Why is this place so far from major cities??? I’d take one star away just for that but it’s ok… because the Chocolate Crackle’s are worth the drive through Gridley. I dont think you’d be disappointed by any of their baked goods. I stopped for cookies and left with stuffed biscuits, turnovers & blueberry bread pudding. Oh & the cookies too.

Nothing says«I need to kill time between customer visits» like a Starbucks run. And when a freakin’ cookie place is located next door to said Starbucks, well… let’s just push that next visit back another half hour or so. At 9:30 in the morning, Carla’s Cookies was KILLING me. Why? I wanted one of every cookie. In fact, I fully intended to purchase only one to nibble on with my coffee, but I couldn’t decide and ended up buying a DOZEN and promised to share with coworkers back at the office. You can already guess how that went. Fast-forward to the end of the workday, and I took home 6 cookies that I had hoarded away from my colleagues. Snickerdoodles, Crackles without Nuts, Rascals and Milk Chocolate with Almonds were all mine. Each bite was more tender and more flavorful than the last. I’ve since quit that crappy job, but I will remember Carla’s the next time I’m up that way. Delicious!

So as I was driving to Chico yesterday, I passed a huge billboard that read«Wanna Cookie?» I said, «Well I didn’t, but now that you ask. yes, why yes I do wanna cookie.» I decided to stop and see what all this cookie business was about, and when I walked in the little shop I immediately saw all the cookies behind the case in all their cookie glory. I asked the very nice girl behind the counter which cookie she recommends, because you see. my original plan was to just get one cookie. Bad idea to ask. because she pretty much named and pointed to each cookie there was. Yeaahhhh I ended up almost buying like one of each. . Oh there were so many cookies. Just to name a few. chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter snickers, chocolate coconut spice. And some unusual cookies that you don’t see every day that were offered: Russian tea cake and Mexican wedding cake. I left the cookie store with a smile on my face knowing that today would be a fine day. Oh and just so you know, the peanut butter snickers cookie was ah-may-zink. If you ever find yourself on the long boring annoying drive to Chico or beyond. I suggest stopping at this cute little shop, and your drive will be enhanced by a bazillion.
