The best free zoo in the state. There are extensive animal enclosures including lions, tigers and bears — oh my! The staff works really hard here to host educational experiences for children and maintain the ground. The new welcome center has various learning stations for kids, making for a great outing if you’re in central Kansas.

This FREE, yes, that is right FREE, attraction hosts a zoo, picnic area, butterfly gardens, an education center, and a large amount of walking trails. It is a great place to enjoy being outside, or to spend a few hours while in Great Bend. The grounds are well-kept, and there are plenty of places to rest. A great place to be, if you are in GB.
