Great cup of joe! I still dream of their French press coffee. Cute little shop with lots of ambiance. Service was good too! A good go-to coffee place downtown.

Wonderful coffee spot! The salted caramel lattes are decadent. This is my go to stop for a cup of java before TD Saturday market spring to fall. The employees are friendly and baristas are helpful with questions about changing up drinks to customize for you. Love this place!

The coffee selections are a plenty! There was over 20 flavors to choose from and more and a handful of syrups to add to your coffee. The place had good traffic for morning rush, yet was very accommodating and quick to get my coffee order and my sandwich. I ordered the French vanilla coffee and it had great flavor. I ordered the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, it was like a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin but a little bit more average. I also saw that they have gluten-free pastry options plus regular pastry options which all looked delicious. I even heard the cashier asked the customer if he wanted his muffin heated up, which I thought was a nice touch The staff was friendly and nice and I would recommend this place to get a good cup of coffee.

If you want a quality smoothie, this is the only place to get it. They use real frozen fruit instead of ice and flavoring. Yum. Prices are average for downtown.

Great coffee, awesome smoothie and fantastic staff. We loved it. A really friendly place with a great staff. Being tourist and not knowing much about a new place is hard, but when you run into great people, it makes for a wonderful trip. The staff went above and beyond just coffee. From places of interest to directions.

There are some coffee shops where you can close your eyes, walk in and the aroma of the roasted beans fills the air with a sensory overload. These are the true gems for coffee aficionados. Because sourcing a high quality bean and roasting it is a very complicated undertaking. Some shops understand this art extremely well. Some places sell brown river water that is watered down and does not resemble coffee at all. Port City Java(I found based out of Wilmington, NC) is a very solid coffee experience. I came by here as I wanted a substitute for Starcrooks. So day one I ordered a cappuccino and a blueberry scone. Cap was delightfully strong and creamy. Really tasty and a thicker roast flavour but very nice. blueberry scone was light sweet and it crumbled nicely. Day two I repeated the same order as day one and it was exactly the same amazing experience. I’d concur one of the best coffee shops on Main in downtown Gville. This place kicks some serious wazoo!

Hey, friendly and quick service, tasty iced mochaccino and a hot breakfast wrap. What more could I want?

As a non-coffee drinker, it’s hard for me to find a spot that serves great non-coffee beverages. Luckily, I came here during winter and found that they have a great hot apple cider. While, I’m much pickier when it comes to chai tea, their hot apple cider seemed spot on. Add friendly employees and you’ve got a repeat customer.

Location couldn’t have been any better. The outdoor seating makes it even better. Their unique music playlist is very pleasant. Coffees are usually good, but my favorite drink here is ‘Chai milkshake’. The staff is very friendly too. Pricing is similar to most other coffee shops. Overall, I give it 5 stars.

My favorite downtown main street coffee place! Excellent service, great coffee, but it’s the vibe that makes Port City Java pop! You can have you coffee out on the Main Street sidewalk, very good people watching! Or, even better, the back part of the store and the out back patio area. I don’t think you’ll find a cooler place to chill out and enjoy some quality coffee and snacks. This is one of the best escapes you’ll find in these parts, check it out!

One of my favorite things to do in life right now is order a French Press and sit at one of the outside tables at Port City Java, while downtown Greenville wakes up. I’m not a huge fan of PCJ’s espresso. However, that’s a personal preference issue. It’s a tad too sour for me(To be fair, could have been the way it was pulled the day I ordered one). I know there are many who truly enjoy espresso drinks there. The iced Americano is good. Their brewed coffee is fresh. Again, I recommend the French Press with a medium roasted coffee(Ethiopian or Brazil is a good choice). PCJ staff is friendly, helpful and well trained. This is a well managed coffee shop, with a good selection and truly quaint location. Full disclosure: my daughter used to be a barista here. However, even now that she’s away at college, I still come and hang out. In fact, it’s where I am writing this review! Check them out.

Best coffee in town. Love it! Great classical music instead of crazy rock on the back round. Strongly recommend ! Flavored lattes are a must have !

Great and helpful staff. Since this was my first visit, I had a couple questions about the menu choices and they gladly helped me out and took my order and made my beverage quickly. The location is right on Main St in downtown. Parking is kind of hard to come by in the area, so I ended up parking one block over, no big deal really. Wonderful and beautiful location. The store itself has a really nice atmosphere. Each one of the booths has an outlet which is super nice if you’re a student like me. Also, outback they have a huge porch and a plaza like park area. The reason for the four star rating was that I wasn’t too impressed with the coffee. I felt like for the price I paid, it didn’t justify the coffee.

This place is sassy — I love the selection and people are very friendly. It’s laid back and almost hip. Good background music, which makes it easy to hang-out, have a coffee, and read a book. Situated mid-way on Main Street Greenville, SC makes for easy access. Love it.

Port City Java is indeed A-OK. The location downtown is convenient, but I am not a huge fan of their coffee. I have visited here twice for coffee only, so I cannot attest to their food. The first time I tried a cup of their drip brew coffee and thought it was just ok. While it was not as strong-tasting as the coffee at Starbucks, it had a similar bitter aftertaste that Starbucks tends to have. However, knowing that I am incredibly picky about the taste of a regular brew, on the next visit I tried an iced caramello leche. It is a matter of personal taste, I suppose, but I do not like the regular or sugar free caramel-flavored syrup. It has to be the real thing for me. Unfortunately, this place uses the fake in this drink, which pretty much ruined the drink for me. I will say, though, that this place has some positives. Both times I came here, my drink came quickly and the service was friendly. They do seem to have ample seating in here. I hope to try it again one of these days and find something on their menu that strikes my fancy.

A great little chain coffee shop in the middle of the bustling downtown. The line always moves quickly and they have a great selection of coffee and pastry options.

The only place open downtown on Thursday after Snowpocalypse Part 2! Café Manager was running the place on his own and serving up delicious lattes with a smile to a packed house. Delicious sugar free hazelnut latte recommended!

I greatly enjoy a good cup of coffee(but of course when I say«coffee» what I really mean is iced, flavored, milky beverages with a shot of espresso in it. But, y’know), and Port City Java’s milky goodness more than delivered! While geared a bit more toward those true coffee connoisseurs, who drink actual honest-to-goodness black coffee, their iced espresso drink was delicious! I came with four friends. I ordered the Iced Dark Mochaccino™: fresh espresso with(white or dark) chocolate and whipped cream, and it was really good! My friend(who we will call S.De.) ordered their cheesecake and Red Strawberry Smoothie: «delicious!» He says. My other friend(J.Da.) ordered the blueberry bagel: «yummy». My other friend(O.P.) ordered a mango Italian Soda(a first for our server) and said«it was enjoyable». My fourth friend(M.B.S.) ordered the blueberry muffin and apple cider, and decided«the blueberry muffin was good, but the cider was not very flavorful». I asked the cashier about what else was good in the menu, and she listed some really unique and tantalizing drinks, such as the Mocha Shake(espresso, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream milkshake; ooooh), and the Black and Tan Mocha(espresso, milk, caramel, dark chocolate, and white mocha all mixed together with whipped cream on top; ahhhh). The service was good, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere was pretty nice as well, though very different from the sleek, moody ambiance most coffee shops. Instead, photographs and paintings by local artists hang on walls painted in bright primary colors, in a bright, clean dining room. In short: a bright, welcoming, affordable, and delicious coffee experience. I raise my iced espresso drink filled with milk, flavoring, and whipped cream to thee, Port City Java!

A relaxing and casual atmosphere, comparable in a way to Starbucks, but not like Coffee Underground. The folks that work here are very friendly, upbeat, and efficient. I usually come here for a breakfast bagel sandwich. Love the fact they they get their bagels from Greenfileld’s(the best locally owned/fresh bagel shop in Greenville). If you work in downtown and you haven’t had breakfast, for about $ 3 and some change, their simple bacon and egg on a plain jane toasted Greenfield’s bagel is simply delectable and will start your morning off well! As for their coffee, I have not had the opportunity to try it yet. However, their chai milkshake is something I highly recommend if you’re wanting to step away from the office and enjoy a sweet bliss of sensation.
