Happened across this place after finding out the restaurant I planned on going to was closed. So glad I did! The staff is just great and the atmosphere was stellar. The food was also top notch. I had a mushroom risotto that I wanted to eat all over again but couldn’t because I was full. The wine list is very good and the selections on the menu make me want to go back and try it all!

I am from Manhattan and this restaurant could hang with the so-called«5-star» restaurants in the city. The food was delicious! Seriously one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I ordered the cider braised chicken and my boyfriend ordered the beef brisket. Both dishes were excellent. You didn’t even need a knife for both the chicken and beef because they were so tender and juicy. Oh my god. Just writing a review about them is making my mouth water. For dessert we ordered the french apple cake and it was an interesting mix of salt, sweet, and savory. I highly recommend all three dishes. Best of all the restaurant sources its ingredients and wines from local farms and businesses and you could taste the freshness. I will definitely be back.

Yummy place. Uses local ingredients. Would have been lovely if the chef/owner came out and talked with us since we were the only diners. They’re new, opened up this past year, and the server with the kick-ass mustache was so nice and helpful. Heard from his friend at the nearby ABC brewery that he will be the chef for a while as the current chef will be on leave. Tomato lentil soup was pretty tart but I loved the salad and the dressing. It would have been nice if my friend’s special ravioli(creamy) came with some veggies or something else. They have local beer and grass fed burger nights on Thursdays for $ 15. Would love to try that if I’m in the area again. I think Wed are local nights — you get 15% off just for showing up. Trying to get locals to come out and support local businesses. Wished we had enough space for desserts. There was a choice of 3, all sounding amazing. With tip for four people the bill totaled $ 100. They sell photographs on their walls. The tables and chairs are all different — the interior is so charming.

We were riding our motorcycles through the quaint town center of Greenwich and from the right corner of our eye, we saw this homely looking bistro for which we had to turn around and try. To our delight the food(all three courses) was just as fabulous as its first impression. We started the meal with an amazing shrimp appetizer, followed by a beer batter beef brisket that needed no knife and melted in ones mouth. The beef was grass-fed and locally supplied slow cooked with a hint of spice that slightly warmed the mouth for which we paired each bit with semi-cooled wine. After being delighted with the appetizer and entrée we could not stop there… We ordered a Carmel apple pie and Carmel chocolate mouse that words don’t describe. During the meal we learned this bistro was owned and operated by a mother and her two daughters that talked with us about their desire to own/operate a family business, for which rationalized the reason we felt at home when enjoying this spectacular place. If you go ask about the art. Best regards

If you want to get away from the racing hordes of Saratoga and you want to see what country means in the northeast, head east a short ways over to Washington County. Tucked away in the bucolic village of Greenwich NY is the Sweet Beet Bistro. When I say Bistro, I mean Bistro. A quaint and charming setting greets you as you enter with very simple farm tables for seating and beautiful landscape paintings no doubt by a local artist appointing the walls. Our server was well versed on the very eclectic menu which spanned Thai Curried Shrimp to Beer Braised Beef Brisket. They had something that everyone could enjoy with most ingredients being proudly touted as local. The food was top notch, timed perfectly and our server was very attentive and friendly. Call ahead for a reservation or you’re likely not to get a seat. I recommend this cool little place without reservation.

Visited this endearing joint while on a trip visiting from Colorado while attending my niece’s wedding. My husband said, «Best French toast I’ve ever had.» Everything we ate here from the grilled cheese to the tempeh kimchi melt was delicious and made with care. If you ever find yourself in Greenwich, NY, you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful find. We had the duck egg frittata and brisket Reuben for lunch. Both were great.

My teammates and I came here after a bike race yesterday and loved it! The staff was so sweet and friendly(and not the fake-nice kind, really nice.) I love that they use local ingredients. Their soup of the day was potato + leek and it was incredible! Also had the risotto with sunflower stalks. Nothing but good things to say about this place :)

I really want to love this place but had a disappointing meal here tonight. This was my second time here, the first was the first week that the new owner took over several months ago. I love that they source many ingredients locally and the food truly is delicious. My fiancé and I went in for dinner tonight and he ordered the brisket and I ordered a salmon special. Both were quite good. My issue, however, is with the portion size, price and service. Portions were really too small, particularly my salmon which was a tiny piece of fish on a small bed of risotto topped with a garnish of shredded asparagus salad. I was shocked at the $ 30 price when the bill arrived. I should have known better and asked before ordering, I just assumed it would be comparable to the regular entrees which range from $ 18 to $ 25. At $ 22, the brisket also seemed pricey for the portion. Our server was friendly but seemed a bit unprofessional and unfamiliar with the specials. We also came in at 8:30 on a Saturday night, a full 30 minutes before closing, and were treated to the loud clanging of clean silverware being dumped into bins and dishes being stacked as the kitchen staff was restocking behind the counter. This continued every 5 – 10 minutes through the entire meal and was really distracting since it was about 10 feet from our table. I’d like to give this place another try, I really love what they are about and the food is excellent, however until the service and prices improve I won’t be returning. Disappointing to spend $ 70 on a meal and leave still hungry.

Wow! New chef/owner Helen is knocking it outta the park! The salads we had were two of the best ever, and I am a salad FREAK! I had the bolonese sauce with local beef, and it was fantastic as well. I live that they source as much food locally as they can. Great music playing in the background, not too loud, classy. Woohoo! Only 4 stars because my dining companion ordered the morrocan chicken tagine and it was only okay. It needed more sauce and the flavor lacked«pop»…but it was still pretty good.

Impressive food — local, delicious, creative offerings and reasonable ! Under new ownership, the chef scores high each time we go there. We bring our visitors there and they always remark about how much they love the food and the prices. We highly recommend Sweet Beet(formerly DISH). It’s a local gem!

Under new ownership but continues to excel in customer service and exceptional food. This is the gem of Washington County. And with a new and exceptional menu each month it’s a place with returning over and over.

Oh my God. Let me tell you about this place. So I was up in Greenwich for the week at a retreat. Two of the nights meals were not provided, so we had to venture out and find something. I wanted to stop at this place after having driven past it. I had initially gone with one of the other ladies from the retreat. When we got there, TEN others were there, so we joined them. This was on a Wednesday. The chef was alone that night and yet he hit everything out of the park. He was an excellent host, took our orders, kept us watered, and though the food was slow to come out due to his being alone and there being so many of us, it was amazing. Not a single complaint! I had a delicious iced coffee to drink. For dinner I had the Korean BBQ Beef Bowl. MYGOD. It was heaven! The kimchi on the side was deliciously spicy and complemented the beef. We made reservations for Friday and returned for dinner that night, where he had plenty of people to serve. And this time we had a larger group. STILL he managed to cook the best food! I had — along with a few others — the Pad Thai with vegetables. Good lord. I’m not kidding when I say it’s the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had. I was NOT expecting that. Again I had the iced coffee because the brew was just too good the first time. I can also recommend, based on my colleagues reactions, the Ice Harvest cider/wine. Two ordered it. At $ 9 a glass it’s pricey, but if the look on their faces is anything, it was heaven. We even made a run afterwards to the liquor store, but sadly they did not have any. If you are within 50 miles of this restaurant, you must go. I cannot wait until the next time I’m in the area because I will go out of my way to visit. Great atmosphere and great food! What more could you want?

Yep, this place is really as good as everyone says. We stopped in for lunch and as it was off-season we were the only diners there. The waiter was friendly and helpful but not pushy. I had the African peanut soup(today’s special) and it was outstanding. My husband and I each had an entrée salad and they were both fantastic. This restaurant claims to use mostly organic, local ingredients, when available– and it definitely tasted like it, very fresh. The interior décor could probably do with a bit of help, as it kind of looked like it was decorated on a shoestring by a couple of starving artists who just plopped some yard sale tables in an abandoned storefront. Nevertheless, I could look past all that because the food was simply excellent, and very reasonably priced.

YAY! Finally made it here and I’m actually disappointed that I haven’t visited sooner. The place is adorable, spotless and has an artsy feel to it. There’s a piano and lots of great art work hanging all over the place. Seems that they do have live music sometimes(but not last night). It’s small, so on busy nights, either get there early(before 6) or make a reservation. The menu is very diverse and eclectic — which makes decisions difficult. But, we decided on 2 appetizers, 3 main courses, dessert and decaf coffee. Rave reviews for all of the following: –Brussels Sprouts, Roasted red pepper spread with pita(appetizers) –Pad Thai with shrimp, Green Curry(chicken)with brown rice, Moroccan Chicken(main courses) –Flourless chocolate cake, ginger cheesecake(yes! ginger! it was amazing) and carrot cake.(desserts obviously). Even the decaf was good. Oh, and the organic ginger ale was perfect. They have a nice selection of wines and cocktails which I decided last minute not to partake in. Staff is friendly, attentive and cool. The food came out really fast, too! Can’t wait to go back and work my way through the menu. That’s the plan.

Really lovely restaurant in Greenwich, NY. Being from NYC, I was happy to find that Greenwich had an eclectic and modern restaurant with a fantastic menu, and it wasn’t too pricey either! It was nice that I could order beef stew with irish soda bread for saint patrick’s day(mmm), while my boyfriend could order pad thai that could have been served at any upscale thai restaurant. Everything was delicious and full of local ingredients. The kitchen was small, but the food came out really fast considering. The croissant bread pudding for dessert was to die for. If I’m ever in Greenwich again, I will definitely return! The only thing that made me knock off a star was that this place was understaffed. One server was hosting and manning all of the tables! The place isn’t big, but it was completely full, and I think another member of waitstaff would have had things running more smoothly. She looked really stressed out!

The best thing that’s happened to Greenwich. It has an unassuming façade, but then you enter to the most wonderful aromas. It is very quaint with original tin celings and hardwood floors. Extremely friendly and helpful staff that really set the ambiance. A surprisingly eclectic menu for a rural restaurant in upstate NY. I will eat here again! The Pad Thai and Reisling were delicious!

I love DISH with all of my heart. Every ounce of every bite of every morsel of every dish I’ve had is exactly what I wanted and more. It makes my day better. They also have the best coffee, like, ever. Obviously the owners/employees are super awesome. I mean come on, they have pad thai. In Greenwich. That alone makes you a winner. Top that off with outdoor seating, WiFi, a piano, couches, and books; they’re always playing good music, and they’re always having a good time. Just don’t read this and get any ideas. like you’re gonna come take over the couch lounge. That’s my spot. I’m only half joking. You can hang out on the couch as long as there’s still room for me.
