Warning — inexperienced service staff! Pretty good kitchen Excellent beer Could be considered pricey At the time of this article the restaurant hasn’t been open for more than a couple months. I’ve come here four times and was disappointed with multiple things that are separate to each visit Every time I’ve been they’ve brought all our food out at different times… And the PIZZATAKESFOREVER(in my experiences ¾ times it took over 45 mins for the pie to come out) This restaurant has also messed up our meals on all four occasions. Waiters have brought other people’s dishes out to our table(even when we clearly had our dinners in front of us) and bussers let us sit with empty dishes in front of us till we got up and left. The one time I went there with my family. We were actually sitting at the bar having a drink, waiting patiently for a table, when our buzzer rang to tell us our table was ready… Only, our table wasn’t ready, somebody had taken it(that’s what they told us) and we had pretty much got up and lost our seats at the bar for nothing. We were left standing in the front door for another 20 mins with EMPTY glasses and NOONE even came to take them!!! Unbelievable! We actually made it to the table and sat down with the empty glasses!!! My sister had a flight in her hand standing there!!! They’re lucky we didn’t get bumped into and drop it… Very much upsetting, very very much I took lunch here To Go once… I drove all the way back to my office to find out they gave me the complete wrong hamburger! Literally had all the wrong ingredients on it. No one was even in the place, obviously the order wasn’t taken down correctly. Once again poor poor service staff/training and ultimately management. Additionally, The bathrooms are tiny with a little sink that doesn’t do squat for two people… And there were no paper towels This is most likely the management staffs first restaurant and it shows! Things can improve.

Heres the thing, While i thought their food was pretty great the service was terrible. I was with a party of 6 and since its a rather small place we knew we were going to have to wait so we got comfortable. We showed up at 8 and wasn’t seated until about 9:45. After we finally got seated we ordered our first round of drinks and some appetizers. The waitress brought those back promptly but then it was as if she disappeared. Fast forward to after the meal. We are all still sitting their in amazement at how well the food was all saying we would return on the food solely, but little did we know. After flagging down a bus boy to get our waitress so we could order another round of drinks, she reappeared. After taking down the round of drinks she disappeared again. Not being found until after we flagged her down again to ask her about the drinks. She told us she had forgotten to put them in and that they weren’t even ordered, resulting in one of the people in our party to give up on his drink and just not order it. Thats not even the worst part! Another person in our party had a deadly peanut allergy. They have a bread pudding for dessert so he opted to order it but reminded the waitress for the 3rd time of this severe allergy to ensure there would be no nuts with the dessert. Well surprise surprise about 5 minutes later the dessert came out covered in peanuts! This was the 3rd time we had reminded her of this allergy and she still seemed to not be phased by it. We had it sent back and then a new piece was brought out to us that thankfully was not covered in nuts. Furious at this we decided to just take the dessert to go and leave, as we did not want to be in there anymore. Overall i say 3 stars. Great food, especially since they have a pizza oven, but the wait staff there seems to be awful and oblivious.

Great beers. Great staff and the food and Pizza are amazing. Chef def know what he’s doing. Great creative designed place for locals to go to. Something this town and surrounding towns have been long waiting for. White BBQ wings are insanely good and the lamb burger very well put together, everything works together great. Pizza was awesome as well . Thank You Capital Craft for coming to Green brook

So I finally made it here after my girlfriend talked about going for months. My initial impression wasn’t the greatest. I can’t stand the setup of this place. The main seating area is made up of long connected booths which in my opinion is the worst thing you can do in a restaurant. I really can’t understand why anybody would want to sit down elbow to elbow with people they don’t know while trying to have dinner. It’s a seating method that needs to be done away with entirely. Anyway, the menu is lacking to say the least. They have like 5 or 6 entrees that aren’t burgers which was really really disappointing. I had the farm burger which should have been amazing seeing as how it’s a burger topped with pork belly and a fried egg. Needless to say, it wasn’t memorable in any way. I get it though, the big draw of places like this is the beer list and this place delivers. 24 beers on tap if I remember correctly many of them local which is great. The best part of my visit was the sriracha bacon deviled eggs and they were awesome! If you’re in the mood for bar food and a good beer selection you’ll probably have a good experience here. At the end of the day I honestly just feel like this place is a slightly higher end Brickhouse.

Let me preface this by saying that the food was very good, from the appetizers(fried shrimp) to my entrée(lamb burger). The server was also great and was very willing to please. We first sat at the bar while waiting for a table and the service there was great as well. The bartender was very accommodating and definitely knew her beer. The only reason why this place only gets 3 stars is that, the most comfortable seating area is actually the bar where the seats are wide and soft. I’m not sure what the decorator was trying to accomplish in the main dining room but, comfort was not a top priority. There are also bar tables where you could have your meal but, those were even less comfortable due to the very narrow chairs — I guess they’re trying to squeeze as many butts as they can into those tables to maximize the profits. It’s a very popular place right now and they tend to run out of beer since they have limited amounts(I’m assuming). They ran out of scotch as well, at least the brand that I like. Some logistical issues need to be addressed for sure. In fairness, we were reimbursed for our flite of beer due to all the confusion about the seating trying to find someplace comfortable but, all in all, it was a good 1st visit. Let’s see if they can work thru some issues.

We came here with a party of 7, we order bunch of appetizers and IPAs. The Shrimp and the onion rings were very good. IPAs were also good. Pizza was a little salty, but their entrée was really good. Especially the Pork belly, Roasted chicken breast, both dishes were very moist and flavorful !! The 10 Oz flank steak was cook perfectly too. Highly recommend the roasted Brussels sprouts. The only con was their service, a little slow and they need to teach their bus boys that if the customer still has a Fork in their hand you do Not come up and ask«are you finished? Can I take your plate»… if the customer is finished they would not have a utensils in their hand. Overall it was a pleasant dinner, we are putting this establishment on our list of restaurants.

Finally, a restaurant in the area that gets it! Great beer, great food and a great atmosphere. The prices are awesome and the staff was amazing. The appetizer selection is varied and well priced. You must try the pork belly as an entrée, it is the best thing on the menu! The beer selection is like nothing else in the area. The bartenders are helpful at picking out a beer for someone who isn’t a craft beer expert. The spirits and wine list is just as interesting and different as the beer selection. The staff was super friendly and attentive. All of the managers are enthusiastic and friendly. I had a great conversation with my server and the other people in the bar area. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The live music late at night on the weekends is also a plus. We came in for dinner but then stayed at the bar for the live entertainment. I am happy to have a place like capital craft on 22 and know that I can spend a night with a good beer and good food anytime.

Capital Craft is a beautifully designed, conveniently located establishment that does not fail to impress. It’s perfect for a date night, group outing(they have these awesome communal tables), or night out with the boys/girls. Its clean, modern décor sets the perfect tone for the phenomenal dining experience that awaits. I’m sure it doesn’t need to be said that the 24-tap rotating craft beer selection is extraordinary. They even offer flights, so you can try something new without fully committing. I had the Clown Shoes Clementine, which was smooth and sweet. They also have a creative cocktail menu; I tried the Top of the Rocks, and it was delicious! The menu has such a variety of inspired options that I struggled with what to choose, so like my friends and I usually do, we ordered almost everything. I tried the Craft Crisps, White BBQ Wings, Deviled Eggs, Cheese Curds, Clams, Poutine, and Brussels Sprouts. I was with a large group and was thoroughly impressed with the portion sizes. Everything was big enough to share! I will agree with past reviews that the Cheese Curds were the best I have ever had! They were crisped and seasoned to perfection. The gravy on the Poutine was also amazing. We also ordered the Chopped Salad, Pork Belly, Grilled Salmon, and Short Ribs. All I know is many of those came with even more Brussels Sprouts, so I was a very happy girl; I would eat that sweet-chili glaze on anything. I found the service to be attentive and professional. Our server checked back after each course was served and any time she noticed a drink was getting low. At least two managers also stopped by during the course of our meal. I haven’t a single complaint and will definitely be back.

For the reviews below me that show less than 4 stars, you have obviously NEVER worked in the service industry and therefore would not understand that when a restaurant has been open LESSTHAN A MONTH there are always hiccups to be worked out. That being said, I’m nothing short of impressed with this establishment. I have visited in the last 2 weeks they have been open more times than I care to admit to because they are a breath of fresh air to this area. Upon first entering, you’re welcomed into an inviting atmosphere and greeted before the door can even close behind you. I personally prefer to sit at the bar unless we have a large group. Dan, Ryan, & Carl(like I said, I’ve visited a few times) are not only friendly, but some of the most knowledgeable bartenders I have ever encountered. If you are not familiar with craft beer, these are the guys you want educating you. If beer isn’t your thing, have one of the crafted cocktails which are unique and delightful. The menu is handcrafted to not only have an option for anyone(even the pickiest of eaters) but is also not the typical«bar food» that you would get anywhere else. Thus far, I have sampled quite a bit and have yet to be disappointed in the slightest. The clams/mussels appetizers are both far from the typical steamers you would encounter anywhere else. The clams have crumbled sausage that works perfectly with the broth. The mussels are complimented beautifully with blue cheese & bacon in a broth that could easily become my meal, but I try not to fill up on bread to save room for the main course!
First — The pizza… I would love to know where previous poster Dee Z. is visiting in Martinsville that charges less than $ 15 for a specialty pizza. I have had both the happy pig and the plain pizza and have been delighted with both. This isn’t your average pizza place pie and the toppings are unique and top notch. Second — The burgers… Anytime I see a lamb burger on the menu I am delighted, but this lamb burger has trumped them all! Not only was it cooked to perfection, but the pickled red onion married with the tzatziki & goat cheese is nothing short of euphoric. The farmhouse burger is also delightful with the refreshing combination of an over easy egg & succulent pork belly. The best part you may ask? They offer the option of house-cut fries or field greens FORNOCHARGE. I invite you to find me another establishment in the area that offers the same quality and value. Third — Chicken & Waffles… if you have never tried this combination before, I strongly encourage you to try them here because anything else will be sub-par in comparison. Normally you would expect chicken breast, but the chef here has put a unique twist using the thigh instead. At first I was skeptical, as I normally only eat white meat, but once it was served I could see why. The dark meat was so tender and juicy and paired beautifully with the sweetness of the maple pecan syrup & delicious cinnamon butter. This entrée is a delight for your taste buds. I’m not only impressed with the menu here, but the pricing is honestly less than it should be for the quality of food you are being presented. The people that complain about paying $ 12-$ 15 dollars for a quality gourmet burger are the same people whose«refined foodie palate» has no problem dropping $ 10+ on the garbage value meals served through drive-thru windows. Perhaps that is what they should stick to, because they obviously can’t appreciate distinctive provisions Capital Craft supplies. Management is not only present, but attentive to EVERY table and«issue» that may be presented. In the long & short of it, I am looking forward to a long relationship with this establishment and eager to watch them flourish. Welcome to the neighborhood & keep up the great work!

If you check my reviews, A restaurant needs to be pretty bad for me to give a bad review. Took a party of 5 to lunch today and we were all disappointed. First, the guests kept their coats on because the room was extremely cold. Someone told the staff and they said the heat was turned up but it was still very cold when we left an hour later. Two guests got beer battered fried chicken sandwiches. They both did not finish because they said the dark meat used was tough and rubbery. They used thighs? Really? Even Wendy’s uses chicken breasts in their sandwich for half the price. Two of us had the grilled cheese. It was fine but I thought the size was skimpy compared to so many other sandwich restaurants in our area. One guest ordered the personal pizza lunch special. The waitress asked if she wanted chicken or shrimp so she assumed it was included. The bill came with an $ 8.00 charge for open food item. They charged for the shrimp making a personal pizza cost $ 18.00! You can get a large specialty pie in the top pizza restaurants in this area for that price. When I asked a gentleman who appeared to be management, he explained the charge, then shrugged it off. Big mistake as I own a business around the corner and take my staff or clients to lunch a few times a week. The online menu shows $ 3.00 for the ice tea but our bill had $ 3.50 for the sub-par teas. Most good restaurants in our area charge less than $ 3.00 for much better tea. Finally, we expected stellar service as only 8 tables had patrons. We barely saw our waitress and service was weak. Management of any good restaurant walks around and checks in with guests. Not here. We did not have the beer and that may be the draw but I would not recommend this place for food. Too many restaurants within a few miles that have better food at better prices.

Food here is great! We started with the fried cheese curds, which are the perfect starter if you have kids as they are all bit sized. I had the Beer Battered Fried Chicken with chipotle mayo. But, my wife’s fried chicken and sweet potato waffles were amazing. I don’t like sweet potatoes and I almost took her plate from her. My sons(ages 8&5) split the adult portion of the mac and cheese and we still had some left over. Being a craft beer place, they offer a wide selection of quality beers. We also found out they offer a discount if you are part of the NJ craft beer club. The inside is gorgeous, but still remains a casual restaurant. The only reason it didn’t get a perfect rating is because of the lack of a waiting area. We arrived at 5pm on a Saturday and there was already a 20 minute wait. We had to stand in the little vestibule which was only about 4’x8’. The inside was already filled with people. With the cold air constantly rushing in from the doors opening and closing, it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

***OVERPRICED***I Work right down the road from this new place and have been waiting a while to give it a go. So here it is. Awesome atmosphere, great beer selection on tap & food was ok nothing worth the price. I think the burgers could be slightly tweaked to have a much richer feel & look. We ordered to go so it was slightly cold but that’s because it was to-go. The German pretzels for $ 8 aaaah nah. The deviled eggs were delishhhhhhh but only 3 eggs for $ 6 is way to much maybe $ 4 at Max. 6 bucks for 1 ½ eggs no(unless the price goes down I will not get again)…The pizza for the price was probably the worth part tasted good but nothing special again. This was my second time here and definitely won’t eat here again unless they change there pricing. But don’t get my wrong it was good to an extent but not worth the price.

I have been waiting really long for this place to open due to it being close to where i work so i finally got around to checking the place out last night. The place itself is awesome looking. The atmosphere has kind of like a rustic vibe to it with wood and fire places. I felt like i was at a ski lodge but a very fancy looking one. The bar was probably my favorite place because it is nicely set up. But try to stay away from the side where they cook the pizza because it gets really hot(i was sweating)! The place was packed. I arrived there around 8:15pm. The wait time for two people was around an hour but we ended up waiting at least 20 – 30 mins. We choose to stay at the bar though since we liked the view. Now, i dont know if it was because it was SO busy but some of the bartenders didn’t immediately acknowledge us or give us any menus until we asked, but hey its the first week they are open so i’m not too concerned about that for the future. I must say though there was this one bartender who was amazing at what he did. I believe his name was Ryan; super fast in getting peoples drink orders and also cleaning up. There was also another guy there who kept making sure everyone was doing good; his name was Evan. So i was a bit disappointed that there were two plates my boyfriend and i wanted that they seemed to be out of(chicken and waffles & margarita pizza) but like i said, its their first week open so i am sure that wont be a problem in the future. I had the Capital Craft Grilled cheese and my boyfriend had a white pizza. The food took a very long time to come out; there was a couple who came in after us that got their food first. Even the server who was waiting on us was surprised we didn’t receive our meals yet. Anyway, we liked our entrees! I loved the crispiness of my grilled cheese! Lol Overall, i feel this place has such a great vibe, friendly staff, good food, and good beer/cocktail selections. I feel this place will be in business for a very long time. I will definitely be back, but probably after the rush dies down!

Girlfriend and I went there on Friday! Food was phenomenal. We started with the crispy Brussels sprouts and clams. Brussels were cooked to perfection, and the clams came in such a tasty broth along with some sausage. For entrees, we both had the CC burger. It was thick, juicy, and the bun held up incredibly well to the meat. The cocktails were top notch, and the staff was incredible. We will definitely be returning!

Went to Capital Craft for the first time tonight. It was their first weekend open and our party of 4 was impressed. My husband and I got there at 6 and our friends were meeting us at 7 — we got their early anticipating a long wait and hung out at the bar. It was VERY crowded and warm, but good beer selection(for not craft beer connoisseurs and those of us who drink crappy light beer) and the bar staff was pleasant even though it was packed. We finally got sat(around 7:30) and started with the fired cheese curds and a white pizza to share — both were delicious! My hubby got the farmhouse burger with fried egg and pork belly. He said it was amazing(9 out of 10) and it came with fries which I thought were really good — being somewhat of a fry snob! I got a Bibb salad which was light and refreshing and onion rings which were crispy and perfectly seasoned. They came with chipotle mayo which was awesome! Our friends really liked their food as well — classic burger and fried goat cheese salad. We finished our meal with the cookie a la mode dessert(not sure of the actual name) and it was also fabulous. And to top it off, our waitress Jackie was pleasant and attentive despite being swamped. Only downside is that they were out of quite a few things by 7:30 including about 6 beers, the pretzel appetizer, the lamb burger, and fresh mozzarella. The mozzarella and the beers were the most problematic due as my hubby wasn’t able to drink a few that he was interested in and a few pizzas that we would have ordered were not viable. But overall, very solid place — good food, good service, and good ambiance. We will definitely be back — probably after it loses some of the overcrowdedness from being so new!

Awesome service — everyone was super helpful and friendly. Great bar — according to the 2 beer lovers I was with, it was an amazing selection. Great ambiance. Decent liquor selection. Needs more interesting cocktail list. Food — this is where they lost the points. Buffalo wings were good: plump, meaty, moist. Hawaiian pizza: the pineapple jam was amazing and showed their potential but the meat was hard to bite and the distribution of ingredients was off. The gluten free crust was terrible but they were open to suggestions. My husband and friend shared a chicken and waffles which the waffles were over cooked and dry and grainy, the chicken was moist but the batter needed seasoning and was oily. Price — beers were well priced. Cocktails were high. Food was on the higher side but reasonable. They get an extra star though because they didn’t charge extra for gluten free which is amazing!!!

Is there anything better than coal fired pizza and craft beer? Oh, it’s only minutes from home, so that helps! Capital Craft makes amazing pizza with a nice selection of toppings to choose from. They have their own specialty pizza but you can also customize your own. I went with a mushroom pizza. You can’t go wrong with that. They also have a killer beer selection for people with a picky beer palette. Wash down your pizza with one of their IPAs, stouts, or porters. But do not leave the premises if you haven’t dined on their fried cheese curds. SERIOUSLY. They’re addicting and they steal the show. The chipotle mayo it comes with is the best I’ve had anywhere. It’s got a nice kick to it. All this and you get to dine in a place that’s modern and unique. They’ve thought of everything here. We will be back soon!
