It’s funny to think of this place as a «find» because it’s been in this location for over 20 years, but I just dicovered it. I live only five blocks from it, but never noticed it. The owner’s son is very helpful and, although not being Serb myself, helped me find stuffed cabbage, cevaps, roast pork, veal sausage, pure peach and strawberry juices, pork patties and many more things. They may have all the business they need, but some more advertising will help them get more customers. I tell everyone I know about it.

D & S Deli is a lovely little Serbian shop with just about anything(from ex-Yugoslavia) your heart desires. It’s only a couple aisles wide, but you can find plenty of great products imported directly from the Balkans. Among other things, they offer canned pâté, bags of ground Turkish coffee, Kraš chocolates and cookies, Cockta and carbonated water, CDs, DVDs and magazines. You can also get concert tickets when famous singers come over from abroad. My friend and I both purchased some smoked meats and Bananko. There was another type of banana candy that the man working the place recommended. We liked it a lot and I’m sad I can’t remember the name. I was actually surprised to see about five types of these candies and they were pretty cheap. It’s even cheaper if you buy a large box! I mostly visit these types of stores in Chicago because it’s more convenient and some of them have a larger selection; however, I’m very glad the Milwaukee area has a good place for people to go when they seek something a little different than the plethora of Polish and German delicatessens. My friends live nearby and were so excited when they found this. They made it a point to bring me here and I’m glad they did! I will probably come back and I know they will for sure.
