and helpful. Such a great choice of unique and timeless candies. Great destination joint for the greater Hudson Valley/Berkshire region. Can’t wait to head back for the holidays. For those complaining about prices, it’s Great Barrington, folks. Prices are higher in that town, across the board. Don’t fault Robin’s for keeping pace with other businesses. Further, you can get a small or large amount of candy from the self-serve bins, so it’s up to you to spend a lot or a little. And for those complaining it’s a «copycat» of some other candy store… if that’s even the case, who cares? There’s room for everyone!

Nice, charming small town candy store, almost feels old fashioned. But those prices, strictly 21st century. Assorted licorice should not be $ 18−19/lb, nor should the butternut crunch be available behind the counter in 6″ squares only — sorry sir we can’t break it in half! Not often one leaves a candy store feeling ripped off.

Robin’s is a fun candy store on Main Street. Yes, it’s a rip off of Dylan’s Candy bar in New York City, but so what? Candy stores have existed like this forever and everywhere. I will agree with other reviewers in saying that the prices here are relatively high. However, I read one review where the candy is $ 16/pound, but the prices I saw were $ 13/pound. Maybe Robin’s took the reviews to heart and lowered their prices to something more manageable. There’s a lot of different options for people to have, no matter what kind of candy they are into. I will say, towards the back, it becomes more of a tchotchke store and not a candy store. There are a bunch of signs and bumper stickers about communism and anti-Republican stuff. Just very random and kind of stupid. You’re either a candy store or you’re general good store, figure it out.

This place appears to be trying to make a SAD attempt at copying Dylan’s candy bar in NYC but they are more expensive, the quality is no where near Dylan’s and did I mention they are more expensive! Really? What justifies these prices? Greedy business practices like over inflating your prices so ridiculously will surely be the end of this place. Wow.

Robin’s candy truly has something for everyone. Everything from pop rocks, to jelly belly’s, to giant(like 10 lbs. plus) gummy bears/worms/snakes, to gelato, to insect candy(yuck). The store is well staffed, and the staff is always very friendly. They also have a very good assortment of unique gifts; some Berkshire-related and some not. My only issue with the store is their prices, which I suppose they can justify(or try to) by virtue of what I assume is very high Main Street rent in GB. The«normal» candy(think junior mints, m&ms, etc.) is probably 3x as expensive as what can be purchased at the CVS just down the street. Some of the non-traditional items are also on the high side($ 20 lb. for rice krispie treats in sugar cones). They do have a great selection of candy, so as long as you stick to CVS for your basic stuff, you’ll find some great treats(albeit expensive) at Robin’s.

Outrageous prices bordering on criminal, especially when it’s focused on children. Avoid!

Nice treat in downtown Great Barrington, everything from vintage candy, to italian gelato and are known for some of THE largest candy around. Great to window shop and ‘ooo’ and ‘ahh’ but be careful, its very expensive!

ADAM: Robin’s Candy Shop, in the funkily quaint town of Great Barrington, might be heaven on Earth, at least for my inner child who squeaked with excitement the second we walked in. It fulfilled my Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory candy store fantasy. Ya know what I’m talking about, right? The candy store that Charlie walks by and lusts over on his jaunt home from school? Owned by the creepy, prophetic, death-staring candyman? If Charlie Bucket came here, he would blow his wad. In fact, he’d forget all about Wonka and that stupid contest. He’d stuff himself silly on Robin’s World’s Largest gummy bear(a two handed affair), or huge selection of licorice candies, or a rainbow of M&Ms, or a 9lb Nestle Crunch bar, or even lollipops encasing an insect of your choice. Well, maybe he’d omit that last option. But he’d at least think it was pretty cool. This place is a dreamworld. If you’re ever in Great Barrington, do your inner boy or girl a favor and lose yourself in this fantasy land for a little while. Move over Willy Wonka, there’s a new candy-lady on the block, and we had a wonderful time meeting her. Thanks for the homemade candy-corn gummy! Follow us on Twitter @bwaybites

I stumbled upon Robin’s by chance this past weekend after ending up in MA when I couldn’t find a hotel that wasn’t booked solid in upstate NY! I’m from NYC, so while I did find the prices here to be steep, I also realize that it’s a specialty store in a touristy area and I was really impressed by the selection of merchandise! One of the first things I noticed when walking in the door,(other than how the place was packed to the gills with all kinds of colorful candy) was the immense licorice section. I *L*O*V*E* black licorice and have never seen anything like this before. There was a display packed full of all kinds of licorice imported from all over the world. First, I pinched myself, then I got down to business deciding which I would go home with(I settled on Dutch licorice caramels and Dutch mint licorice caramels). They were so fresh and amazingly good, I wished I had gotten a lot more than the few bucks worth I did. Other candy selections include: an enormous Astro Pop, various candy involving insects(lollipops with ants/worms/scorpions inside, chocolate covered crickets), a large selection of chocolate such as nonpariels and truffels, retro candy, a sizeable M&ms section(with the dispensers of different colored M&Ms), jawbreakers, all sorts of gum, lollipops, gummy candy, gumballs, Choward’s violette candies, giant gummy bears, it was a very complete and well maintained selection. Though the store was stuffed full of candy, none of it looked old or faded or dusty and mixed among the gimmicky items were lots of high quality regular choices and hard to find items. There were also a lot of small gift-type items including a portable pen shaped pepper grinder for your purse, a nice selection of Demeter fragrances, gummybear inspired body wash and lotion, postcards, teeny tiny cactii, imported handpainted nesting dolls, etc. This store was kind of like heaven to me. It was everything I love all in one place, as if someone had said imagine a store with everything you love inside and I opened my eyes and there it was!

I completely agree with the previous reviews! This place is incredibly over priced. Be ware most of the prices are not listed so you will be in for a shock at checkout. My husband and I picked out two peanut butter cups, 4 tiny caramels and two large non-pareils for a grand total of $ 26. The absolute worst part is that the quality was sub-par. If you’re going to rip folks off at least do it with good quality chocolate!

While the selection of candy is great at Robin’s, the prices are so shamefully overinflated, that it is impossible for me to shop there. M&M’s $ 16.00 a pound, small children’s and novelty candy items like Pez and wax lips, and lollipops are 2x more at Robin’s than around the corner at The Gifted Child. I mentioned the prices to someone who said, «it’s sad, but the owner just doesn’t care.» That is really sad for a small town like ours:(The specialty chocolates are probably more worth the price, but everything else in the store is priced so high that it feels positively rude.

The great selection at this candy shop is completely irrelevant because of two huge problems: 1. RIDICULOUSLY over priced. I’m talking jaw-dropping«are you serious?» It’s rare that I am shocked by prices living in the city for this long — but boy Great Barrington’s Main St. really knows how to crank up the prices – and Robin’s is the perfect example.(i.e. $ 6 for a tiny chocolate frog)… I’ve seen 90% of their merchandise in other stores for much lower prices. 2. The owner was condescending and rude. …to my mother! Not ok. Don’t mess with my mama. Other workers were nice. But couldn’t save my rating. Will not return.
