The food is a good and the price is great. With that being said you get what you pay for. The food selection isn’t that big but if you’re only payin $ 7.50-%10.00 maximum you can’t complain for so much. 4 stars…

If you see this buffet, run away from this place, unless you have a pallet stuffed with melted wax. First, if you want Alaskan crab legs, they only put one small batch out every hour and some dude is always grabbing them all up and leaving everyone else without. If you ask the waitress from more they will say soon, but the crab legs never come out. They claim the food is Asian, but it more like a mediocre serving of less than appealing of horse crap. If you truly don’t know what real Asian or sushi cuisine is, then this place would not be so bad for you. But then again you probably think a great burger can be obtained at McDonald’s. O yea, don’t park in the back of this mall or any other shady area, cars are likely to get broken into.

One of two Chinese buffets that I have visited in the CP area. This is the worse of the two. They have what you would expect a place like this to have. Cheap but… The food is downright gross.

My name is Su K. and I have a problem. When I’m stuck in a cycle of mediocre eats, I’ll continue to eat at average or below average places one after the other. Granted, having a 4.5 month old during a recession(oops, Bush won’t like that I used the R word) limits my budget but I need an intervention b/c my apparent self hatred led me to eat at NY Buffet. Food — Dinner buffet is $ 10.95. I must say, I was impressed that they have no less than 9 dishes with some form of artificial crab meat in it — way to stretch your budget and get creative during tough economic times NY Buffet. They have 3 rows for the buffet — appetizers(mac salad, cole slaw, peel & eat shrimp, kimch *shudder*, etc…), Chinese food(typical fare) and American(pork ribs and chicken wings). The large selection is a double-edged sword: the choices are nice but w/so many choices, some of the items have clearly been on there for much longer than an 8-hour shift and as you know, Chinese people are not apt to throw out«perfectly» good food. Service — They take your drink order and bus your table. Good enough for $ 1/person tip. Location — in a pretty crappy mall, so you probably won’t be doing much shopping afterwards. I need a 5 star place, STAT!

Man, what a diamond in the rough. As a UMCP student, I’d head over to the beltway plaza mall for a movie or a Giant shopping run, but never gave much look to the other stores. This place is hidden in the middle of the mall and would be real easy just to pass on by. Buddy of mine rounded a group of us up and took us here one night. This place is cheap! Only about $ 10 + tax for each person. The décor is standard for a Chinese Buffet.(thought it served New York food, didn’t you?) They actually had a waiter come over to our table and take drink orders! Of course, getting our drinks involved him walking ten feet away and filling up glasses at the soda fountain, but still, when do you ever see that at a buffet? The food was good, no culinary awards here, but I’m most amazed at the selection they had. Sushi! Oysters! Clams! Crab Legs! Of course all the various breeds of battered and sauced chickens you could imagine. Add a fruit bar, dessert bar, and a soft-serve machine and you have my favorite buffet in the College Park area.
