I ordered from Gurney’s for the first time last year(spring 2015). I ordered raspberry, blackberry, and strawberry plants as well as beuregard sweet potato plants along with some seeds(they sell the massive Romas called«super sauce» that I love). Not all of the seeds germinated, but I had enough that did for my size garden. The raspberry and blackberry plants looked like little sticks. I was so worried. However, they really took off in summer. I didn’t get a big fruiting on them(the raspberries had more than the blackberries), but the plants were healthy and very robust growers. I don’t see a way to add pictures or I could probably find one from this past summer. The strawberry plants all did very well. Again, they didn’t fruit well and I don’t know if it’s because it was only their second year or what or I could have been doing something wrong with the soil. I’m new at this stuff. The sweet potatoes grew vigorously. I didn’t lose any plants, but I didn’t get a good harvest at all. We had a very wet spring and summer, and I didn’t have loose enough soil I don’t think. Finally, I did order some azaleas and those were super tiny. I don’t think I will order any live plants like that again, but I wouldn’t hesitate to get their vegetable/fruit food or the berry plants.

UPDATE– year #2 and this is what they sent me to replace the crappy tomato plants they sent last year. I will spend more time nursing these things back to health than if I just went to Home Depot and bought some healthy plants, ready to go for HALF the price. DONTWASTEYOURMONEY!!!

One item in my seed order was wrong and when I contacted customer service, they corrected it the same day. I offered to send the seed packet(which was not what I ordered) back to them or pay for it and they gave it to me as a complimentary gift. I see all of these negative reviews and I just don’t understand. I will definitely purchase from this company again.

I used to think this was a nice family run USA business until the last 2 years each time after my order I received an invoice saying I owed more money. I called and both times got a person with a strong Indian accent. Both times they said never mind, I did not have to pay. I sent an email complaining about the way they do business and got a very lame reply and with bad English. I am trying Jung seeds this year.

Overpriced without 50% discount. Few of the seeds acutally sprouted. Many are also gmo seeds and no way to tell if your purchasing gmo or not. I bought $ 100 worth, $ 50 after discount. After first planting threw the rest out. Went with another company and got 90% sprout rate

I purchased three bamboo plants from Gurney’s. Upon a second review, their website( ) cleverly does not tell you the size of the plant. I was HORRIFIED that I paid $ 30 each for the tiniest bamboo plants… they couldn’t be more than 6 inches high and they were in 3 inch pots. I will never, NEVER, purchase from Gurney’s again and I recommend you place your internet orders wisely and cautiously.
