Very convenient way to get my hair done for a week of meetings. Just 35.00. Fast and friendly.

Meh. That’s all I can say about this place. It’s fine. I went to treat myself before a Valentine’s/birthday date and was happy to see that they could take me that same afternoon. My stylist Emillee was friendly and offered me champagne to help celebrate. I showed her a photo of what I had in mind for my blowout and she seemed confident she could recreate it. I don’t know if she got distracted or felt pressured by her next client coming in, but my hair did not turn out as I expected it to. Rather than loose waves like I’d requested, she gave me very tight curls at only the bottom of my hair. It didn’t look bad, it just wasn’t what I wanted. More newscaster than surfer girl. Maybe this can be partially blamed on me, perhaps I should’ve been more clear in my request. But still, to pay $ 35 +tip for a style that I immediately went home and flat ironed out was frustrating. The salon is nice and the customer service was okay. But I can do my own blowout better — and for free — at home. I just didn’t find this place to be worth it.

Dear blow dry lovers! Must READ before going… I have been blow drying my hair for the last 4 years every single week in several different cities across the country. This is the very 1st review I have written about a blow dry bar because the service was horrible! I was so happy that a small town like GSO finally has a blow dry bar and I was in a desperate need of a quick fix for the holidays. I was serviced by a lady in blue hair who apparently has been doing hair for the last 10 years. Forget the fact that she didn’t know what to do with my hair but the way she made me feel and treated me. I gave her very specific direction on my hair– I told her that she just needed to blow dry it(no extra curls or volume), wash it twice and use no product because I have extremely fine/thick hair. 1st– she didn’t know how to wash hair– She scrubbed around my hair and not through my hair! During the wash, I could feel shampoo in my hair so I told her to rinse it again after she was done. She didn’t apologize for it, she just said– she doesn’t see any shampoo and soap. I told her that I could feel the shampoo so if she can just rinse it again. 2nd– she called my hair«coarse» — I have Persian/Indian hair… my hair is thick and fine! Not ‘Coarse” so I corrected her and told her that its fine and thick and that comment was the 1st time I heard that. 3rd– I had to tell her to use a brush vs. a comb on my hair because she was hurting me and pulling my hair after she had washed it. 4th– my hair was still wet after I got out of the salon and it looked horrible. I could have done a better job at home and not wasted any $$. 5th– she knew that I wasn’t happy with my hair so she tried to hurry through the entire process to get me out of her chair– I had to tell her to not hurry. She was extremely rude in the end. Lastly, customer service is very specific to white hair in this salon. I think the fact that people of color or a person with a different ethnic background isn’t treated the same. Its okay if you don’t know what to do with my hair. I rather have you be honest with me vs. treating me like crap. As it was pouring outside, I asked to see if I can use an umbrella– at first she said, I will walk you to your car but I felt like she had the worst attitude about it as she was glaring at other girls at the salon. I ended up walking out without using an umbrella. Plus, they don’t take American Express! I understand that you guys are new as March and this is your 1st holiday rush time but that doesn’t mean that you don’t treat people who come to relax and get their hair done. With that said, Blasted Salon– get your customer service in place because you will eventually lose a huge clientele. Try to go to Dry Bars around the country to check out their customer service that can help and guide you through how you should run your salon. You bet, I will never step in that salon but I can’t wait to tell my friends and family about this experience. More importantly, please try to treat people with respect and equality. Most importantly, get your staff trained on different types of hair other than white hair.

Went to Blasted right before my big high school reunion, was so thrilled to find this place. Inside is very lovely, such a wide open space. They give you a glass of bubbles or wine, and they play chill, lounge music. My stylist was Emily, and she was really sweet. But she’s new so she hasn’t nailed her timing yet… so it took a little longer than 45 min, remember to block out at least an hour. Luckily, I arranged to be at the party early, so it ended up being okay. Thanks Blasted!

FINALLY there is a blow dry bar in Greensboro! I’ve been a client for several months now and I couldn’t be happier. I have visited maybe 6 – 7 times and have had a different stylist each time and they have all done an amazing job(I tend to go spur of the moment and will take the next available appointment rather than book a specific stylist). They have always been able to get me in when I want to visit and they always do a great job. I have extremely thick, curly, textured hair. On my own, it takes me 2 – 3 hours to wash/blow dry/flat iron my own hair. I am in and out of Blasted in under an hour and looking fabulous. In addition to the great service, the salon is beautiful. Between the white color-scheme, the gorgeous chandeliers, the layout and the overall feel of the place, its a very welcoming and relaxing environment. While the price for a blow out is a bit higher than going to my regular stylist, I like the fact that I can book an appointment last minute, the quality is consistent, and I know I’ll be in and out in a reasonable amount of time.
