After reading the other review, I’d have say that the owner and his staff represent what is right with the gun industry. There have been multiple times I’ve come in just to look around for a bit and we’ve talked about the differences between models, calibers and fit of various guns. And how many places still have ammo at reasonable prices? I say go and check the place out for yourself. No need to wave your wallet around like you’re in a crowded bar trying to get a drink. Handshakes work just fine there. After buying a few guns, trading in some others and getting some work done on an AR lower, I can pretty much say that Powers is my go-to gun store.

The owner of this store represents everything wrong with the firearms industry. I am a younger guy, and I walked into Powers firearms looking around, hoping to find a Beretta PX4. Mr. Powers would not even entertain a conversation with me, that is until I pulled out my wallet. At that point, he wouldn’t leave me alone, and tried to sell me everything in the store. He then tried to offer me $ 250 on a trade for my brand new RIA1911, and Kimber .22 conversion kit. I was hoping to do a straight trade for a used PX4, but he wanted me to pay $ 250 on top of the 1911 and Kimber kit. Overall, my experience there was insulting in more ways than one. I just wanted to be treated with respect, and he failed to do even that. Needless to say, I will never do any business at this store again.
