The gf and I still talk about how horrible a stay we had there! The view was beautiful. They were doing renovations to accommodate weddings outside, we were in the way the whole week! had to get special permission to get to the ice!(Which was roped off!) rushed us out of the room as we were leaving for the day because she had things to do! Barely got a wave as We would leave for the day! Be careful a lot of rules too. Read the fee list! Charged the entire week to my card a month in advance. I had already paid in full before I started vacation. You will be «trapped» in someone’s house if you stay here! What a cold fish! Be warned…

I concur with other reviewers: Sandi was very nice and accommodating. When we had to make a change in our dates of stay, she was flexible and didn’t attach extra charges. She accommodated us on a holiday weekend that coincided with multiple area colleges’ graduation ceremonies, so most other inns were already filled with graduates’ families. We thought the food was good too — very good compared to many other B&Bs we’ve stayed at. Her home is absolutely beautiful. The pics on her website(of the common area) don’t do the place justice. The view from the expansive back porch is great and I’m sure it’s just stunning in autumn. A couple mild observances(just to be balanced in this review): the toilet top was dirty and the shower stall is uncomfortably small. The room needs better lighting, like maybe a fixture in the center of the room. Overall though, we are both happy with our stay.

The West Winds Inn is a beautiful bed and breakfast situated in the quaint town of Greenfield, MA. Bf and I decided to stay here for our winter getaway trip to Berkshire East, its about a quick half hour away. We ended up being the only ppl there and it was really nice. Sandi, the inn keeper is extremely nice and very accommodating. We rarely saw her and every morning when we had breakfast, she left us fresh clean towels and a note if we wanted our room fluffed up. The breakfast was continental during the week. She left us homemade, extremely moist breads(blueberry one day and pumpkin another). Cereal and fruit. She also will leave out hot water for tea if you are not a coffee drinker. On the weekends, you get a full breakfast which I hear it really good. We stayed in room no. 9 mainly because we wanted a whirlpool in our room. This is because since we were going to be snowboarding during the day, we wanted the whirlpool to unwind in. The whirlpool is more like a large tub and can fit 2 but of course the 2 ppl need to be sort of average to «normal» size. I would say if one was on the larger size, fitting 2 would be kind of tough, esp if you are tall. The room has a small tv, fridge and microwave. The bathroom has a shower and his and her sinks. The view from the room is awesome, it looks into the woods and since it happened to snow while we were there, the view just made it more beautiful. The house is really large but looks small from the front. The driveway are however is extremely muddy so be careful not to wear heels or shoes you want to get dirty. This may be from the snow melting or the rain. Overall, the West Winds Inn is a great place whether you are looking for one night or even 4 months!(we peeked at the guest book and noticed someone had stayed here for 4 months!) Prices are fair and moderate to the room you want(there are 9 total) and it does offer a military discount. Location is good, it’s a few minutes from the main part of time where there are tons of restaurants and a grocery store.
