Zaxby’s

One of most important staples of American food is protein and more importantly chicken. And what better Idea than to build a huge fast food chain around that staple. Whenever I travel and I see a zaxbys location I make sure to hop in and get some chicken. Well recently I decided to pop in to the one near my house and I ordered a 10 piece boneless BBQ wing meal with fries and a Coke. I live about 3 minutes away give or take. When I arrived home I opened up the box and took a bite of one of the wings and was struck by the cold vortex that surrounded the wing. It was stale and hard as a rock. I then proceeded to try two more only to be met with the same amount cold, stale hatred. After my disgusting meal I pondered on whether the food was just very poorly made or if the workers had left the wings sitting out for too long. Either way I paid about $ 10.00 for a revolting and disgusting, semi-​frozen box of wings. The interior of the restaurant however is slightly greasy but that comes with the fast food style. I do like however the many options for drinks with the groovy Coke machine and unique ice texture. I also like how the interior is accented with local décor of sports teams. Lastly the workers where not especially good or attentive but didn’t do anything I saw was a problem. If you are looking for some quick chicken and aren’t afraid of it being cold then feel free to eat here.

I don’t understand what people like so much about Zaxbys. The chicken is nothing special at all, and it is pricier than other fast food chicken joints. I would much rather have some Bojangles or Chick Fil A than this. I’ve heard people talk about the Zax sauce like it is some kind of nectar blessed by each religious diety and destined to take its rightful place adorning chicken everywhere. I tried it… It was gross.
Is it because they give you Texas toast? That’s all I can come up with, and the only reason they get 2 stars.

The kiddie grilled cheese is so yummy, I sometimes just have to order one for me too (and I’m the adult). Guilty pleasue is the small banana shake… so good! The drive thru team is great… happy to answer questions and your order is always right!

Zaxby’s has definitely always been a great place to get chicken. Their food is best eaten fresh, right after it is made. Take-​out from the drive through is good, but it is best to eat at the restaurant. Their food is not food that I normally find myself craving a lot, but it is a great place to get your chicken fix if you need one! Their sweet tea is also pretty darn good!
This location is fairly nice, but could definitely be cleaner. The service here has always seemed to be pretty good and fairly consistent.
Zaxby’s doesn’t necessarily have a ground-​breaking atmosphere or crazy-​incredible food, but it is still pretty good and is definitely a good place to get some chicken!

When you have to get something quick to eat, Zaxby’s is a good choice. Nothing special, but probably the best fast food place around. The boneless wings n things meal is always a good choice. Always eat your Zaxby’s sauce! It’s really good.

My fiancé and I visited this place yesterday and were very disappointed.
She wanted the party cake milkshake and I was hungry. We ordered our food, then went to find a table to sit at. Every table in there was dirty, the floor was sticky, and napkins and food all over the floor. We settled on a small booth that only had some ranch dressing on it and I cleaned it myself. The young lady who took our order called me to the counter to tell me that the shakes were to frozen to serve and would have to thaw out «would you like a cookie or something else» she asked. I explained to her that the only reason we came here was the shake. They said they would thaw one for us and it should be ready by the time we leave. The food was mediocre at best, the crew was loud and joking around, an employee who was clearly not on the clock was sitting slouched down in a chair near the counter just glaring at everyone who came in. The shake did come as we were finishing up and my fiancé said it tasted awful. She is a lover of milk shakes and this is the first time I have seen her throw one away since I have known her.
I do not expect a lot from fast food restaurants, but seriously there was enough employees and slow enough to at least clean up the place.

I took my picky friend to Zaxby’s the other day & he is now a fan of this restaurant. I got a chicken finger plate with fries & toast. He ordered a grilled chicken sandwich & couldn’t get enough. My friend told me that he would be visiting his local Zaxby’s in another state very soon! (I’ll be back at your Greensboro location soon too.)

I love me some Zaxby’s! I’ve got two words for you… Big Zax Snack! Exactly… Two…

The grilled chicken is clearly processed too but it does fill a need from time to time.
For our 9 year old, it’s his favorite chicken. I guess they know their demographic.
The staff at this store are very polite and nice although you’ve got to speak real slow at the drive through!

I will not be dinning at another Zaxbys again due to their policy on charging for extra sauce. I ordered chicken fingers and fries and they only gave me one dipping sauce and was gonna charge .25 cents for additional. Now Im not cheap but for what i just paid for the meal they could of at least gave me one more sauce. That policy put me in a foul mood the rest of my dinner. I emailed my complaint and the manager called and left me a voicemail saying it was a corporates policy. Hopefully my complaint went to the corporate office and didnt just stop with the manager at that Zaxbys location. The food was great but for the price they could of been more generous with the sauce.

I generally don’t have high expectations when it comes to fast food chains, and this chain is the poster child for that kind of reasoning. The menu is rather limited, and all about chicken — on sandwiches, on salads, or on a plate. The chicken is pretty much tenders, either grilled or fried, or buffalo style wings, traditional or boneless. The traditional wing is the only chicken served here that is on the bone. So, this place serves fried chicken, but in a very limited form.
We settled on the Grilled Cobb Zalad ($ 7.29), and while the grilled chicken is nice — moist with good flavor, and a reasonable amount of it — the remainder of the salad is rather short of a traditional Cobb — no bacon, no avocado, etc. The house Blue Cheese Dressing was ok, nothing super.
The Finger Sandwich Meal ($ 5.99) was just a bad meal deal. The Crinkle Fires are those awful ridged, tastless things, made worse by undercooking, and then underseasoning. The tenders were not at all bad, but the sweetish Zaxby Sauce ruined them for me. The bun was not one I care for, and the «crisp» lettuce consisted of a single, limp leaf. So, I’d pretty much flip the Finger Sandwich.
Don’t see s a place we’d visit again.

It was my first time eating at Zaxby’s. It was disappointing. The girl taking the order didn’t want to explain what the options were but pointed to the sign. I explained it was my first time there. The sign did not explain what the options were. She did not help. I finally decided to have the 5 piece chicken with Teriyaki sauce. My husband decided on the Buffalo Blue Zlad.
When he picked up the order he asked for a straw & was handed a fork. Customer service needs to be improved. They were not busy so giving the customer service was not too much to ask.
The Chicken Teriyaki sauce was so strong that I could not taste anything else. My husband’s said his Buffalo Blue Zalad was strong and hot. He usually enjoys hot food. We both had upset stomachs after leaving and the following day as well.
We are not returning to Zaxby’s.

My favorite fast food joint. It’s a nice change of pace from eating burgers. Love the boneless wings and kickin chicken sandwich!

Tried Zaxby’s for my first time and I can say that it is «ok». Expectations were met. Food was prompt. Zaxby’s sauce was delish!

I don’t know what some of the other Unilocalers are expecting — of course it’s greasy, it’s a fast food joint! Specifically fried chicken! LOL.
The chicken is delicious and the best from any fast food restaurant, including Chick Fil A, KFC and Bojangles. Everything can be a bit greasy, but that’s what you’re there for. The Zax sauce is also phenomenal and goes extremely well with their chicken and fries.

Yuck. This place is greasy and overpriced. Why not hit up the Chick Fil-​A down the road instead?

Geck! A severely limited menu emphasizing greasy breaded chicken and other food from the fryolator.
It’s hard to imagine that people ever visit this store twice – unless the second time involves pitchforks and torches – but torches aren’t so good around the fryolator. So, just save yourself the trouble and don’t go at all.
