Great coffee shop! Very clean and great staff/owners. Stop drinking the bitter stuff that other place passes off as coffee. If you like coffee you cant miss it, its worth every sip. Ill have an espresso please.

I have been a faithful customer to the mean bean since their opening about a year ago. I go in about once a week and I am always welcomed with a smile and a familiar«hey girl!» The folks who work there definitely remember a face(and an order!) The coffee is great and prices are definitely reasonable/competitive(cheaper than Starbucks for sure!) I love the modern interior and have done some work up there on weekends. I have recommended it to many people I know who live in the area and anyone who comes to visit me!

Cool Gelato and Espresso Bar! Gelato! It was a little too early for Espresso! All Se7en Flavors of Gelati o ! One was«Soft Serve» I did NOT like the«Soft Serve» at all though they change this flavor quite often, so… These are the Gelato Flavors we consumed and in order which I enjoyed most: : 1. Coffee 2. Chocolate 3. Vanilla 4. Salted Caramel 5. Hazelnut 6. Cheese Cake Cheese Cake Flavor was ok to me though three Family members enjoyed it much more than I ! Nice Space for relaxing! Plenty of Customers(Quiet Customers) I wonder if this place is always this Subdued? The Guy working here did a GREAT Job! Was very Pleasant!

This place is great. The soft serve gelato is amazing. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. With Starbucks on every corner, it is easy to overlook a gem like this. The iPads mounted on the wall is a great touch. Mean Bean is very kid friendly as well.

What a nice find. Most important-great tasting coffee. None of the bitterness from those«dumb» brand name places. Looking forward to having more time to sit and enjoy. Owners both very nice people. If you want to promote local-check them out.

Drove past this on my way to another coffee shop and decided to give it a try. I walked in and was greeted by the cashier and immediately overwhelmed by all of the items they had on their menu. I decided to play it safe with a vanilla latte. The only reason my review went from 4 to 3 stars is the cashier asked me for a tip. I usually never tip at coffee shops, but I am never asked to tip anywhere I go. I reluctantly tipped 50 cents in the end, but would refuse next time judging by the price of my latte. My latte was very good in the end and I expect to return to the Mean Bean in the future despite being asked for a tip.

Came here for an after dinner espresso since I was in the area, and was very pleased with both my drink and the service! The owners have clearly paid attention to the details in this location, from the pads on the bottom of the chairs(less noise and scratching up of the floors… why don’t the other places do this?) through the perfect height and comfort of the seating. I love the TV placement as well as the iPads at every table. Great place for hanging out or having small meetings over coffee.

My friends and I checked out the Mean Bean soon after it’s opening and have been going back semi-often ever since! The owners are very friendly and, along with other employees, have always been very pleasant when we visit. The atmosphere is very modern, clean, and pleasant to spend time in when you want to sit down to enjoy your drink. The drinks are very tasty, I’ve never ordered anything I didn’t enjoy greatly. I recommend the frappes and the freshly squeezed orange juice. The daily gelato flavors are also always delicious. I definitely recommend you visit soon!

Drove passed new garden and noticed this new coffee shop and decided to check it out finally. Loved it! The gelato milkshake was so delicious! I loved the newness of it and that it’s kid friendly! They have a kids area with books and puzzles and table mounted ipads. The only thing missing was a baby changing station in the bathroom. The Americano was great too! The owners there are very pleasant and friendly ! They put a lot of love in this café. We will be supporting this local business.

I’ve been a regular here since they first opened. The coffee is consistently good and the source of the beans varies daily so you get to try a wide variety of coffees. They also have specials on lattes and other drinks on a daily basis. I’m also a fan of their gelato which is also available as a milkshake. The interior is modern and airy with nice little touches like iPads mounted to the walls. They even have a little kid’s play area. If you’re tired of the big corporate chains I suggest you give this local gem a try

We were excited to discover a Starbucks alternative and have visited several times. We met the new owners shortly after they opened and they were very nice. It’s not a place to go if you prefer a quiet experience as it appears to cater more to moms with kids. The last time we visited the barista would not get off his cell phone to fix our order. I hope they are successful and wish them the best. Coffee drinks are good as is the chai. We’ve been by a couple of times when they were closed so we had to go on to Starbucks who offers longer hours.

I had a chance to check out the new addition to town last week. The café atmosphere is great as other reviews have mentioned they have I pads in tables to browse while enjoying coffee. The service was quite friendly and the person who took my order was happy to give suggestions. I tried the salted caramel latte it definitely tasted different unfortunately was not my cup of espresso.(I can’t say tea for latte now, can I?) It is definitely one of a kind so check them out. Service and atmosphere is good to start with and I may have had bad luck with ordering wrong beverage.

I’ve been here twice now, both for take-out coffee. This place is super cute, and placing iPads on the table is a unique & fun idea. My lattes tasted great both visits. The espresso has just enough bite to give it good flavor without being bitter. I have not tried their gelato or pastries, but look forward to doing so in the future. I just wish they were closer to my work, so I could indulge more often!

This is a very urban chic looking coffee shop. It is very clean but again its still new. I really like the Ipads that are at the tables, I haven’t seen that done anywhere yet. As for the latte I ordered I will say it was not the worst nor was it the best tasting. The espresso used in the latte is very subtle tasting but still yummy. It would also be nice if they steamed their milk to at least 140 degrees but preferably 145 degrees because my drink was just barely warm. Maybe I am being too picky but still nonetheless I enjoyed my drink and will be back in the future. I can’t speak for the quality of the other drinks on the menu but they do have all the typical concoctions with many flavors to make your drink uniquely yours. Another thing that will bring me back is the gelato. The owner gave me a sample of soft serve gelato and it was good. I am excited for some of the flavors he mentioned they will be serving in future. Don’t quote me on this but I think I heard him say something about brownie batter and cheesecake flavors. Overall I am very excited to have another coffee shop on this side of town. I can’t wait to come back and sit outside when the weather is better.

Went in for first time and was impressed by the layout. Nice tables, workstations almost, some with iPads to use. Varied menu gave numerous choices. I tried an iced coffee to start. Was ok. Flavor wasn’t robust or anything out of the ordinary. They have a stir/sweenener station at the counter, but they put the creamer in for you. You couldn’t do it yourself. I would say this is one thing that could be a deal breaker since many folks are«picky» about fixing their beverage just the way they want it and not have to explain how much of what to put in. Strongly suggest they change this. Will help a great deal.

This is a great new spot in Greensboro. Free iPad use at tables and a kids area. Great staff.
