I recently moved to Greensboro within the last two months and had been searching for a craft beer bottle shop and I have found it at Bottoms Up Beverage. I love the Beer Cave and to learn that it is family friendly. Other positives is that it close to home and they have plans to add to the experience in the near future.

Great selection of domestic craft beers. And the owners are very nice! I mentioned that I liked a particular brewery and they ordered new varieties. I look forward to their tastings.

Bottoms Up Beverage is the latest addition to the rapidly growing lineup of craft beer stores in Greensboro. Bottoms Up has opened in a nondescript strip center near the intersection of W. Market St. and Guilford College Rd. at a time when most craft beer stores are opening within a mile or two of downtown. This gives west Greensboro an outstanding option to quench your thirst. At the time of writing, Bottoms Up is focused on their main attraction, «the cave.» The cave is the main focal point as soon as you walk through the door. Similar to Total Wine and More, bombers and other large bottles are featured in the front for an easy grab and go. This section includes a good mix of craft brews covering just about every style, as well as macros from Miller and InBev. Curiously, the right side was filled with standard non alcoholic beverages with Gatorade, Coke, and energy drinks to name a few. Once you enter the cave, you’ll be greeted by racks of four/six packs and larger boxes of beers(Red Oak, etc) in the center. Bottoms Up allows patrons to break up any of the packs in the cave to create your own four/six pack. The selection was superb, and on my first visit I grabbed two Hummin’ Birds, Widmer Hefe, Boulevard Wheat, Allagash White, and DuClaw’s Sweet Baby Jesus. The price range for each bottle fell between $ 1.90 and $ 3.00. I consider it a great value to be able to try a bunch of different beers in one purchase without a surcharge. Almost all of the beer in the store stays in the cave, cooled at a perfect temperature and rounded out with low level lighting to help prevent skunkiness. Outside of direct purchases from the brewery, Bottoms Up sold some of the freshest Hummin’ Bird in a bottle I’ve found in the area. Bottoms Up is starting out strong with a varied and wide selection of craft and standard brews. Eileen keeps shop and offers beer themed gift baskets as an in-store service. So far the store has held several tastings and plans their next(March 21) focused on Weyerbacher Brewery and supporting the pet adoption community. They also plan to install taps and seating, and I can definitely see Bottoms Up as a suburban craft beer lover’s hangout soon.
