Based on the previous reviews I entered hesitantly. In reality, I found the employees to be lovely, helpful and down to earth. The store is small, has only clothing and accessories for women but some real steals can be found. Patience and persistence is the best plan for all second hand stores!

I consigned a bunch of items there. A belt that I had consigned went missing. They did not take responsibility for it due to their store policy. Sure enough, I ended up meeting a woman at a party who told me the same thing happened to her with a very expensive item that she consigned there. It just went missing. A short time later she actually found her item on consignment at Deja Vu in Port Chester. She asked whose name the item was under and the name they gave her was the name of Second Time Around’s Manager! Shocking but it explains why they specifically have a store policy that doesn’t cover theft!

I like to stop in here on a regular basis, love the STA’s in the city so I always hope I run I to good finds at this store. Finds are hit and miss but one thing that always stands out to me is the lack of customer service. The girls that work there are just blasé about everything and can be short and rude. It’s a shame.

If you are trying to consign clothes with this shop, you’d better have an appointment. I forgot to make one and stopped by with some clothes. The person behind the counter, who I believe was the owner, was so nasty when I walked in! She said she’d take a look at my items, but as punishment for not having an appointment, if the items didn’t sell, I was not allowed to have them back. NOTHANKS! I walked out and went to another consignment shop in town. There is no need for someone being so rude and nasty. You’d think she would WANT items to be sold in her store! I went elsewhere, where they happily received ALL of my items!

the merch here runs the gamut from pretty low-end(esp. for greenwich) to great, cheap deals on very high end(pucci clutch for $ 175, vuitton slides for $ 50, etc.). i like the staff-no-nonsense and informed. their sales are great-very aggressive discounts.

Located at the top of Greenwich Ave, with little curb appeal, it’s easy to walk right past this store. I’d heard good things about the Second Time Around In Boston, so my mom and I decided to stop in here while I was in town. The space was pretty small and there was only 1 salesperson who was too busy folding scarves to say anything to us… she was also too busy to put on any music, so we shopped in complete silence. Everything was neatly organized by style and size, but once I took a glance at the price tags I was a bit shocked. Prices were pretty high for used clothing and there seemed to be a serious pricing disparity: scuffed Cole Haan loafers for $ 100, used Lady Dior hand bag for $ 200. Cole Haan loafers generally retail for $ 200 whereas a brand new Lady Dior bag is almost $ 2000. Pricing disparities aside the selection was interesting– lots of Lilly and Ralph Lauren, a few older Tibi pieces and a few DVF dresses mixed in there. The jean selection could have used some help, seeing as how I don’t know anyone who still wears Bongo jeans and Paris Blues, but perhaps they’re tapping into an unknown market… Since the inventory is constantly changing, I may check back over Christmas break… maybe I’ll find a Birkin for 300 bucks and some brand new Nikes for $ 250.
