The calamari was some of the best I’ve had. The service was amazing. Definitely a must try…

Every single time, this restaurant does not disappoint! I usually meet friends here for lunch when I’m in town. We tried dinner this time and OMG it was tremendous! We had a party of 5 and three of my group ordered the Chilean sea bass with gnocchi, one ordered steak, and I ordered an ahi tuna salad(you could tell who was from California!). My ahi was soooo good and cooked exactly to my order! It was lightly seared and so very tender. I had the shallot dressing and that was superior! I took a bite of the sea bass off of my friends plate and it was out of this world! Like a warm knife though butter, my fork slid through that piece of fish! Tremendous! Forgot to add that I started with the Maryland crab soup which was awesome! Hot and very tasty with lots of crab. We sat outside on the patio and had the best time eating and catching up. Our waitress, Ginger, was attentive and friendly! The hostess on duty last night was very friendly as well and a real sweetheart! She gave us our choices of where to dine since it wasn’t packed. Another awesome experience and I’ll be back!!!

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner(thanks Alan!) there followed by lunch a couple of days later. J. Corks has the best salads in Greensburg, period. Lunch price points are ok, dinner is a tad steep but you’re paying for the ambiance, or the attempt at such. Good wine selection and a decent bar. J. Corks in on our(depressingly) short list of do-again Gbg eateries.

J. Corks dresses up well for an renovated old lady(Elks Lodge) in the middle of Greensburg. The space is nicely appointed and the service is first rate. However, judging from our two meals, the emphasis is more on attractive appearance rather than great taste. Son and I came in for dinner on a Saturday night. Without reservations, they still found a nice table for us mid-floor in a large dining room, and graciously said nothing about the overly casual garb displayed by my teenager. The menu was interesting and the surrounding guests looked to be twenty and thirty-somethings out for a nice dinner. Drink prices were reasonable and the beer list diverse. Our appetizer Pulled Pork Nachos was very good. Multi-colored chips loaded with mildly spiced smoked pork, cheese and a mellow creamy drizzled chipotle/mayo dressing, rather than hot salsa. Quickly devoured. Son ordered the sole beef burger on the menu with fries. It arrived the desired medium finish with garnish atop, but the word was that it was not very tasty. He regretted not asking for ketchup on the side to add moisture and flavor. My Meatloaf was wrapped in Bacon and sat on a platform of fresh al dente Asparagus and well Roasted Potato quarters. The taste was fine, but the loaf was dry and the brown sauce had a pinch too much salt. Loved the A’gus and Taters. Add back in some moisture to the meat and this meal would have hit the spot. Absent that splash of water, we left wishing the entre matched the ambiance and apps of J. Cork.

Really good food. The bacon blue salad was excellent. I’ve never even heard of candied bacon, but it works. Had a tuna steak on top. I had to go back and get it a couple more times. It was the best salad I’ve had.

Yum yum yum! I had salmon on their house salad which was really good. The star of the meal was the side of pumpkin ravioli that I got! It was so insanely delicious that I can’t even describe it in words! Holy moly!

Wow, I am floored by how delicious this was. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious, we had a hard time choosing. I don’t think you could go wrong with their menu but we tried the pear and goat cheese salad, salmon, crab cakes, and sea scallops with pumpkin mascarpone sauce. All 5 stars, and the staff was very friendly as well. Great, warm atmosphere would be great for a special date. Highly recommend

This place was a pleasant surprise for a last minute, dinner decision with friends. Arriving to great curb appeal and a colonial-esque building, J. Corks is a cozy, yet gracefully charming venue that immediately wanted us to return during warmer weather to enjoy the patio. Nevertheless, once inside, the staff accommodated our reservation(made en route, in the car) and seated us in at a cozy, corner table adjacent to the bar area. From there, we dined… and dined well. For starters, the spinach and cheese dip with pretzels — while seemingly just pub fare — was outstanding. I could eat that every day and never be disappointed… as could everyone at the table, as it was easy to get to the last bite quickly. As for cocktails, the bartender«took care of us» by meeting the needs of everyone at our table and serving delicious concoctions that were all to easy to order again(and again). Then came the grub… which ranged from steak to lobster to fish at the table and prompted bite sharing all around, for everyone to be jealous of what the other person ordered… the hallmark of good eats. All in all, this place was a great stop and will definitely get a repeat performance in the near future. Pop a cork and give this place a try!

The food was good. Only suggestion is the pork little dry which soaking in a brine will help :). Also in dining room the music volume was a bit loud for atmosphere did ask waitress to lower and volume was better which other patrons thanked me for asking to have lowered. Would we return? Absolutely food is good Atmosphere is pleasant as is the wait staff Love the building they renovated it nicely Great curb appeal too

My wife and I went out for a nice dinner and some wine. We sat at the bar. The bartender was absolutely fantastic, he was very personable and efficient. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine and he talked us into the Pork Chop special. We eat out a lot and I have to tell you… we were both in awe with the dinner. It takes a lot to get us to rate a dinner excellent but this one won hands down. Kudos to the chef. Highly recommended.

We have lived within walking distance of this place for almost a year and finally went. It was delicious. We had the wild mushroom and goat cheese bruschetta appetizer and it was to die for. The prices are between $ 10-$ 40 depending on what you get and they have some reasonable plates if you don’t want to spend a lot. Just go here you will love it!

I like a lot of things about this restaurant. I like the curb appeal as you walk in. I like the spacious patio. I most like the quality and taste of the food served by accommodating waitstaff. With a large party to serve, you never know if the server will excel or drop the ball. We were a party of 11 and our server did quite well. She was able to separate 11 checks and didn’t even do the automatic gratuity for large parties since she wanted to make it easier for us. Having had delicious food at J. Corks’ sister restaurant Headkeepers, I was excited to try the fare. The large selection of seafood on the menu also whet my appetite. The mussels were well cooked. I enjoyed the sweet broth that had a little kick to it. I’m not sure why they put the cornbread on the bottom as it was very soggy. I would much rather have crusty bread on the side. The Caesar salad was awesome. I’m a huge fan of anchovies and I jump for joy whenever they are served wholly with the salad. The portion was very sizable and I was very satisfied, but there’s always room for dessert-especially when crème brûlée is on the menu. The sugary shell on top of the brûlée was a perfect match to its bed of custard. The summer berries added delightful freshness. The combination of my mussels, salad, and dessert made for a nice summer meal. I’m thoroughly looking forward to my next visit.

We were able to make a reservation for 6 the day of for my grandfather’s birthday. We originally asked to be seated inside, but changed our minds and moved outside. The servers were very accommodating. We enjoyed the variety on the menu and ordered four of the appetizers and all were good. We were all satisfied with out main courses and dessert. We would recommend the chocolate cake for dessert. We highly enjoyed this experience and the atmosphere outside was wonderful. We will absolutely come back the next time we are in town!

Went for an early dinner on a Saturday. We called on the way and made reservations on the patio. It was a cool spot with a nice vibe. We were sat promptly and the outdoor seating was nice and clean. I ordered the Beef Tip & Porcini Sachetti and it was beyond delicious and satisfying. I also ordered The Stunner cocktail which was great. Definitely will be back here for another date night!

Food was decent, but nothing too special. Service was bad; slow, rude, and they ran out of several things and were upset that we ordered them. However, the drink prices were very reasonable. Limited beer menu, but fair prices. Also, very nice outdoor seating, best for evening dinning.

This place is good for a few cocktails abs that’s it! The décor is so 80s. The good was bland, over cooked veal and fatty. Filet mignon was blah. The price for poor good outrageous. I expected so much more. I should have none something was wrong when on Friday night there were just one other table there.

My medical school diet is not particularly exciting. It involves a lot of eggs, a lot of mini Reeses peanut butter cups, and the occassional splurge of Chipotle. However, when my husband got a chance to visit he took me to dinner at J. Corks, and that was definitely exciting. We made a reservation for a Saturday night. When we arrived, there was a big(read: loud) party in the main room), so the hostess suggested we might be happier in the lounge. The chairs looked comfier in there, anyway, so that wasn’t a problem. Our server was welcoming and very friendly, and did a great job of appearing when we needed something and disappearing otherwise. The wine list isn’t huge, but what they have is quite good– we had a great bottle of Chardonnay. We were very happy food-wise as well. We had: –spinach dip: not the most elegant dish to order, but very good! Great flavor, not too oily. Served with a great pretzel made in-house. –filet mignon: my husband had the filet, which came with grilled asparagus and gorgonzola mac n’ cheese. All of it was great, and the filet was grilled perfectly to medium. Even the leftovers were good. –special lobster tail: after perusing the menu, I was going to get risotto and be perfectly happy. But then the waitress came and described the special, which was pretty much all of my favorite things in one dish. Lobster tails with gorgonzola gnocchi, haricots verts and a sweet corn sauce? I can’t describe how delicious this was– I cleaned the plate. The chef actually brought both of our entrees out to us; the waitress said it was because he was especially proud of them, and he should be. All things considered, this wasn’t outlandishly expensive, either– two gigantic(biggest I’ve ever been served) lobster tails with fancy side dishes for $ 35 is a steal, really. And with good ambiance and wine to boot, I’ll definitely be back next time I get the chance to splurge on a fancy night out.

Wonderful ambiance, knowledgeable staff, and the location is excellent if you’re going to a show at the theater around the corner. Outside there are several areas to eat illuminated by globe lights and heating lamps. Inside dimmed lights, candles, and a fireplace make this one of the most romantic restaurants in the city. They have a wonderful drink menu that changes with the season and their wine list ranges from novice to connoisseur. The prices are a bit on the pricey side but the menu and quality makes it worth every penny. Even with the décor they will not chase you away if you come in on a motorcycle with sleeveless shirts. In fact our hostess walked outside to show us where to park our bike since the restaurant is located on a hill and the cross street was filled. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the parking. With the adjoining bars and parking from residents if you go during a concert then you might be parking quite a few blocks away and that hill isn’t meant for heels. However it is worth every penny.
