Amazing bar. Great atmosphere with awesome drink specials and a very friendly staff. Also tons of great events all the time. Karaōke on Wednesdays is the best!

I would have to say I am a bit late writing a review for this place since I have been going there for about a month or so. I really enjoy this place for the chill relaxing atmosphere it has. The owner Michelle is a really wonderful and did such a great job of entertaining me my first night out there; that I had to keep going back. Now I am one of the regulars who go there every wednesday night for karaōke. It is one of those places where its good to go meet new people have some good drinks and sing a couple songs. Now as for the drinks its 6 $ for mix drinks and she uses good liquor. When I say good liquor I mean its not liquor you will find yourself hung over a stall trying to get yourself together the next morning or during your buzz moment. People do not understand that the types of liquor you ingest will determine how you will feel when you are intoxicated and some bars just use aristocrat for the well or any mixes but if you find a bar that is willing to use actually brands in their mixing then its worth to check out. As someone who is very experienced with the bar and club scene I advise that this is the place that will be making its way back to a hotspot soon. It has a great location with a great setting inside with a nice outside area for people to enjoy fresh air and each others company. This is a bar/lounge and I know the gay community is more into the LOUD and CROWDED noisy feel but this is not the place for that. It is a place where you can meet friends for a drink and talk about whats going on and have an actual talk with a stranger or long lost friends. I look forward to see what type of events they might hold in the future.

I’ve had this place bookmarked for over a year. It’s not that I heard it was a hot spot that I couldn’t miss(although some would probably argue that). Last year while I was commuting to Richmond for work my company took over some properties here. Apparently I was too busy with actual work to go out and I never made it. My new company changed all that when they sent me back to Greensboro to help the property we manage. Greensboro isn’t exactly a selling point, but I checked Unilocal for the nearest gay bar and laughed out loud when I discovered it was on the next block. It took me over a week to walk down here and when I first arrived it was a little disappointing. I know 10 o’clock isn’t exactly the witching hour. This is Greensboro after all and I figured it would be an early crowd. I showed up on «College Night.» Unfortunately, all of the colleges had just ended summer school and the fall semester has yet to start. The bartender told me it gets busier after 11 and she was right. The crowd was mixed with boys and girls(read: boiz and womyn) including a few cuties. Initially the music was KILLING… as in, I wanted to chew my wrist off. Things got better once we got Hanson out of the way. I left just before midnight and about 5 Kettle One and tonics later. Not a bad night for $ 24. I might even pop in on Wednesday for karaōke. I don’t sing, but I’m sure it will be an amazing show.

The Q Lounge is one of the few hangouts for gays in Greensboro. It ‘s a rather small place and has a tendency to get crowded; however, it’s a good place to hang out with friends, dance, and have a few drinks.
