I really do love this little spot. It is everything that I adore about up and coming downtown Greensburg and small businesses all wrapped into one!
Hidden in the basement of a building in the heart of downtown Greensburg is this incredible little café. Full of delicious smells, satisfying and fresh food, plus friendly faces! You can’t leave this place feeling bad– really everything is just so good and fresh. Plus they serve breakfast all day long– can it get any better?
When I say this place is cozy– I mean it in the best way to say it’s super tiny. like has seating for 10 people tiny. But man I encourage you to stay and eat in here! I love watching their chefs cook in the open kitchen and enjoy seeing all the bright and fresh looking plates that they serve. From local juices to fresh brewed teas and from chicken tacos to omelets there is something for everyone.
Make sure to stop in here! You won’t leave disappointed.

I ate at Sun Dawg for the first time yesterday and it was delicious! I had the special tacos — Chicken Chorizo. They were delicious, fresh and full of flavor. I also had a side of grilled plantains which were just exploding with flavor! My friend had one of the frittatas which she really enjoyed as well. My only question is — why haven’t I eaten here sooner?!
For lunch I recommend getting there around 11:45, it really fills up fast at noon!

Popped in here after a bad morning at work — so glad I did. Quaint little restaurant in the basement; great little hideaway. Cashier was super friendly; food came right out after ordering. I had a Reuben Dog and a cup of their chorizo and sweet potato soup. Both were fantastic. At first I thought the total price was a little steep (just over $ 10 for this + a soda), but remembered the hot dog was a ¼-​pounder. The dog was a little messy to eat, but absolutely delicious chaos. Here’s the deciding factor — would I go there again? Absolutely!!!

I’ve been meaning to try Sun Dawg for over a year, and finally made it in with a friend today. Based on the menu, I’m still a little confused about what they’re trying to be, but my meal was good, so I’ll take it!
They have breakfast all day, which usually makes me a fan. My huevos rancheros frittatta was actually an omelet, which was surprising, but it turns out that’s actually how it was described on the menu. At any rate, the eggs were perfectly cooked and it had just the right amount of beans and chorizo, with pico on top, and they were even able to supply me with Cholula (my very favorite hot sauce, sorry Sriracha fans). My friend had the taco salad and it looked really good as well. The lunch menu seems to specialize in tacos and hot dogs with specialized toppings, which I find intriguing.
The meals themselves are a steal at under $ 7, and they’re made super fast in a cheerful little area. Seating is limited, but it seemed very clean, and the staff was friendly. I’d definitely make a repeat visit.

Felt healthy but tasted decadent– my favorite! Wide variety of dishes managed to appeal to our entire party, who variously wanted sweet, savory, breakfast, and lunch. Very friendly staff and efficient service.

Had lunch here for the first time today. The pulled pork tacos were delicious, light, and filling. I started out with the crawfish bisque — also super tasty. My friends had one of the Hot Dogs, which looked equally amazing. (He said it was awesome.) The other had one of the waffles, which he enjoyed. All of us left with smiles on our faces.
Small, quaint place. I will definitely go back.

Went for lunch on Monday before noon — was empty when we arrived but it filled up quickly. Tried one of the daily specials (chicken & fish taco) and a pulled pork taco; the special was my favorite. Everything seemed really fresh, especially the pineapple salsa. Great spot for a light lunch.

Found our brunch spot. Staff was excellent. The food very good. I had the smokehouse frittata which I totally enjoyed. I asked for chorizo to be added. No problem. My wife had the Johnny cakes which had smoked salmon and sour cream. Very good, she loved them, I thought it needed a sauce but to each their own. Not a big fan of how you order. Basically you pick your drink from a cooler and you go to the counter and order. Not a big deal especially since the food is really good, service is excellent but like one review stated its a bit cramped, not much they can do about it. Don’t care I’ll be back.

Some of the best food and service in Greensburg. Do yourself a favor and visit often. My favorite regular menu choice is the Locos Mexicanos. My wife’s is the French toast. Daily specials are always top-​notch expanded menu items.

The daily specials are great. I love the atmosphere and being able to talk with the owners is my favorite part of eating here especially if I am grabbing a meal solo I always feel very welcome. I like the daily specials the best. For me it’s a big win to just have one or two things to chose from everyday. This in taken with the fact that they post their specials on Facebook makes them very easy to fit into a busy day.

Yum! What a cool little restaurant with super nice staff. I had a hot dog topped with Asian slaw and my friend had fish tacos. You can have breakfast anytime, too. Such a gem.

Only been there once, but it was great! Staff was helpful, food was good & timely. I got the Philly cheesesteak WITH WIZ, so they understand how a real one is made. Saw the French toast go by and it’s huge and looks amazing. Will go back soon. Just watch your step going down to the door.

Love this little place the food is always fresh and awesome! I also took a sushi rolling class here that was fun and informative.

I eat here about three times a week and every meal has been delicious. The fish tacos, Caribbean salad, and Johnny Cakes are my favorites. All ingredients are fresh.

My daughter and I had lunch at Sun Dawg. My Aloha salad was fabulous. It had a pineapple salsa that was out of this world. The homemade dressing that came with is was delish. I added wahoo to my salad, a type of fish I hadn’t previously tried, loved it.
I also enjoyed a quinoa side and a terrific special iced tea. Planning to return ASAP.
The staff was friendly and helpful when we told them it was our first time there.

Food is good, but it is constantly smoky in this cramped space. The owners are pleasant, but don’t you dare clean off your table in an attempt to help while they’re busy. You will get a condescending ear-​full!
Definitely best for take out!

First time here and ordered the «what the falafel» tacos. They were absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to come back… Especially since it’s byob! :)

If you’re in downtown Greensburg for breakfast lunch or dinner during the week, you MUST try the Sun Dawg. They have great food and wonderful service.

Sun Dawg Café catered an event I attended this evening. Lucky for me, I ended up with two platefuls of amazing bruschetta from here. Oh my god, this stuff is good. Just a perfect garlic-​basil-​cheese bit of heaven.
I will make it a point to visit this awesome restaurant the next time I am in Greensburg. Absolutely delightful!
