Great atmosphere with a lovely, friendly and accommodating service, and high quality pan-Asian cuisine are all available at this fine establishment. I’ve been coming here for years and I will continue to be a steady patron. The cuisine is accurate to its origins and expertly prepared and seasoned. The spice isn’t overwhelming and everything is tailored to your liking. One of the upstate’s best!

So I went back. My partner and I arrived around 1pm prepared to order sushi and were told the sushi chef had not arrived yet but should be by soon. How do you run a sushi restaurant with no sushi chef? So we ordered a few appetizers and waited. Around half an hour later he shows up, we order, everything takes forever exactly like last time. Horrible service. Mediocre, thrown together sushi this time. Not worth it. Never going back. :/

I had the pleasure of being introduced to this Thai restaurant by my awesome girlfriend. I grew up in Greenville, but had never had the pleasure of dining at Thaicoon until tonight. I was satisfied overall with the experience. We were sat immediately. I digged the place’s décor. The sushi bar caught my eye, I thought it looked pretty cool. Service got our drinks in right away. I don’t think it was very busy for a Friday night around 8 o’clock, but they were all over our refills for the whole time. That’s what I’m talking about! We had sushi and a dumpling appetizer to start. The sushi and dumplings were both very enjoyable. I thought that perhaps I would have gotten more dumplings for the price of the appetizer, but they were quite good. The sushi was like this euphoric melt-in-your-mouth type sensation. I would also highly recommend the mango tea as it is quite scrumptious. For the main course, we both had Pad Thai. It was about what I expected to receive when they brought out my food. A traditional national dish of the country of Thailand, I found myself staring down a plateful of rice noodles, pork, crushed peanuts, eggs, scallions, and bean sprouts. Yummy! Next time, I may up the spice level. I went with a three, not really wanting to over-do it for my first foray into a new place. My girlfriend went with the five, and after trying hers, I may go up to a 6 or 7 the next time around. Great job, Thaicoon!

Service and quality have both made massive improvement. You can tell that Bobby is back in the day to day operations and weak staff members have been eliminated. Kudos to him for putting a priority on getting things right. We had a delightful time tonight and will start coming back again. BTW the Coach’s Thai is fabulous.

I would give this place 0⁄5 if possible. I have been eating Thai food since I was a young child. This is a sorry excuse for Thai. Americanized, greasy, poor quality vegetables, poor quality meat, inconsistent level of cooking/spice, unusually small portions, dirty interior. All in all, Id recommend saving your money and avoiding the risk of food poisoning by crossing this restaurant off the list of possibilities.

Near Furman, this Thai gem offers some of the DANKEST Asian food in the area with some killer portions. You’ll pay roughly $ 10-$ 15 for a plate but it’ll last a couple meals for some pad Thai or fried rice. The owner is awesome and LGBT friendly — definitely a safe spot to hang. My go-to Tuesday and Wednesday night’s. Only drawback is service sometimes but worth it.

First time I have tried Thaicoon. I have always driven by it on the way to my apartment but never stopped by until now. The food is pretty decent. The location is great for Furman students and anyone in the area who wants Thai food. That being said, the food is good. It isn’t super great and amazing, but it is pretty good. I would give it another star, but the pricing in my opinion is a little too pricey for the quality and taste of the food. For their prices, I expected my food to taste better than it did. All in all, I would go here again if I didn’t feel like driving further for better tasting Thai food.

Food: 4 Kings Fried Rice. It was pretty good, but the meat is very bland/plain. No marinade on the chicken/steak and definitely no seasoning. Could have significantly improved the meal had the meat had some sort of seasoning or marinade. Rice is a little crunchy/burnt on some pieces which I liked. Probably would get something different next time with more fresh vegetables. Essentially just fried rice and plain cooked meat, meh. Bathroom: it had to have been a joke. Soap was obviously just water refilled, no paper towels and a sauce bottle on the counter next to the toilet? It was such a joke lmao I couldn’t believe it I had to take pictures.

Gave it so many tries, NEVER again! Food is just so-so but way over priced, service is terrible!!! Possibly the worst I’ve ever had, and I have patience being in the industry. The last time my husband and I only called in to go food, thinking we will by pass the bad service, got home and we received the wrong order, called to notify them, they told me «Big Deal!», I was shocked, ask to bring it back and they said«no, bc we aren’t busy and we wanna close». Never again!!!

Thaicoon is hot or not. I have enjoyed many of their dishes over the years since it opened but it’s historically plagued by spotty service. They still serve the best massaman curry I ever had.

Great food. The menu was on point but the service is horrible. I had to chase down a different server to get refills. Our server was too busy with his friends or cleaning up to close than to actually make sure we were okay. He even had to ask us 3x what we were ordering bc he didn’t write it down and forgot. Lastly when I needed a pen for my Credit card receipt — instead of politely handing it over, he just threw it on the table. Maybe I’m being picky now bc of my bad experience. The food though was A+.

Food was okay. The restaurant was dirty. Bag of trash, and a makeshift ashtray right outside the front door. Employees including the manager out front smoking. To top it off the bathroom was nasty. There was no soap at all! The towel dispenser was broken and the roll just sitting on the counter. If I had been in the restroom first, I would not have eaten.

Average sushi some nights are better than others. The service is not the best partly due to hiring people with no experience. Last time we visited our waiter would disappear only to see him flirting with the girls out front. Seems to be a lot of student help. With limited choices in the area it is a decent place if you don’t feel like driving. Kitchen closes too early.

This place is serviceable Thai. Decent sushi, ok Thai. Service can be a little spotty, but all in all is fine for a decent lunch.

Hubby and I came in after church and we had a very hungry, cranky toddler on hand who absolutely had his heart set on noodles. They don’t typically offer a child’s portion of noodles so we ordered some fried rice for him and he was SO disappointed. He cried and was just very put off from then on out. I was worried that he was ruining the entire atmosphere for everyone else who was there. We were lucky enough to be visited by the owner who surprised us with a specially made order of pad Thai noodles for my son, in addition to the fried rice we ordered, so he could have his choice. We were so touched and blessed, not to mention the food was wonderful! We’ve been looking for great Thai since we left Oklahoma City and we are so happy to have found Thaicoon. Can’t wait to try the sushi! Great service, great food. Two thumbs up!

Second time, last time, food is overpriced, with overly dramatic descriptions, I tried the duck which was roasted and deboned and then fried. Apparently they missed a few bones … Bartender(waiter) was borderline oblivious to the fact he had a table to provide service to, we actually had to hold the empty beer bottles up and say«bartender» Maybe its just good marketing but I had alot higher expectations

Unfortunately I was not very impressed. They messed up our order twice and we had to have it fixed. Food was average but nothing to be excited about. Their sushi was great and pretty much the only good thing about the place.

Food was good, service was very slow. The waitress was missing most of the meal. The food took over 40 min to get to us. However the food was good. I had the pad Thai. I ordered mine at a 10 spiciness level, and it was good. Still not at the spice level I was hoping for. If I had time for a meal that wasn’t rushed I’d go back.

Just arrived at this place. On a Friday. The regular dining area was a 45 minute wait. So I decided to sit at the bar and order my food. I ordered the garlic add shrimp, and a peach long island that the bartender recommended. So 5 minutes go by, and no peach Long Island. Other patrons enter the bar and sat next to me, ordered a drink and received it instantly received their drink. 10 more minutes pass and I order a water, and he brings me a Long Island, and doesn’t apologize about the wait, I told him I changed my mind and I will continue on the food order. My food ended up taking over an hour to receive, and my order was incorrect. I had a few bites and left the place. The waiter only changed me a few dollars but I was very disappointed with the experience.
