If it’s not worth doing, then don’t do it at all; Go big(like a 16″ square Sicilian pie kind of big), or go home! So I stopped by Greenville one Friday to pick up my brother on the way home, and it’s getting close to dinner time so we decided to stop and grab a grub on the way home. That’s when I spotted Rocco’s. Sitting in the same shopping center as the new Greenville Regal Cinema, you might think Rocco’s easy to spot. You would be wrong. For some reason, some of the businesses in this shopping center are located in two detached buildings close to the main street(Greenville Blvd) but strangely the front of the building is point away from the street and toward the theater, so if you are driving by, all you see is the back of the brick buildings. Once inside, you can tell this is a new establishment. Everything is still all shiny and clean. No faded color. Rocco’s boast their pizzas are backed to perfection in brick ovens, and their breads are baked fresh daily; strangely, that brick oven has a metallic shine on the outside. #ImJustSaying. Like any pizzeria, you can get a pie, a Stromboli/Calzone, simple pasta like Lasagna or Manicotti, and you can get cold and hot sub varieties like a cold cut or cheese-steak or any meat+Parmesan. They also offer weekday Subs specials and daily double slices special. One thing that caught my eyes, as I stepped through their door, was a food challenge in their name sake. The«Rocco’s Challenge,» as they called it, summon any brave eaters that can pack away a specialty Sicilian(as I mentioned before, a 16″ square pit, usually cut into 16 slices, so each slice is 16 . simple math, hard challenge) or a large steak Stromboli(also 16″ pie, just folded and stuffed to the brim with meat and cheese). I have already lay down my challenge paper. Next Friday September 30th, I shall be the inaugural challenger and winner of the Rocco’s Challenge.
