My husband and I had been going to Burton and Doyle for about 7 years it was always romantic, delicious, and exactly what you would want from a steak house. We decided to try Union for Valentine’s Day because we heard the food was the same. It was a let down! We sat in a very lit bright back room at a tiny table. They had the most obnoxious remixed club music playing and it was 6:30. Not what you want for a romantic date night and certainly not what you want for a special occasion. The shrimp cocktail was a little fishy not at all the quality we were used to with Burton. For dinner the steak was ok but certainly not what anything special. They do still have amazing sides the whipped potatoes and Brussel Sprouts were phenomenal. The wait staff was not what we were used to either. We waited a while to order, we were not checked on, and than waited for over 40 minutes for our coffee. We got dessert to go and sadly they had changed that as well the banana cream pie came in a greasy crust with 3 small slices of banana, not at all the phenomenal graham cracker crust it used to come in. Overall we missed the romantic steak house atmosphere, we missed the attentive experienced wait staff, and we really missed the classic steak and desserts. Looks like we are going to have to find a new special place for birthdays and holidays.

giant disappointment! weve gone to this restaurant before and was happy with food and service. had friends in town who liked steak and choose to take them there. We called ahead and made reservation and explained we would like a good table and waiter. well got a bad table and had to switch immediately. the waiter was terrible and never asked if we wanted a drink. our dinner came cold. we asked to switch waiters and it never got better. this was a 3 hour dinner which cost over $ 900 for 3 couples. called manager and heard back… still waiting

Service was awful and food was cold. We went with a few couples having read good reviews for this restaurant. We really like steak houses and thought what could be bad. Our waiter was so bad we couldn’t even get drinks or water. Our meal took 3 ½ hours. When our main meal came half the things were cold and part of my steak was so bad tasting I couldn’t eat it. We complained about the waiter so they sent someone else over, but then he never showed up again. I would have complained more, but we were with other people and we had picked the restaurant. We won’t be going back!

Have been there several times at the bar, and it was always good. Well, I was there last night with some friends for dinner, and the service was awful. We got seated 35 minutes after our reservation. Waited 40 minutes for a waiter to come get our drinks order, served sushi with no soy sauce, the quinoa salad was oily. We told the waiter how unhappy we were, so he asked what he can do to make us happy, we said some wine would help, so we ordered wine. I personally thought he was not going to charge us for it, and should not have charged us, but he did. We complained to a manager and she discounted the check, but it was a disappointment.

Unbelievable meal last night, started off with Sushi and lobster Mac/cheese, wife had seared tuna. I had a steak A bit on the pricy side but the meal was fantastic. Not a reserved quiet place, I would say friendly and lively. We sat for three hours then the manager offered us a round on him at the bar. Oh yeah desert was out of this world. The only downside they only had gourmet tea, sometime people just want Lipton tea wit their desert. Will definitely go back

Went with family! Waiter was pleasant but with a little attitude.(Probably because the majority passed on wine that day) Ordered appetizers, calamari, french onion soup, kobe beef burgers and sea scallop arugula salad(special of the day). Everything tasted normal, french onion soup was very sour, if you don’t like vinegar, don’t get it. Entrée consist of skirt steak, lamb and long island duckling, prime steak etc(big family). Again nothing too special. Side cream spinach was horrible DONOT get, just mush. Lastly, dessert was very sweet: brownie with ice cream and mango sorbet. Nice ending! My experience was mediocre. I would say its a less expensive option compared to other steakhouses. So you get what you pay. I would go back, but not something I would crave or praise. Service is again, pleasant, but not the best.

Bartender was nice. New interior decoration and style. Service increases a lot! Their porterhouse steak was very good! They have lots of different cocktails that’s nice too, such as hotel California or the cocktail mixed with Seohoriph 14 years liquor. Tasted wonderful.

New steak house which replaced Burton & Doyle. Went here on a Friday night which was quite crowded. We were seated right away(obtained reservations on open table the same day) in the back room. You do have to walk through a noisy Vegas like atmosphere to the back area where it is more cozy. The waitress was wonderful, gave us a nice rundown of all the specials, her recommendations, and was very attentive to us the whole night. We were in a party of 5. My wife and I ordered tuna pizza and the grilled octopus which were both unbelievable. We then ordered filet mignon and the kansas City Steak which were cooked perfectly. Dessert was an amazing decadent warm cinnamon bun which is probably one of the most delicious things I have ever had. Definitely will be back

The interior is quite nice and pleasant, surprisingly bright for a steakhouse. The staff was originally quite pleasant when we walked in, but we did encounter some issues later on. We had gone for my mother’s 90th birthday and I had informed the restaurant several times of this, when they greeted us they wished her a happy birthday. Unfortunately when the time for dessert came they forgot the candles(this might be because the staff changed mid-meal, not sure why this happened)! One other issue we encountered was the fact that the silverware was fairly dirty and we had to send several pieces back over the course of the meal. Now onto the food! Let’s start with the appetizers, really generally quite mildly if not under-spiced and generally tasteless. We started with the scallops which were not fresh and had a distinct seafood odor. They were served on-top of a heaping mound of flavorless corn. Next we had the tuna wantons, again really uninteresting, good concept, poorly executed. Caesar salad was fine, albeit nothing mind blowing. Onto the main course, we had the steak for 4, it was perfectly cooked, however the filet minion side of our porterhouse was awkwardly flavored(almost like a stale cheese). As for the sides to the steak we ordered Brussels sprouts and asparagus, both were murdered to the point of mush. The mushrooms were good. The only redeeming point of the meal was the dessert, which was fantastic, however they forgot the candle.

Came here for New Years Eve 2015 and the atmosphere as well as the food was amazing! Multiple waitress/waiters were constantly asking if you needed anything. I ordered the filet mignon and it was melt in your mouth good. We also ordered a side of truffle fries, sautéed onions for the steak and Brussels sprouts but unfortunately they ran out of them so we settled for creamed spinach which was good too. They had a DJ, party favors and gave us free champagne! Definitely well worth the money!

This place is beyond horrible. We had a very nasty waiter which was taken away from serving us. The food was as terrible as the service. I will NEVER go back. There wasn’t a single thing good about this place.

We went on a Saturday night and had reservations for 4 at 8:30. We didn’t sit until 9:15. Waiter was selling the specials rather then presenting them. Food was ok. Oysters and clams were great but took some time for them to get to the table. Girls loved the sushi. Fiancé and I got the rib eye for two med-rare and it came out more on the rare side which would have been ok but the steak lacked overall flavor and funk that you usually get from an aged steak. Sides were ok but the waiter clanking his spoon in the dish serving the mashed potatoes was a bit much. Deserts were huge and ok. It was a semi-delicious disaster.

I decided to check out Union on a whim. I walked in early got a table easily. Sat and before I knew it I had three people around the table asking all sorts of questions «What kind of water» «Do you want a cocktail» «Welcome to Union I’m…so and so… I will be your server tonight.» Wow ooooverwhelming! At that point I needed to catch my breath, exhale and make some decisions about food, after a week of making decisions about stuff. Just calm down a bit, you guys were a bit much. After all the decisions were made salad, steak, cream spinach, asparagus, wine I started to take hold of my surrounding. Décor a bit Las Vegas(grey surroundings red pillars) not my preference, might be yours. Music a bit techno, would have rather had some jazz, or something a bit more appealing to conversation. I asked the manager if it could be changed or even turned down, her response was«sorry it’s what the owner likes»…oh well. Service to much in your face Food really good. Caesar salad, Steak(porterhouse was excellent, spinach delicious, asparagus very tasty) Not sure if I’d go back though, since you can get really good steaks around town at lots of steakhouses… without the whole«Las Vegasie» feel.

I came here tonight for an educational dinner. As such, I had an abbreviated menu to choose from, but overall the food and service were great which warrant praise. The restaurant itself has a great look to it; it’s modern, upbeat, and fresh. We were seated in one of the back rooms — it had simple décor with white chairs and tablecloths paired with contemporary-style crystal chandeliers which added an elegant touch. Our abbreviated menu had 3 to 4 items listed for each course that we had to choose from. For an app I had the crab cake, it was pretty good –not fishy and had large chunks of crab. It came paired with a pickled salad which complemented it well. We had two salads to choose from so I went with the garden salad dressed with a red wine vinaigrette; nothing too remarkable about it — good but basic. For my entrée, I went with sushi(I’m not a big red meat eater); it consisted of a lobster roll and a shrimp tempura roll(which they called an empress roll). Both were great — the shrimp tempura roll especially. For dessert I had the chocolate cake; it was simple, but super tasty — it’s wasn’t overly sweet which I appreciated. Service was good, and overall it’s one of the better educational dinners I’ve been to.

Steakhouse row — only 2 stars? Can’t be! Well kids — it just doesn’t deserve anymore than that… And let me tell you why. We reserve on Open Table a full week in advance. But, when we go to check in, it seems that our reservation is very hard to find. Voila — it mysteriously appears and we are escorted to the only table for 4 in the back(party) room. Arguably the worst table in the restaurant. But, although the restaurant is only ½ full we don’t complain and sit down. We are immediately given menus, bar and wine menus and asked for our order.(Don’t we get a moment to look through the menus?) A moment later we are once again asked to order. Our waiter looks like he’s out of central casting(beautifully dressed in a formal navy suit and tie) but he hasn’t a clue — no sense of timing at all. He interrupts us all evening long. We order our drinks… But long before they get to our table another beautifully dressed but inept waiter is asking for our dinner orders. I feel that they have a quota. Turn the table over or don’t bother coming back to work. Our table starts with both caesar and iceberg salads and onion soup. The iceberg was a hit and starts my friend’s meal off in a positive way. The caesar salad is unremarkable and my soup is nothing at all — inferior to what you would get in any local diner. Special of the night is prime rib and both my friend and I order it rare. «No, the best we can do is medium rare.» We give the ok only to be served a dry, medium cooked piece of prime rib. A filet mignon ordered black and blue comes out overcooked while the roast chicken tastes like it came pre-cooked from Costco. Sides are no better. Dry and tasteless was the order of the day. I can’t lie — the desserts were very good and everyone enjoyed them. But coffee was served without cream and our overbearing waiters were nowhere to be seen. Our table had only 2 drinks(total) and no really expensive apps and our bill was about $ 225 a couple. With Peter Lugers and Mortons within walking distance and Bryant and Cooper down the block, why would I ever choose to return?

The facelift was much needed. Now they just need to do something about more professional bar and host/greeting staff. Sat at the bar on a quiet night and had to tear the bartenders away from their conversation amongst themselves, smartphones and tv watching. The staff and service should reflect the quality of the establishment. In my experience it does not

My first visit to Union and I have one word to say to the management and staff. BRAVO! From the moment you walk in and take in the elegant modern décor and are warmly greeted you know you are about to have a special dining experience. We were seated in a lovely booth on the top level with a great view of the dining room. Our waitstaff Rubins and Dominck were fabulous. They have a bar called Alchemy that specializes in old world cocktails that only a true mixologist can create. Outstanding drinks are California Girl and Hotel California. Now for the food. We started with the Angry Lobster and the Kobe beef seated on a hot stone. Amazing, my taste buds were jumping. For dinner we went with meat, the bone in sirloin and the braised short ribs. WOW. To finish this wonderful meal we had the banana cream pie. But this is not your usual banana cream pie, thus was a delicious cookie topped with banana cream, whipped cream and carmelized bananas. Run don’t walk to Union.
