If you enjoy visiting the dentist then your are probably in need of other types of medical help too. One hopes the unpleasantness will be minimal, there’s no expectation it’ll be good. And for this reason I must strongly commend Dr. Poole for investing in expensive equipment which reduces the awfulness of a visit to the dentist. He’s a very nice guy, his team are nice too, I always have a laugh with them, but that’s really not the way to choose a professional service. I like going there because I believe they invest in expensive technology to benefit their patients. For example, if you need a crown, they have a computerized milling machine right there — instead of waiting two weeks and having to come back, the crown can be created and fitted in a single visit. Heard of a laser drill? In some cases this can be used instead of the old-fashioned type, and used without any anesthetic. Friends have told me their dentists don’t have these things which make the visit much less unpleasant, solve problems quickly and prevent the need for return visits. If I were choosing a new dentist, I’d want to know if they invested before their competitors in things which benefit me, as Dr. Poole does.
