I saw White Oak Amphitheater and have to say that this is a great addition to the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. It is smaller than most and holds about 7000+ people. This includes the fixed seats and the lawn. I like the lawn and laying down personally. It is banked enough to where it isn’t uncomfortable. Since you can’t bring your own chair in, a blanket will suffice. I believe you can rent a chair but I don’t know the price. I will echo the issues as some have stated as there are no fixed bathroom amenities. They just had a bunch of porta-potties. While I didn’t use them, I can see the headache. There is ample room around for them to construct a bathroom facility and I hope«the gods» are taking notes as they read these reviews. Concessions are limited but not horrible. They are all at the top near the entrance and above the lawn. They are priced similar to the Coliseum and have the same selection. I would also agree that they were kinda slow. Could be a tad more organized and have more numbers. There is room for this. Would like to see a fixed concession area as well too where vendors can come in and do their thing. The amphitheater sounds great and you can see just fine from where ever you are sitting. Whoever planned to build this on the grounds did something right. A great idea as it gives the city more options to host events. The potential for White Oak is there and I look forward to coming again.

I’m so happy that we finally have an amphitheater option in Greensboro. But, it’s been here two years and hasn’t seen a lot of action. The only other show I have seen here was the Avett Brothers in Fall 2011. Hopefully more summer shows will start rolling in soon. We saw Allison Krauss and Willie Nelson last night and it was a great night for music in Greensboro! Parking was $ 10, pretty typical for the Coliseum. Staff handled the crowd pretty well and the venue was pretty packed. The only major problem was the bathroom situation. Hopefully they can get a better situation than the insufficiently numbered porta-potties — beer drinkers be warned! Speaking of beer, they didn’t have enough bartenders early in the night at the service bar near our seats, and they were pouring beers into cups. All in all, even with the added bartender, a very slow and inefficient alcohol service operation. Hopefully these things will be remedied in the future. We had phenomenal seats for Allison and Willie, right off stage left on the front row. The Coliseum employee in front of us did an excellent job of corralling picture takers coming up from further back, letting them take one quick pic to the side and then sending them back. So kudos for how all that was handled. And, the sound is phenomenal at this venue. Music lovers will appreciate the natural acoustics and sightlines of White Oak. All in all, a great venue for Greensboro. Come see some music here. And, before hand, grab dinner at one of our many wonderful restaurants!

First time at WOA and really enjoyed the venue. We saw Alison Kraus & Union Station with Willie Nelson. The venue is larger than I expected holding approx 7,500. There is not a bad seat in the house as the theater slopes down toward the stage at a pretty good pitch. There are perhaps 30 rows of fixed seats up front then two terraces of lawn. If on the lawn, you can bring your own stadium seat(no legs on the seat) or rent a lawn chair for $ 5. Next time I’m renting the chair, it’s easier. You can also bring a blanket and sit on the ground(oh to be younger again!). Binoculars are permitted as well. They sell beer in the huge 24 oz cans for $ 9. Not too bad of a price considering the captive audience. Tonight they had Bud, Bud Light, Lite, Corona, Yeungling, and Dos Equis that I saw. Moe’s had a concession as well as several general concessions. TIP: go to the beer concessions at the top of the amphitheater, no lines. The bones of the venue are excellent and I hope there are plans to make the concession amenities and restrooms permanent which could make the White Oak better than Koka Booth in Cary. For now, there are temporary concession stands and porta-johns.

Very cute place. Very small. Ample parking. There is a «no smoking on the grass» rule. I wish they would enforce it a little better. I really like that about this place. Once you go in, you cannot leave. They have portable«sinks» by the porta-potties.
