We eat here every few weeks. Food is always consistently good and so is the service. We have never had a bad experience. Love the roast beef po boy, onion rings and wraps.

Great food, wonderful atmosphere. After reading some reviews we were concerned about the service quality… we were especially pleased! We came to listen to some musicians from our children’s music school. The place was packed, but the hostess was very attentive and made sure to seat our four children as soon as possible so they could enjoy the music. She then found a table for my husband and I close by our kiddos. The waitress was amazing with our kids(ages 17 – 11) and filled their every need. The young lady behind the bar who waited on my husband and I was simply fantastic. Made sure we were happy and that our kids were happy too. Can’t say enough about this wonderful local gem. As a military family, we have experienced many different areas around the country. We like to find those special restaurants that will remind of us our time spent in our current«home.» This will most likely join the list as one of our favorite local places we will cherish always!

It kills me to leave such a low rating because the food here is wonderful, but the service always leaves much to be desired. We have visited Gattuso’s 4 times with 4 different servers and still had the same substandard service. Each time it has taken a minimum of 5 minutes for a server to greet us and take drink orders(on our 3rd visit it was easily 15 minutes). The ticket time on our appetizer of cheese fries had to have been close to 15 minutes today and I’m pretty sure our entrees were prepared at the same time because when they came out the plates were very hot like they had been sitting under the lamp(we both had sandwiches so the food would not have heated the plate that much). We actually waited until the lunch rush was over before going today thinking the service would have to be better when the girls weren’t so busy… nope. Our particular server today actually saw us sit down at the table and still did not come greet us for at least 5 minutes. There were only 5 – 6 other tables in the whole restaurant. It’s so disappointing that the service is so bad because the food is great.

Awesome food, great appetizers great desserts, and by far the best main courses I’ve tried. Great ambience & they have live music on the weekends, I don’t feel I’m in Westbank when I’m there, everything is moderne yet classic feel.

I’ve picked up lunch(usually a grilled shrimp Poboy) from this place quite a few times and while it’s not the most amazing meal I’ve ever had, I wouldn’t turn my nose up to eating here. The food is ordinary and the staff is nice. I haven’t had any bad experiences here and definitely have it on my list of lunch of venues when I’m in the area

Loved this place!!! It’s a fun place for just adults or families. Music is awesome. Very nice crowd. We sat outside and was perfect there. Also nice inside(if you want to be closer to the band) My server was so nice and attentive. Food was delicious. And they give good size entrees which was nice. Try their southwestern egg rolls, soo good!

The price for the quality level is too much. Cute place. The service was decent. Probably will not return.

Came over to Gretna for the food truck festival that was so overwhelmed that we decided to come over to Gattuso’s. I have been here before on previous west bank bike rides and they always had great draft beer. I stopped in for food this time and I wasn’t disappointed. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were just ok, the star of the show was the spaghetti and meatballs that featured one of the best red sauces I had ever had. The meatballs themselves were a little underwhelming but the sauce made up for it. One of my friends got the meatball poboy which had me in food envy because the sauce loaded on top of crispy french bread, cheese and more meatballs than I had on my plate. If I ever come back I know what I will order. The best beer is the gattuso amber which is a beer specially brewed for them, it is excellent. A very good west bank option.

Holy crap the best sloppy roast beef po boy on the planet! Must have if you are in a 50 mile radius! Only reason not 5 stars was service. Lots of young, rookie servers at the wheel with no experience. Service was slow and unknowlegable.

Update to my original review from 8÷13÷15: After checking my bank account, it turns out our waitress Candace, took it upon herself to add a tip to my credit card without my authorization. I have contacted my bank and reported a fraud charge to get my money back. Awful business. Original Review: I used to really enjoy Gattuso’s. But apparently the service and quality of food has gone down hill. We went there and I had the roast beef poboy, and my friend had the spaghetti and meatballs. The poboy bread was hard as a rock to the point it actually hurt my gums and made a huge mess because it was so hard. It must have been«end of the night» bread. Poboy bread should have a little crunch but not be hard enough to have the ability to kill a Chihuahua or baby. There was barely any meat on the sandwich as well. My friend tried his spaghetti and said it tasted like the sauce was right out of a can, which it probably was. I tasted it myself and sure enough, metallic can taste. About 15 minutes in, our waitress just came by and gave us our check. Didn’t ask if we needed anything else, just dropped it off without saying anything and walked off. We also sat there a few times with empty drinks which were only refilled one time. Once we finished we gave the waitress our card. We were sat in the front and had a clear view of the back area where the registers are and the servers hang out. We watched our waitress swipe our card, and then stand in the back for at LEAST10 minutes talking and laughing with the other servers while we waited. We most likely will not be returning, which I’m sure is perfectly fine with the staff since they didn’t seem very interested in helping. It should also be mentioned there were about 20 other people in the restaurant total between the inside area and outside during our visit, so the bad service and food quality wasn’t because they were packed and busy. I mentioned our experience to a few friends once we left and a few of them said they’ve had similar experiences lately and had stopped going to Gattuso’s. I guess we’ll be joining the club as well. Unilocal asked me if this place is good for dessert. I’m not really sure since we weren’t asked if we wanted anything before the check was given to us :-/

This little gem of old Gretna continues to evolve and mature with age. The restaurant has undergone major construction and expansion in the past year and it’s even more fun to hang out here! The food remains delicious and plentiful. Daily specials and nightly events(ladies’ night, trivia night, pint night, live music) all make it worth coming for.

Man, disappointed in the service for one. The girl we had was not attentive(to us) but payed plenty of attention the male workers there for lunch. Our food was mediocre for the price tag. The shrimp poboy $ 12 had barely any shrimp on it. I doubt I go back especially with others right around the corner with excellent food and service. What a shame.

Went here a few times. Very first time: Went in with the owners friend. Sat outside and basically got caught in a wind storm with umbrellas flying everywhere. It was our dumb fault for sitting outside, but we helped wrangle up the umbrellas and it was still great food and the lunch crowd seemed to be loving everything. Last time: They were redoing the floors in the place. Did they shut down for the days or hire the crew to come in after they close to do it? FUCKNO. They apparently wanted a Home Depot feel to everything. So while you are trying to sit there and have a nice relaxing lunch, there will be a little sawing and hammering… My bad I guess. When I asked to sit somewhere else, the waitress rolled her eyes. So I decided to stay at my horrible table where I had a great few of carpenters ass cracks. I don’t know if she was mad at me or mad at the situation, it doesn’t matter. This place obviously should have been closed down instead of trying to make money while putting people out.

This is a great place to eat! Feels homey and they also have friendly staff. The house burger is awesome. It is a huge flambroiled patty on what seems to be a homemade bun. I got sweet potato fries with it. They were cooked fresh and delicious. I also tried the fried avocado with ranch. It was delicious. If you like avocado, even just a little bit, you will like this appetizer.

Fast and friendly service. Awesome selection of salads. My son really enjoyed the Ruben. Will definitely be returning. Plus Groupons has a great offer. Bartender made good drinks. They remodeled the outside which is good for outside dining, plus the inside looks newly remodeled. We will definitely be back.

Great place to eat, the only problem is one day the food is amazing in the next day it’s terrible and the service is the same, one day good and the next day awful. The lunch servers need to be beefed up in ithat there need to be more of them so that we can actually get a drink refill during lunch. Love eating here but it definitely has a few improvements to be made.

The only reason I’m giving a 4 and not a 5 is because of the construction and a busboy who would snatch my napkins off of my table when I was still using them. Other than that, I enjoyed my experience there. I went to see Mike Corrado sing and while I was there, I decided to get a bite to eat. I didn’t want to eat anything too heavy so I got the mozzarella sticks. One, they’re not out of bag but rather hand cut, battered and then deep fried. Two, these are mozzarella sticks on steroids. They’re huge and you get 5 of them.

Brought a $ 10/$ 20 Unilocal deal yesterday because I figured if I was gonna spend $ 10 bucks for fast food… something homemade should definitely be better. This place is located in the cutest little area of Gretna right around the court house. Of course most of the area is pay to park on the street, but Gattuso’s has a parking lot right across the street that is surely a win. I sat at the bar and ordered. Immediately you notice that its REALLY a neighborhood spot as all the waitresses and diners know each other by name. They have decent happy hour specials and outside seating. I ordered the crawfish queso dip and the wrap of the day(Oyster Club) and sweet potato fries. All the food was decent, but not amazing. I’m sure there’s better things on the menu, so I’ll be back. My only thing which is a pet peeve… sitting at the bar you can see directly in the kitchen. The sweet potato fries were frozen which isn’t that bad, but I don’t want to see the cook running his hands through his mane while your preparing my food. EEEK!

I got the $ 10 for $ 20 deal on Unilocal(well worth it). I often come here for the Buffalo Chicken Wraps. I’ve tried other items on the menu, and they are all pretty delicious. The French fries are really good. It never seems like enough, but I always leave feeling full. The service is great every time. My only complaint is that the food takes a while to get to the table.

I’ve been back a few times and the roast beef is the best. Better than any place in NOLA including Parkway. I’m a fan of Gattuso’s!
