We had the brown stew snapper and curry goal entrees. They were awesome. The Snapper was cooked perfectly. We also kept eating the cabbage, rice and fried plantains even when full. We took a piece of cake for dessert and the cake is so moist and delisious. We recommend going and if there is a wait it is truly worth it.

I am from Negril jamaica and this is my local go to for fresh Jamaican food and sweets. The ambience is casual and homey. There will be reggae music playing of course. They offer everything you can fathom from rotis to jerk, escovitch and several soups. The service is a bit more friendlier than most Jamaican restaurants. Trust that the food will be yummy try the grapenuts ice cream and black cake for a Jamaican sweet treat.

I just picked up and ate my food and I haven’t been so disappointed. The first issue was the lousy customer service. I called to order an escovitched fish dinner and a veggie patty. The woman who answered was rude and rushed me thru my order. She proceeded to hang up the phone without getting my name, number or telling me the cost. I arrive 20 minutes later and walk to the register. The same woman asked«Can I help you?» and proceeded to make a phone call before I finished identifying my order. She didn’t say excuse me, I’m sorry, give me a moment, nothing. She hangs up the phone and proceeds to make another call about a cake order. After the phone call, she walks back to the kitchen to talk about the cake then comes back and lets the customer waiting before me know that his chicken roti was ready. She then proceeds to bag his food, then move a case of drinks, then prepare my food to go. I would think calling in advance would lead to my food being ready. She then hands me my food, ask for payment and I give her my credit card. She then hand me a receipt that does not require signature, says nothing, then shouts«Next!». The few times I have gone I have never had such horrible customer service. I proceeded to eat my food, which was marginal at best. The veggie patty tastes undercooked and too doughy. The fish didn’t taste fresh upon initial bite but was edible. The pickled carrots, peppers, onions with the fish were delicious as always. They changed the cabbage and it’s not as good as it used to be. The beans and rice were ok. I’ve have been here several times and never had such an experience. Overall, I was dissatisfied with my meal and the service. I will not be rushing back anytime soon.

Well well where should I start. I should start by saying the Jerk turkey this year was a hit. Big thank you Mr Denny. Well job done. If you have never had a Jerk turkey before you should try the Jerk turkey from weakness for sweetness. My family and I will order another one next year. For Christmas we will try the Jerk chicken.

I would highly recommend not going during lunch, the line is long and when it’s your turn in the line you feel rushed. The cashier was rude but nice at the same time because she said thank you lol she was rude because she wasn’t trying to answer questions clearly she just pointed. I asked her if they had pineapple ginger drink she just pointed at the fountain so I responded can I please purchase one. Honestly I felt like I was being super nice for a nonchalant person. The food was good especially the rice and peas and jerk chicken, you can’t go wrong with coco bread and the chicken patty was amazing! I would visit again for sure but not during lunch time.

Off the break, the women in this place had bad attitudes… RUDESTAFF… one was trying to hurry up and leave because she was getting off and the other one, well, who knows why she had an attitude… she even gave attitude when it came time for me to sign the receipt and all i stated was that i need the merchant copy not the customer copy for a signature… i asked for white rice with my meal and she gave me rice and peas anyway… the jerk chicken was dry… beef patties had no flavor… nothing to get excited over… i wont be back… my mother even said that the staff had been rude to her in the past… appearance of the place was nice though… but i will just stick with Just Jerk on lanham severen…

Anytime I’m in need for some good ol’ fashion chicken pattie, I just head to this place. I’m a sucker for a patty with coco bread(I blame my former co-worker for getting me hip to this addiction). About a year or so ago, I finally noticed Weakness for Sweetness on my way to Bank of America. When I asked the worker if this was a new place, he looked at me like I was crazy. Oops. Anywho, I tried their chicken patty and coco bread… well, I’ve been coming back ever since. For myself, to cater a work party, to bring some to my family and friends. Not a game. Granted, I’m yet to try their food but a good friend of my mine had the chance recently. Her verdict? Two thumbs up. But, yeah, this review is all about the chicken patties(and coco breads), baby.

I was trying to find a good Jamaican restaurant and stumbled upon this one via google. To my surprise the food was very good and they gave large portions. I had the brown stew chicken! Oh and I had some of the homeade banana bread… it was AMAZING! This place is better than the chain restaurants… definitely recommend.

Went today for lunch off the humble… Ordered some curry chicken. The server was a tad bit stingy with the cabbage and plantains. But overall, their prices are reasonable and the food was pretty decent.

The BEST and FRESHEST cake you will EVER experience! When you bite into the cake, your mouth will Thank You for a delicious and moist cake. Every cake they make is made with love. You will absolutely enjoy and love the cake, NODOUBT! The food is epic love too, especially for those who love spicy foods! The chicken is perfectly cooked tendered where it is literally«butter knife cutting» perfection. This place knows their food! FIVESTARS!

Note: This review is for their bakery. We had our two-tier wedding cake made here, and it was a hit — beautiful and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. We gave Denny a general idea of what we wanted as far as design and flavor(I requested a custom flavor), and he nailed it. Everyone raved about how gorgeous and tasty the cake was.

I had the large jerk chicken and curry chicken. The curry chicken was better than the jerk. Both are good. If the food was prepared more regularly it work increase quality of the food because of the freshness. If you order it to be cooked when you arrive it would be 5 stars.

The Jerk chicken was falling off the bone and through my fingers it was so tender. I usually skip the veggies after a bite or two because other places put alot on your plate. I actually wish now I had ordered the dinner to get more sautéed veggies. The rice & peas were on point as well, very flavorful. It was a pleasant surprise that I liked the things I was accustomed to skipping at other places. I can definitely cross some other spots off my list now that I have found weakness for sweetness. I can’t wait to go back for some curry goat. For me that will be the tell all, because ever since I was put on to curry goat it’s all I order. Definitely impressed! My only critique is that the atmosphere was kind of dry. You’d think a place named after a song would maybe have some music. That alone would make a world of difference. Smiling doesn’t hurt either.

I come here for lunch every now and then. The food is great, but the atmosphere is a little dreary. It may different other times of the day. The jerk wingette dinner comes with rice, plantains and vegetables. Everything is usually great. The last time I came I got dried up plantains, which were not good at all. So make sure you watch what you’re being given. The rum cake is really good and also the banana bread. My only complaint is that they liven up the place some.

First timer here. I LOOOOVE Caribbean food and I was excited to taste the food here. One star was given for benefit of the doubt. I arrived late on a Friday evening and its possible it may have been close to closing time. The interior of the restaurant is clean and organized. First turn off was at the counter in which I could see a pan of dried up plantains and a dry looking escovietched snapper. I ordered Jerk salmon dinner, coco bread and veggie patty and sweet potato cake. The food came out fast and hot. As I was on my way to another event I only ate the coco bread and patty. The coco bread was super soft and tender but the veggie patty was blah! The veggie patty crust was flaky and flavorful but the filling was bland and creamy which is NOT what I’m used to. I ate the salmon the next day. After warming everything in the oven it was just ok. The cabbage /rice and peas were good. The fish was too oily, the flesh was not flaky which makes me remember that dry escovietched snapper in the pan and there wasn’t enough seasoning. I finally ate the cake the next day and it was sooooo good! The cake was moist and fluffy, the cake to icing ratio was great and the icing wasn’t overly sweet. Three days later the cake was the best part of the meal.

I was really wanting a roti some jerk chicken… but that maggot story, really turned me off. I have not heard of anything sooo gross. Maybe one day but not now. Update: I decided to give Weakness for Sweetness a try and it was ok. I ordered a fish roti but it wasn’t wrapped and came like tortilla style, where you had to wrap it yourself. It was extremely messy and I just never had a roti served this way. I wouldn’t have minded so much if it wasn’t kinda on the expensive side. I had the rum cake as well it is was served cold? I’m not sure it was suppose to be cold… but it was still good. The best aspect of this place is the ambiance. It feels like you have stepped into a restaurant in Jamaica and if you like reggae its a good place to go on a friday

The best restaurant in this shopping center. My favorite: Curry chicken lunch special with a slice of strawberry shortcake for later. My least favorite: sweet potato cake. My all-time favorite: the limited edition peach cake.(Never saw it again after the 1st purchase.)

Pretty good! I understand what another review said about this place having a nice energy, it definitely does! Very welcoming place :) The food was yummy! The hot sauce was a great surprise! If you know what Caribbean hot sauce traditionally tastes like, you will not be disappointed with what they offer here! But you’ve got to ask for it, they keep it behind the counter ;) as they should! It’s hotttttt! I allllllmost left without grabbing something sweet, which would have really been silly. Though their name is «Weakness for Sweetness» the display case was not the best advertisement of this. But I figured I’d give it a try too. I think the name of what I got was hmm I’m not sure, but it had some rum in it, sooo I was happy to try: D It was delicious! Totally finished off a great meal! I would go back here if ever I am in the mood for Caribbean food! If you go, definitely get something sweet!

Ok, so this place totally deserves higher ratings! 5 Stars because this place DEFINITELY has the BEST, REAL, HOMEMADE patties! You will not find another restaurant within the area that actually cooks their patties, instead of serving them to you frozen. I REFUSE to pay for something thawed out and reheated, no way. Not here… everything is authentic! The customer service has apparently improved drastically, because I have eaten here 25+ times and NEVER have I experienced any of the issues previous reviewers have written about. First off, let me just comment on the POSITIVEENERGY within this place! They always have gospel music on 24/7, and the front door has a sign that says something to the effect of «protected by the blood of Jesus»…when I saw that I was like yesssssssss team Jesus yall! But the food tho. It’s really, really, really good. I’ve honestly never waited here, and I’ve called in to order and came in and ordered on the spot. The food is fresh, tasty, and they give you a healthy amount. I will say that the Jerk wasn’t as moist and I like mine to be. Still, the flavor was wonderful and spicy. But their curry is definitely A-1. Their patties are to-die-for…so delicious, fresh, and perfectly flakey! If you want some good Caribbean with the Lanham-Greenbelt area, here or Just Jerk would be your best bet.

Food is excellent. Unique for the area and very well done. The service is friendly but a touch slow. Food is a 5. Value is a 5. Service is a 3.5. Slow but friendly. I’ll be back for the rasta pasta. Maybe the all white jerk chicken. I heard three orders for the while there.
