I read such good reviews on all aspects of the physical office and how wonderful the staff was, when I first moved to Milwaukee. Dr. Wagner has been my only Optometrist in the city since then due to the professional, courteous and quick consistent visits every time.

Dr. Wagner was great. I liked him. However his staff was not so great. When I picked up my new glasses she handed them to me like here you go. I asked to have them fitted. She tried but was not able to. She asked what I wanted changed so I tried to give her suggestions. She didn’t seem to know how. So another staff person tried. She was better and they fit OK, but not great. I feel like I will have to tweak them myself. Again she didn’t really check the fit, she just asked what was wrong. They need someone to do that. They have to fit right to see right.

The service here was horrible. The doctor got my prescription wrong, and the staff is rude, to say the least. 1. I was charged more than quoted when I made the appointment, and had to argue to get the refund vs. instore credit once I realized. 2. I was told I’d have my contacts in about 5 business days, after two weeks, I called. Was told they were not in, and weren’t sure why, but that they’d call the contact distributor and get back to me. No one called me back. When I called back the next day, they were rude, and said that my contacts WERE there, and had been there for 5 days. Even though the day before, someone told me they were not there. I asked if it was their practice to not inform people that the contacts were in. The front desk person then had the gall to call me back, and left me a rude voicemail saying that they DO call people, and if I didn’t the message that was MY fault.(After complaining to a manager, it was discovered that no one had called me, it was an «oversight»). I cannot believe they had someone there in customer service that would go out of their way to call and leave a voicemail to a customer blaming me for not knowing my contacts were in. When I did complain to the manager, and had them listen to the voicemail, they said, «exactly who I thought it was, I’m not surprised.» WHY does someone like that still work there!!! 3. Picked up my contacts… they were the WRONG prescription. I had stated when I had the appointment that it felt really rushed, and I never felt that I got to the point where things were«clear.» 4. Was told they’d rush the new contacts, and they’d be there in 3 – 5 days. ANOTHER2 weeks goes by… and I called again. Was told AGAIN that they’d been there for days and no one bothered to call me. This place was overpriced, took me over a month and 2 appointments to get my contacts. And the staff was rude. NEVER again. Please look elsewhere! Anywhere else!

Have been going to Dr. Wagner’s for years — since he was up on the 2nd level. His staff is great and I have never had to wait long to be helped. My kids like the big screen monitors where he can show them what the back and inside of their eyeball looks like. I bought a pair of Versace sunglasses this year, and people always ask me where I got them from. Also, my wife bought Prada frames and she loves them. Thanks Dr. Wagner!
