Traffic in the Greensburg area was terrible, so I decided to stop at this Primanti Bros instead of continuing to the one in Pittsburgh. The sports bar feel at this location is a lot different from their Strip District location. Also, on a weekday afternoon, this location is very relaxed and not crowded at all. I had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and it is as good as what I’ve had at any other Primanti Bros location. At Primanti Bros, everything goes into the sandwich, including the fries and coleslaw. So it’s piled high and the sandwich fillings fall out as I eat it. That’s the Primanti experience. Service was very good, although it could have been because I was one of only a few customers at the time.

This place is awesome. Great atmosphere, great food, very reasonable pricing… especially for the quality. Lots of TVs locked onto local teams(meh) over on the bar side. Cute waitresses & female bartenders to look at. Judging by the amount of dudes elbowed up to the bar, I’m not alone thinking this lol. So before dropping $ 9 on a crap fast-food burger combo meal, check this place out. About the same price(or even less) gets you a killer sandwich with fries in it, a huge cheesesteak, etc. And you get a fun environment to be in. I will be back many times during my 6-week long business trip.

I got the salami sandwich with the coleslaw, cheese, tomatoes, and fries. It was everything. I love a good sandwich and it definitely filled me up. I wish the fried pickles were more coin like though so they would be crispier but it’s all good they were still delicious. We also got bread pudding it was pretty awesome. Definitely would go again.

Just had one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The black angus steak sandwich with egg. The meat was tender and flavorful. The bread was fresh. The coleslaw was amazing. My mother loved her huge fish sandwich and my dad enjoyed his roast beef sandwich. We all had left overs. Our waitress was very friendly and got our food to us quickly. She was quick with refills and checked on us many times. I wish I could remember her name she did such a good job l would recommend her if l could.

The bar is horrible! No one asks if you would like another drink or a menu! I was invisible after my initial drink!!! The food looked great– however I will never know how it tasted because I had to flag down a bartender just to cash out after sitting with my glass empty forever! I’ll never be back!

Not even close to as good as advertised! Seriously awful sandwich. I don’t understand the fascination.

Happiest happy hour I’ve been to in a while! It was only $ 2 for a decent Cabernet. Primanti bros. has my favorite wings, the garlic Parmesan. They are crispy on the outside and juicy within. The sauce is super flavorful but the wings aren’t drenched in it. I got the hottest ones(xx hot) to take home to Hubby. This location is so busy on a Friday night so you might have to park in the nearby supermarket or bank lots. But the staff is very friendly.

It’s been years since we’ve eaten at Primanti’s and I guess I was just expecting more from such a legendary joint. While the service was fine, the food was less than impressive. As a local, I’ve had the Primanti’s-style sammich at countless local spots. I have to say, the original just fell flat for me. Husband had the steak on his and I had Italian sausage. You couldn’t even really taste the meat on either. No standout flavor, didn’t taste as if the steak had been marinated or seasoned, and the sausage was so bland and boring. The slaw was meh… And the fries tasted like a flattened unsalted baked potato. I seriously LOVE this style sandwich but theirs was so boring! We also had the wings which tasted like they had been frozen pre-floured and par-cooked, and dropped in the frier to reheat. They just had a fast-food taste to them. Again, I’ve had wings at just about every local spot imaginable and these were notably a step down in quality from other local offerings. Have they watered down the«original» sammich to make it easier to open more locations? I just can’t figure how the sandwiches we ate this weekend could have possibly made them famous. Sorry, Primanti’s, but I expected way more!

Love Primantis. I grew up in Pittsburgh and now live in Austin. Texas… but my first stop is ALWAYS here. My go-to is the Bologna or Pittsburgher. Add and egg and you are in heaven! I get that it may be a «regional» thing, but give it a try. Best cole slaw and fries around!

«At PRIMANNY Brothas?» «NO, not the one in GREENSburg!» — from the youtube video, «Shit people from Pittsburgh say» You *should* already know about the Primanti sandwich! It’s undoubtedly the most famous food creation to come out of Western PA — huge slices of Italian bread, containing grilled meat, melted cheese, tomatoes, cole slaw, and fries. Yeah — it contains all of those things, they’re not on the side. Yeah — finishing one makes you a bit of a glutton. No — you shouldn’t be ashamed. It’s freaking fantastic and we don’t judge. This particular location has very strong happy hour game. Beers are huge and inexpensive, the parking lot is packed, but you’ll still find a place to sit. If you’re making a night of it, find out what time the kitchen closes and get yourself a pastrami right before. See what I did there? I saved you the Sheetz line at 2am!

We came directly from the strip district Primanti. The place was too packed and busy to get seconds so we came here. At this place we were able to sit down and dine. I was still full from the first stop, so we took most of it home. We ordered the The Pitts-burger(#2 Best Seller) which wasn’t all that great. The meat was a solid piece, like a McRib pattie. We also got the Capicola & Cheese which was so much better. Very flavorful. Hopefully they will build one near us soon, I would not drive all the way to PA for this. Overall it’s just ok.

My fiancé and I stop here for lunch every time we drive from OH to MD. It’s a perfect stop in the middle of a long drive. The food is always great, the service is always top notch, and it’s a solid good sandwich. All in all, we have never been disappointed. Nothing fancy, just good tasting food, fun sports bar environment, and good service. I would recommend this place top anyone! Oh and the sandwiches are huge!

Went here a week ago on a road trip to Seattle. Never been to a Primanti Bros before and heard that it was a must try in PA. I got the special, «when pigs fly» and it had turkey, bacon, ham, a fried egg, coleslaw, and fries. It was so big that I didn’t know how to stay eating it. The coleslaw was a vinegar base which went well with the sandwich. I also got fried zucchini which pretty much just tasted like oil. Overall this place was good and I’d try something different next time.

I’ve been to Primanti’s more times than I can remember, and sadly, this is my first poor review. The food was good, as always. Hubby had the Italian and I ordered the Pastrami and cheese. The server was nice, but horrible as far as doing her job. She never checked on our food, we had to remind her that we wanted to order a drink, and then… she didn’t even bring the drink. I had to walk up to the bartender and ask if my drink was there. Then, I ordered a second drink… waited forever… The bartender delivered that one. The server also overcharged me for the drinks, but I figured waiting for that change would take forever. Oh, and as we were leaving, we noticed they have a Tuesday night dinner special. When we asked her at the beginning, if they had any dinner specials, she’d said no. :( I’ll definitely visit Primanti’s again, but I’m not sure I’ll be back to this one. The one in Monroeville has better service and a better atmosphere.

You can tell that this is the place to go for happy hour in this community. If the parking lot is so full that you have to squeeze into a spot, you know it’s jam packed inside as well. Even though it was jam packed we had no wait at all when we walked in. We were seated immediately and our server was there in no time. Our drink orders went in and by the time our server returned we basically decided what we wanted to order. The food, as always, was incredible. From the appetizers to the honking big sandwiches. This was my dad’s first visit to any Primanti establishment and it truly surprised me that he couldn’t finish the sandwich. Me, however, did not hesitate when it came to cramming that behemoth into my mouth. Our server was amazing and she was completely in tune with our needs. Before we could even ask for an item, it’s like it magically appeared in front of us. My dad was amazed at the end of the meal, for all we had to eat and drink, the bill came to under $ 30. Two appetizers, two sandwiches, and two drafts from the bar. That is a deal in my book, but of course this was during happy hour.

I had the most incredible Primantis sandwich for the second time in only two months. Yes, I speak of The When Pigs Fly experience. This hulk of a sandwich stands 5″ tall and consists of Ham, Turkey, Bacon, Fried Egg, with the regular Primantis Fries, Coleslaw, and Tomato. The unusual taste puts this one at the top of my list. A must have, because it is only temporarily on their menu.

Finally, a restaurant in Western PA with pretty good service… This is my third time to Primanti Bros in Greensburg, but the first time in quite a while — at least since I joined Unilocal back in ’12. What I remembered liking of the place has not changed — great atmosphere, very good food, and decent service — well it was all there and then a little some more. We all came in to have their«not so famous» Primanti sandwich. I had the cajun chicken version, while the wife and daughter had the turkey, and my youngest son had one with bacon in it(I can’t remember). No matter though, they were all so good. The service tonight was spot on with a chatty and very friendly waitress(just the way I like ‘em). And to top it off, they now offer some really good craft brewing(even though it’s not local.) We had dessert and although the choices weren’t spectacular(the normal stuff like pecan pie, brownie, floats, what we all had we ate to the last bite(or sip as the case maybe.)

Since I had read so many great reviews about this chain, my husband and I decided to check it out and have ourselves a Primanti Bros. experience. The Service: Our waitress that day was not very attentive, we had remind her several times to bring us clean silverware, and refill our waters. The Food: Honestly, Primanti Brothers is overrated. I didn’t understand why this particular chain’s sandwich was so popular, because it doesn’t taste any better than a sandwich in any deli, if not worse. Just because it has fries and coleslaw in it, doesn’t make it good. I get it, it’s a regional thing, and we’ll try anything at least once. Needless to say, we had our experience and we won’t be back.

Good location for Prnmantis. They have good game day drink specials and for the most part are really friendly. If you do going during a game, order two drinks! You can legally have 2 drinks in your hands at once, it will take that long to get to more lol they get packed!

My dad and I googled«famous Pittsburgh food» while we were bored driving across Kansas, and the main thing that popped up was sandwiches from Primanti Bros. I wasn’t sure what to think of a sandwich with white bread, meat, provolone cheese, tomato, cole slaw, and(here’s the interesting part for newbies) french fries, but I figured I had to try it. The Greensburg location was easy to find and has a fun sports bar feel inside. We told our server we’d never had one of their sandwiches before, and she helpfully recommended the pastrami and capicola options. The sandwiches were… definitely interesting. The meat was very good in both although we prefered the capicola, and the coleslaw was some of the best I’ve ever had. The fries themselves were pretty good, but I’m still not convinced they belong on a sandwich. The sandwiches are all between $ 6 and $ 7 which is pretty reasonable, considering that they’re huge. They’ve got a pretty good beer list as well, and it looked like they had some fun daily specials. A Primanti Bros. Sandwich is definitely an essential western Pennsylvania experience, and I’m glad I tried it, but next time I’ll be ordering something with fries on the side.
