Glen Oaks Apartments

I been living here with my family for the Past 6 months. The stay here is fine. Below are the pros & cons:
Pros:
–Utilities Included (but management controls the activation of heating and cooling)
— Interior Spacing appropriately designed.
— Location is excellent for commuters (Marc, Metro, all major Highways & Interstates).
— Management is prompt to responses.
Cons:
— Designated Parking for only one vehicle.
— Challenge to find additional parking for guests.
— Safety can be compromised, mainly packages getting stolen and management can practical do nothing about these situations.
— Hallways often smell like cigarettes and you can see the buds laying on the floor.
— Random people drink liquor on the benchs outside.
— Exit doors don’t have locks or surveillance cameras.
Overall, these apartments are okay. If they consider improving the above cons, mainly from the perspective of safety, then they are the best money can get.

Lets start with the positives…
— The neighborhood is safe and friendly. I don’t feel scared at night when I walk to or from my car.
–Location is convenient. Its 2 blocks away from 295 and minutes from 495.
–ALL UTILITIES INCLUDED.
–Full size washer and dryer in unit.
–Designated parking space and plenty of visitor parking. Another plus is you don’t have to hand out visitors passes which are a hassle at other apt complexes I’ve been to.
–Apts are spacious
–No rodents or roaches
The negatives…
–The PRICE is ridiculously high!
–We have a major problem with lack of hot water. We have called and complained without resolution of the problem.
–Even though I feel safe, there have been multiple car thefts
–The floors are old and sunken in. They just are not even.
–There is a lack of privacy because the walls are paper thin.
–At times there are groups that sit out smoking and leave there mess behind
I would say that the pros outweigh the cons. No apt complex is perfect. I would recommend this place to others. I don’t know if I will continue to live here, but it def isn’t a bad place to stay.
