This place has been closed for over a year now. They used to have a sign that said they had fire damage and would open soon. That sign hung up for a few months, then disappeared before winter last year. I peek inside and nothing has changed at all. Who knows what they will do with the space.

This was a decent place but service was lacking. We had to wait a while for the check and it wasn’t really that busy. Plus, I remembered that our waitress got my friend’s order wrong at the time. The food was decent but nothing spectacular or amazing. Like people said in the other reviews, this is basically a slightly better version of TGIFridays or Applebee’s.

Lousy service(waiter disappeared), though he gave us free drinks(maybe forgot to ring it up). Food’s OK. Half-rack ribs was really quarter-rack. Live jazz music maybe 2 levels better than high school band. Crowd is fun to watch– the occasional tipsy, bebopping patron walks around and smiles at everybody.

Maybe good for Thursday Jazz. Great for dinner with a friend or two before 7pm. Not good for a classy spot with music. I usually meet a buddy who lives in Annapolis here. The place is great to meet up with friends before say 6pm. After 6pm the place turns kinda ghetto. We recently went on a Friday night to partake of the newly renovated dance floor. We arrived around 9pm and were seated for a meal, by 10pm some guys were sitting at tables and dancing between the tables. One guy was pumping the floor. Another one took of his shirt and only had on his white t-shirt. Most of the gentlemen [guys in professional attire] were gone by 10pm and individuals in sweats and jeans arrived. If you want another party hangout spot, this is the«evening» restaurant for you. If you want a classy place with music, I don’t recommend going. Oh yeah, the waiter said that Thursday nights is live jazz and a different crowd so Thursday may be a good day to go.

Casual place to eat that serves standard, American, TGIFridays-type food. It can get a bit sceney during happy hour and weekend nights so be aware. People go to pretty much be seen during this times and it can be crowded. The people watching is great though. Happy Hour specials are pretty good and the portions are huge. The BBQ Chicken Sandwich was a go to favorite and I liked the Buffalo Wings, Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls(!), and Chinolatino Eggrolls. Crispy fried fatty goodness. Depending on the bartender, drinks can be good and strong. This is a place you’d go to for the aforementioned times and for sporting events if you want noise and atmosphere and entertainment. This Jaspers is easier to get a table at than the Largo one especially at brunch and though packed is less sceney. I used to also go here alot for brunch. Made-to-order fajitas, omelettes, and waffles were the draw for me.

OMG! Don’t let this nice place fool you into thinking that you’ll get great services. First of all, sports fan will love the bar area because of the 12 large-screen TV’s. Just be sure to be prepared for all those cheers and boos and all those noises associated with sports. Secondly, it’s a hit or miss with food or drinks. My food came out great(hence the extra star). Now, if only I could remember the name of my food. Something about BBQ or hickory burger. Or was that chicken? Whatever, it was great. My friends didn’t quite have a pleasant dining experience. The reason why I can’t remember the name of my dish because the end of our dining experience was appalling. Our waitress messed up on our bill. When we asked her to correct the mistake, she let out a big«do I have to?» sigh. Yes, ma’am, you have to! Then, she did something on the correction that ended up with additional corrrections. Of course, the waitress wasn’t happy about it. While this was happening, I had ordered a take-out for my partner when I had placed my order. The waitress kept telling me that my take-out would be ready in just a few minutes. She continued to «assure» me that it would be ready 3 times. We were still waiting 30 minutes after our food was cleared off the table. Overall, it got so bad that we had to call the manager over. That wasn’t all. My order for my partner was wrong. So, again, we waited longer. Seeing the other reviews here, Jasper’s really need to straighten up their customer service.

edit — see below — don’t bother. Pros: Tasty 6-layer chocolate cake, veggie burger and spinach dip. (the second time around, the cake and veggie burger failed.) Cons: Fishy crab dip, and poorly de-veined shrimp… not up to par for SoMD. Hit or miss, but there is a definite home-cooked feel and there are a lot of options. I think that once they get through a few growing pains, they could be excellent. Plus, I like the 12-screen bar area… That might push them into another region as far as restaurant types is concerned. edit: — I went back there again, and things have taken a downwards turn. Here’s a brief laundry list of what happened. Veggie burger came out spicy-hot. worked for me, I love spicy hot things, but not what I, or my wife(who is not as fond of the spicy food as I am) ordered. She sent hers back, as it was inedible for her. Server was good about drink refills, but had a poor memory for both the specials, the veggie of the day, and our orders — items requested didn’t make it without prodding, like dressing for mother in law’s salad, ketchup for the burger, left croutons on father in law’s salad, brought tonic wate rrather than soda water, neglected to leave onions off of baked potato. Father in law’s chicken looked pretty dry. Mother in-laws steak looked nicely done. Baked potatoes were tasty, as were my garlic mashed. Last time’s delicious chocolate layer cake suffered a bit from freezer burn/refrigeration issues. Kitchen Manager wasn’t very attentive to his staff Floor in the Kitchen(visible through large windows) is filthy. Wait staff doing prep work in booths behind us — clattering silverware, chatting loudly and cell phone constantly going off. I don’t know why we were seated in the work area, as there were many tables and booths located far away from kitchen-style hubbub. A lot of aggressive hustle to get us through our meal and out the door. Unless someone lets us know otherwise, we won’t be visiting again. Not bad enough for an active boycott, but as my wife said, it had all of the style and panache of an Applebee’s. Not much going for it at all — but the bar side still has all of those large TVs — maybe the sports bar is better than the restaurant.

I’ve been to Jasper’s twice, but only once to this particular location. But, I was not impressed either time. Both times I’ve been to Jasper’s has been for work lunches. Both times, the restaurant seemed like it was a serious hardship for us to bring a group of about 20 there. I could understand this at a small restaurant, but both Jasper’s are huge. The menu is quite similar to restaurants such as Applebee’s and TGI Fridays. The prices for lunch are not bad, but the quality of the food is pretty mediocre. It’s not bad, but nothing special.

A great casual dinner place to grab a bite to eat anytime of day. This is one of the few places that opens til late at night(1am M-Th, 2AM F-Sa and midnight on Sundays). The customers looked like they’re comfortable there, which is possible by the very friendly and attentive wait staff. WOuld give them more stars but the kitchen staff kept messing up people’s orders when I was there last time and it took forever for our food to come. A wide selection of exotic-looking and very sweet drinks, and the meals are tasty no matter what you ordered. This place had enough options even for my vegan friend. Good non-chain restaurant to grab a hearty meal in a casual atmosphere.
