Upon arrival it was easy to see that this place is pretty small in regards to othe pumpkin patches. There was a wait for about 5 – 10 minutes to get into the place to begin with. Once inside it’s kind of small in regards to the different activities & they are all smashed together. The hayride was about five minutes(although it wasn’t a «typical» hayride they had benches). The kicker was after they hayride it took you a few feet from the entrance. So close that we walked back instead of waiting on the hayride back to take us back. They didn’t have any apple cider. We didn’t receive as many pumpkin coupons as anticipated with the groupon. They only had medium & small pumpkins. The last & final thing of annoyance was that per their website the pumpkins were 25 cents per pound. The lady looked at the pumpkins & was like that’s $ 5.50. I asked her about the advertised price & she said well its still going to round off to be about the same amount. I asked her to weigh them & rather than the scale being in plain view, the scale wasn’t & it also took her a few minutes to weigh the pumpkins??? Will I go back nope DEF not.

With my whole family with me, we marched to Lark Ranch with Groupon loaded up and ready to go. This is after a Unilocal check in of course. We got the low down on the pumpkins, what was included, what was not free, etc. We took the hayride, found two pumpkins, played in the corn, and had a pretty good time. The bad news was the pumpkin patch was VERY picked over. We might try again next year, but we are not sure.

So many things wrong with this place. Everything is understaffed, costs extra, and is disorganized. The toilets were disgusting and had not been cleaned all weekend with nowhere to wash your hands. The limited staff was completely uninformed about what each station cost. There was no petting zoo, in fact the animals were behind a fence posted with«no feeding, no petting allowed» signs. The pumpkins had no defined size for pricing. They just eyeballed and gave us a guess. The corn maze itself was poorly designed and once you were on one path, there was no way to get to the others. We thought we’d try a new place and drove from Lafayette to check this out. Well never make that mistake again! We’re going back to Exploration Acres to get a pumpkin bigger than a cantaloupe and get lost in a real maze.

I’ve definitely experienced better. There was no petting zoo as advertised… at least when we went. Everything fun was an extra charge-pony rides, pedal cars, bounce house, bungee jumper, and more. The corn maze was one of the worst I’ve ever been in. The corn was all still clearly in rows and had some cutouts. Not fully grown in like others I’ve been in. You get a pretty tiny pumpkin for your ticket price. I see why they had a groupon… and we won’t be returning.

Lark Ranch is a great place to experience fall! I went today, on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn’t nearly as crowded as Waterman’s tends to be on the weekends(I love Waterman’s but those crowds are a bit much). For $ 5 a person, we went on a hayride to their pumpkin patch were we each got to pick our own medium-sized pumpkin for no extra charge. The $ 5 also paid for our admission into their 15 acre corn maze, but we didn’t take advantage of it – I think I would get really, really lost in 15 acres of corn! They also have a variety of bounce houses for kids, pony rides, tractors to play on, a bonfire and a small petting zoo. We loved feeding the buffalo, llamas, sheep, goats and cows! Lark Ranch sells a variety of fall essentials — pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, hay bales, corn stalks, etc. They also have refreshments available — the apple cider is good and is available cold, hot or as a slushie for just $ 1! They sell chili, hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, etc. The ranch is open on Fridays and Saturdays until 10:00 pm, so if you are feeling adventurous, you can explore the corn maze in the dark! Just be sure to bring a flashlight!
